This morning I read a wonderful posting on a blog I read daily "Just Wanderin'" I think it says it all about "Someday", well worth the read. Last night we had an amazing thunderstorm, wow! Now I love thunderstorms the loud claps of thunder, wonderful light shows making the skies light up, such a show of the forces that the weather can bring to us. I don't much hear the thunder, but can feel the bed move when a loud clap scares Suzie and she jumps. What actually woke me up was the rain coming in the bedroom window and got my feet wet, good thing they were not under the blankets. Not sure how much rain we had but I think over one inch anyway. Puttered around for a bit relaxing my neck and back and a few stretches, then off to New Hamburg for a few groceries and stop by the Nith River Campgrounds to check out availability for the August long weekend , just might need the facilities if we are still in the area.

Back to the farm, putter around a bit enjoying our books in the shade for a while. Its nice not to have to travel very far today for a change.

One nice thing about the farm is the size of the backyard, it seems to go forever, sure not crowded here
nice huge backyard, off the kitchen
While enjoying a good book the day just slipped away, time to start supper. Tonight some potatoes in foil with butter and onions, cooked carrots, tossed salad and tender juicy smoked pork chops, really satisfied a craving we had today.
soo tasty
After the busy eventful week we have had, nice to take it a bit easier today. Sis is with ma at home today and apparently not needing my help so looks like all is good for now. Will stop by tomorrow and check things out.
Have said it before and will say it again, "Thanks for stopping by".
Check out the map below to see where we have been this summer
There certainly is a difference between the thunderstorms in the Pacific NW than the ones in the south. Our neighbors thought we were crazy when we lived in Texas and enjoyed watching them.
That was one big storm last night for sure!

ReplyDeleteNothing like a little excitement for the day or night.
DeleteMaybe that wet weather we were getting in England has headed your way. We love hearing the rain on the roof in the motorhome at night.
ReplyDeleteLooks like there is some good areas for hiking in your area. We hiked beside a lot of fields in Somerset.
