Where are we today ?
Today is supposed to be the warmest day of the week as long as the cloud cover goes away. Not great for charging our solar. Did not get a full charge all day even with our inverter shut off and nothing turned on. Got close today 13.8 but need 14.01 for a full charge. mostly cloudy all day |
While I was in town for some parts Suzie saw an ultra light over head the 2 pics below she took with her I-phone.
With all our electronic devices, 2 computers, I-phone, I pad, etc we have a back up that works. yes we could run our genny but don't like to.When I go to town my computer is plugged into the small 300 watt inverter we have in the car. Our first one we got about 20 years ago, still works like a charm. When I come home my Mac is charged , then Suzie charges her computer, then the I-phone and i-pad in the car works pretty slick.
our 300 watt inverter for the car |
thats done but still have a problem |
Time to relax a bit and take my mind off it, get some reading done. Tomorrow is another day. Mostly overcast, when the clouds are gone the sun is blutal, clouds cover it gets chilly, that's the desert that we love.
no awning today |
you guessed it we love chicken |
they are a long way away |
Glad that you took the time to stop by here at "desert dirt" sure is wonderful.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Fall and Winter..
Glad I am at home. I went out and tried starting my RV and everything in the dash was dead. When I turned the ignition key, nothing worked. Just a few months ago I got two new engine batteries. The four house batteries seem OK, so I used pushed the button to ad them to the engine batteries (battery boost). Engine turned over but really slow. The generator started so I figure the problem in in the ignition system somewhere. Always something, isn't there?
ReplyDeleteAlways something to fix with an rv, but keeps me busy. Usually just minor stuff though.
DeleteWouldn't it be nice to have a perfect RV without having to do any repairs ever? I think the only one like that available is at the toy store without an engine or no working parts.
ReplyDeleteWould be nice, but we do not live in a perfect world.
DeleteIf man made it it will break, but ya know even toys break too.
I still find less work looking after an Rv than looking after a house.
Hope you only have small hiccups on your travels. We enjoy the travel log.. Hope you and Susie have a wonderful Christmas and a special New Year.
DeleteThanks guys you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year as well, Hi to Norm.
DeleteGlad to see your still enjoying yourselves! Nice and peaceful out in the desert, you like it that way, aye! (Can you tell I'm Canadian, aye! - LOL) We are in Abita for a few weeks, weather is really nice, supposed to be 79 today - can't beat that! Take-care P.S. - I like your new picture of the two of you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Monique.
DeleteWe do love the desert, sunshine, dry air. mountains and wide open spaces.
Glad you are enjoying Abita we love that area too. And Don't forget to check out the Brewery for free beer.
Can you believe we haven't been to Quartzite? Nothing like a desert sky to greet the day and end the day!
ReplyDeleteWhat you haven't been to Quartzsite? Love the desert and the quirky town.
DeleteSorry that you've been attacked by those mean electrical gremlins. They are the hardest ones to exterminate from an RV. I know you'll track them down and give them the boot, just don't boot them my way! ;c)
ReplyDeletehaha, it happens, a I am working on it , one day at a time...
DeleteI will not send them your way, promise...
