Where are we today ?
Hey it's not a nice day today, actually was very mild overnight then it went all downhill from there. High winds (25 mph gusts to 45 mph), dark skies fog, snow fluffies temps about 34 f most of the day. The coach is rocking, our mat blowing around but heck it is another experience at least we are not on the road. We adjust and make do, always something to do.
Early morning we had a nice treat double rainbows !

did get to see 2 rainbows this morning a nice treat |
|
most of the morning like this raindrops on my lense |
Into town pick up a couple things for supper, love this mural on a side street in town, this is the old west.
Had to pick up a bottle of Sarsaparilla and give it a try just cause. Tastes just like Root Beer but a cool name.

old west Root Beer |
With our satellite dish we found a movie on at 11 am (1 pm est) perfect , was really brutal weather out there with the wind and piercing rain.
A great way to get through the weather. When it was over only 1 pm and the wind died a bit and sun came out again. Now inspired to get outside again.
|
quite a bit nicer but still cool |
|
skies cleared and we could see a bit of snow in the mountains to the east of us |
I do have another inside repair to make. The drivers door has a Cam Handle at the top to secure the door and cut down on the wind noise. It finally broke (it's 16 years old) The rv place had a replacement but was plastic. The broken one is metal. So I looked it over and said.
"I can fix that". Took it apart , drilled a hole and to the Ace Hardware in town to pick up the proper bolt and nylock nut.
|
they have just about anything you need here |
Quick easy fix and think it works better than the original. Another repair off the list, few more to do outside when it warms up in the next day or 2.
|
drivers door Cam Handle all fixed |
Now with the weather still very windy, not gonna use our Weber Q tonight again. So for supper a Rice pilaf with smoked Turkey sausage for supper , for the recipe click
HERE or my recipe blog on the top right sidebar. An easy one pan meal and added a small salad was very tasty. The smoked sausage really added a lot of flavor. Of course some left overs too.

yummy yes |
Before we know it the day is winding down. Forecast for the rest of the week appears to be getting better every day. Yahoo ! Looking forward to that again.
Thanks for taking a peak and joining us today, everyday is a wonderful new experience.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Fall and Winter..
Forecast for Benson looks good the rest of the week. Always gets better.
ReplyDeleteIt does look very promising.
DeleteWe've heard from people all over about strong winds and hard rain. Not fun at all and just when our weather is turning better. Sometimes those nasty days outside can turn into great days inside.
ReplyDeleteEveryday so far has been wonderful no matter the weather, I know you are enjoying yours too.
DeleteI see by your map you are close to Mexican border. .are you staying there 4 winter?...hope the weather improves for you both..
ReplyDeleteWe will be getting much closer to Mexico, the weather will improve as we move around southern Arizona and California.
DeletePile up in the coach and watch a movie sounds perfect for a blustery day.
ReplyDeleteWorked great always an alternative.
DeleteBeautiful rainbow.
ReplyDeleteWe are getting that weather right now. Texas even had tornadoes. We have high winds here in Houston and had some rain. They say the real rain will be here in a few hours.
We sharing that storm with you, it's your turn now.
DeleteGood luck riding it out.
The weather here in Las Cruces was much the same. No rain, but for about five minutes or so some sleet. The cold front has moved in. However, it's nice weather for building a fire in the fireplace! Nice to feel safe and warm! :-)
DeleteThe weather front is moving on. We are nice and cozy here too, enjoying sunshine today, wonderful !
DeleteWahoo...the sun is shining today! Enjoy.....
ReplyDeleteYes it is wonderful !
DeleteYou enjoy too.
Great repair, nice to be able to fix things yourself. You have to be handy to own an RV. ;c)
ReplyDeleteThanks total cost .39 cents.
DeleteIt is almost a necessity to be somewhat handy if you own an Rv unless you have way too much money.
Well George, you are our forecaster for weather. Thank you. We had gorgeous days Sunday and Monday, two days after you did. Today not as nice but what you had yesterday. That means the windy cold stuff is coming for the weekend but so far only rain tomorrow and +16. We'll take this nice stuff here in Ontario for as long as we can! I love inside days like that sometimes too and I have a feeling we are going to have about 4 months of that. Lots of time to prep the house for a spring sale.
ReplyDeleteYou are right I am Thinking our weather is heading your way. Hopefullly not to many inside days here, but ya never know. I am sure you will have many more than use though.
DeleteGood luck preparing for the sale.
When we were in Benson, two years ago, at the same time as you this year, the weather was very similar: Cold, wet and windy.
ReplyDeleteNice fix on the driver door.
I remember that time for you 2 years ago.
DeleteWe have been here many times and the weather changes frequently, but we still enjoy the area.
Always satisfying to make these little repairs, it gives a sense of accomplishment!
ReplyDeleteWe had planned on being on the road early Monday. The wind had been rocking us on and off throughout the night and when we checked the weather ahead we saw what you experienced. So we changed plans. That would be the great part about not having a schedule to keep. We had the wind during the day but no snow just rain.
ReplyDeleteCelebrating the Dance
The wind was brutal, that is the nice thing about this lifestyle plans are written in Jello.
