Christmas Day in Southern California wonderful!

Where are we today ?
Merry Christmas, today is the day! And what a wonderful day it is, up early to check under our tree, luckily nothing there. There is nothing we need or want. we have good health, each other and an amazing lifestyle what more can we ask for.
You see so many signs all over north America about things happening in history, but I particularly like this one below.
love the sign
sun rising over Pilot Knob
That's Felicity across I-8
Got the early walkabouts and then a few phone calls to relatives back home, and a Facetime with my 2 daughters and 5 grands. Was so nice to see them all again, going crazy opening gifts and all the excitement  the young ones get so worked up over. Looks like everyone got lots of great gifts too.
Even got to facetime my mother, Sis was there for lunch with Ma and had her I-pad, that was nice to to see she was doing so well. And wished everyone a Merry Christmas. And Suzie phoned her Mom and Dad as well.
Now today we having a Christmas dinner with 100 of our closest friends, most we have not met yet.  (including John and Barb who we know a bit better).  They supply the Turkey, stuffing, mashed taters, and gravy. We bring a dish to share( I took my Macaroni salad) our table service, our wine and a $5.00 donation each. Was a great Christmas dinner with so much food and so many choices.
There was numbers on each table and we were number 8 to go for the hot food, but all the appys and salads were right behind us so, why not do that first while we are waiting? worked perfectly.
That be us all smiling, and John
is actually putting on his best smile .
some nice salads
more appetizers
A good turn out the hall was full with a bunch of happy friendly rv'er's.
a couple snacks while waiting
lots of desert
the volunteers having a ball
That was it I got my fill today,
so tasty,
tomorrow back to the healthy eating
Ok that was wonderful we all had a great Christmas dinner walked back to our sights, put the shorts and sandals on for a while and sat out and flapped our gums with the guys a bit more and Suzie got her doggie fix again! She is getting spoiled, or is it the dogs? maybe all three of them?
gotta love it
they both need to sit on her lap
Suzie got her doggie brush out and began brushing Piper, she just loves it, can you tell?
not so much for Hank though.
another Desert sunset, never tire of these
Perfect Christmas day in the south. Tomorrow going be sunny and warm too but predicting a north wind about 30 mph. Could get dusty but we will see. Not going anywhere anyway so no big deal.
Do we enjoy it? Yep do we miss our families? With today's technology we have cell phones. computer's, email,  facetime, Google hangouts, skype we can be right there with the families face to face, see them chat and interact and even watch them open gifts that we left there in October and still enjoy our lifestyle. Love when the grands come right up close to the camera and thank us for their gifts.
Thanks for stopping by and hope y'all have a wonderful Christmas too.

  4. What a grand time! Definitely a great way to celebrate the holiday, especially when families are far away ... I know, a phone call is wonderful, but it's so nice to have folks close by. You two have friends everywhere!

    1. It was a wonderful day, we have friend's we have met over the years, and run into each other as we travel around north America, nice to catch up with them from time to time.
I know we will be running into a few more this winter as well, and make a few more new friends too, just not sure when or where.

  5. Looks like you had a perfect Christmas day and you sure got a nice looking plate FULL of food. We spent Thanksgiving at a Texas campground several years ago and they did a similar thing which we really enjoyed - ended up eating with a couple from England.
