Clear blue skies, sunshine and an all round excellent day, enjoying this great weather.

Where are we today ?
Cool night great for sleeping. Early morning walkabouts amazing here, so quiet, clear skies, lotsa twinkling stars and mountains all around us. Wonderful flowers on the cactus and bushes around the campground.
So nice and quiet here right now, love it
Suzie wanted a Chiropractic adjustment today so called Sage Run at 8 am when they opened. Got an appointment for 9 am. Amazingly Dr. Lalonde recognized Suzie (its been 2-3 years) said you are fulltime rvers from Ontario Canada.
While she was there I whipped down the road used my free car wash coupon (from last year)to clean up our car. And Tom the owner came out to welcome me back to Benson. Really gotta love these small towns and all the friendly people. Picked up Suzie when she done and got a few groceries then back home.
Now here I buy a permit to wash our coach, ten bucks, get some of the road grime off after the 3,000 miles we have driven. I always start with the roof and work my way down, does not take long . But did our patio side first while in the shade. Stopped for a light lunch then finished the other side.
roof all nice and clean, good for the winter now
wonderful view from the roof, campground and mountains
Then John called from the rv place (Elite Sales and Service) up the road, the part for our step is in. Always get a good deal there as well as good service. List price $78.00 got it for $56.00, plus tax. ( I will install it at some point soon). So grabbed that and stopped at Safeway to pick up some Booze. Manager in the campground told me a good deal there so 18 cans Tecate beer $11.99 and 1.75 litres Canadian Whiskey $10.99 gotta do it!
Now time to relax and enjoy our e-readers in the shade for a while. What better way to enjoy this amazing weather?
gotta love it
coach all clean and shiny again
For Supper tonight gonna do up our Mini Gourmet ham that we picked up at Swiss Sausage and meat in Swiss Missouri. Of course with Ham Suzie wants scalloped potatoes. And no dirty pots and pans. Hey, I can do that on our Weber Q, I can do most anything on our Weber Q. For the easy scalloped potato recipe click HERE or my recipe blog on the top right sidebar.
excellent boneless ham

another favorite we can only find here is

oh so good
Now a flash from the past. Jan Mains mentioned  have we been to Gammons Gulch. Yes we have back in 2006 and a recount of the posting is below. It is definitely a fun place to visit and very worthwhile.  Below is my posting from way back then.

" Wed. Dec. 13, 2006
We took a drive north of Benson some 12 miles to Gammons Gulch. Real desert country. What a beautiful drive with scenery just like in the movies, dry river beds, cactus, sage brush, and cattle just roaming the range. There were signs warning you of animals on the road, some wire fences in the desert and cattle guards on the road that cattle will not cross but cars can. We arrived at Gammons Gulch and were met by Jay Gammons, he and his wife Joanne live right there in the Grand Hotel. This a real ghost town, western town and movie set, (six western movies filmed there last year). He has been building this town (his dream) for some 37 years. Authentique wood buildings and artifacts, also some reproductions all add to the atmosphere of a real western town. We had a completely narrated guided tour by Jay, with stories about almost every piece there, how they were acquired or built, pictures of him and his father with certain actors, his father was John Wayne's Bodyguard, and pictures of Jay in a Film as an extra for 3 days. The collection of old cars, most running and some restored, a collection of John Dillinger articles and guns. The old mine shaft and all. We wandered by ourselves later just to enjoy the quiet and the sun. Another worthwhile visit. Not commercialized too! Brng a picnic lunch, no food available here. You can check out his website by clicking HERE

  2. The warmth and sunshine always makes a person feel so much better. We've barely saw the sun the last couple of days.
