Where are we today ?
A great sleep last night and a cool morning until the sunrise, but then WOW! In shorts by 10 and with temps in the mid 70's by noon thats why we love southern Arizona. No cloud cover and the direct sun here is intense, all you need is a bit of shade and it's perfect.
A walkabout this huge park for a while enjoyed the wonderful sunrise over the mountains to the east of us. We don't see many sunsets here because of the tiered campground to the west, but that will come later when we are in more desert flat areas.
wonder where these huge boulders came from |
Love this one an adobe style |
1939 Mercury |
This arch is on the site beside us. Wonder how it stays that way, not fastened? |
very tasty, but somehow I made it too spicy for Suzie, oh no, more for me lol..! |
Brenda and Jerry |
Bikes good to go wherever for the winter, yes we need the shade, Suzie got a bit of a sunburn yesterday |
Cook supper earlier now as the sun is gone off our site by 5 pm and without the desert sun the temps drop from 75f to 55 f real quick and lower as the evening progresses.
works wonderful |
The catfish and salad sure hit the spot |
That was it for us just enjoyed being outside, warm weather, sunshine, walkabouts, and reading.
Thanks for all the comments and congrats on yesterday's posting with the arrival of our Newest Granddaughter.
Hope y'all had a wonderful day too.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Fall and Winter..
I had a 2 blog & 1 read day today and am happy to also offer my congratulations on your granddaughter addition. They grow up quick so enjoy...Sounds like an interesting park you are in at the moment. ..do folks buy/rent some sites to make their own? Are there restrictions on what you can build? The adobe building seems interesting...
ReplyDeleteThis is a co-op park people lease the lots and have restrictions on what they can build or do with them They can also have their lots available for rent as well. Not something we want to do . It is very nice organized, and very clean though , everyone here seems to love it.
DeleteI wonder if that rock arch holds together because of the exact correct amount of tension between the stones, Quite the feat to put it together.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been a challenge to assemble I would think.
DeleteThe first year we retired and went to FL for three months, we got our bikes all aired up and cleaned here in MI before we left. Big oops...with the heat the tires expanded and blew big holes. We thought we were getting shot at because we were sitting in a rest area eating lunch and the bikes were on the back of the moho and when they blew, it was loud. Lesson learned.
ReplyDeleteThe variations in temperature can do some damage if you are not careful.
DeleteWe do learm some lessons on our travels.
That's a great price to pay for a whole week at a nice RV park. I haven't found too many for $50 . Glad to hear weather is improving and hopefully it'll be perfect this winter for you.
ReplyDeleteThe weather is wonderful we just need to spend the whole winter in the southwest this year, we have our fingers crossed.
DeleteI think one of the reasons that there are so many old cars in Arizona is the fact that there isn't much rust.
ReplyDeleteThat's so true, dry climate, no snow, no salt on the roads sure makes a big difference.
DeleteNext time you are in Willis, let me know and I will try to get up to see you. One time I worked a contract job in Willis and it was close enough that I could come home for lunch on my lunch hour.
ReplyDeleteSounds great, will do.
DeleteThose temps sound perfect for me. Your fish always look so good, I've got to try that breading.
ReplyDeleteThink you can buy it on line, it is readily available in Canadian stores but have not seen it in the USA,
DeleteI wondered if that fish crisp was Canadian... then read through the comments... yep! Looks so good, too. It is 50 degrees here in Glen Rose, TX today... I envy you the warm!
ReplyDeleteWe stock up with Fish Crisp for the winter,
DeleteWe are loving the sunshine and warm days hope they keep coming.
