We ended up last night after supper around a wonderful campfire. And Happy hour carried on a very warm evening until about 9 pm when we headed home.
Bill got a nice fire going
So we grabbed out chairs and gathered around good friends Rob and Pat came out from their house in Durham and joined us as well, Their trailer is here but they have a few things to take care of there at the house yet
LR. Ken, Suzie,Rob, Bill, Patsy, Pat and Kim hiding in the smoke
As usually the conversation flowed , good stories, tips and laughs make for a fun evening around the campfire.
getting a bit darker
these ladies in deep conversation
then caught a nice sunset as it heading down
Another good nights sleep enjoyed this quiet dark area here with friends. Up before 6 am 66f coffees and computing done but overcast skies and a bit of rain so did not get out for much of a walkabout this morning.
In front of us Ken and Kim's car parked
Kim heading for a walkabout
Bill was puttering around in his Hanger so I stopped by to bother him and he gave me the tour, looks really awesome since he started to build it this time last year, pretty well finished and usable now. Bill show me his newest plane project the Telecast and it is a monster plane.
the tail section wow.
the body of the plane is 9.5 feet long
and the wing span is 15 feet
Then I took a quick trip to Durham for a few groceries and back home for a tasty lunch. Toasted BLT with these huge  beefsteak tomatoes. 1 slice covered the whole sandwich. wonderful.
nice mural at the main intersection in Durham
After lunch puttered around for a bit inside then outside started to rain again so put our stuff away and inside just in time for the rain to stop again at 1:30 sun shining and hoping the rain will be done for the day.
the view from their trailer across the pond
storm clouds heading this way but mostly missed us
We did get to relax outside for a while, Rob stopped by to chat them Bill and Ken joined in for a while catching up with each other.
the guys and Suzie chatting here
ladies over there girl stuff
 really not Suzie's style
Then 3 pm time for Happy hour and a fun time as usual, stories laughs and fun times we all enjoyed .
nice to enjoy a Happy hour together
About 5:30 I headed home to whip supper, preheat our Weber Q and grill the chops.
For supper tonight I made a Tomato, Onion  Cucumber salad with this fresh produce for that recipe yo can click HERE on my recipe blog top right sidebar. To go with a couple of pork chops on our Weber Q.
we do love this salad in season
just a few minutes a side and the chops juicy and tender
another great day and wonderful meal
Having fun with good friends, Rob and pat here camping again , dishes done and more social time later no doubt.
Glad that you dropped by and if we do more tonight you see it on tomorrow's posting.

Perfect weather for wrapping up our last day here.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Another great sleep . Having stayed awake until 10 pm last night because I was outside until 9 Pm enjoy the warm air and more of a wonderful sunset. I actually slept until 5:30 this morning, ah thats better but seems like a later start to my day, lol...
Got a nice morning walkabout , and what is going to be another wonderful day.
nice sunrise on the walking bridge
me and my long legged shadow
Finally at 9:30 Suzie had the laundry sorted so I took it into Wapa the nice new laundry they opened last year., or was it the year before? All wonderful front loading new machines, and completely redone. This place is spotless. The friendly lady there so helpful with this card system, I have chatted with her over the years. She has been working here for 9 years now. Probably as long as we have been coming here.
Laundry done and folded I was home in an hour by 10:30. Suzie put it all away. Then we had already decided to go for lunch our last day here. And the place we enjoy is the Lucky Steer, in particular their broasted chicken one of our favourite meals. They have a very extensive menu, but we need our broasted chicken fix, lol. They had All you can eat Fish and salad bar today, but we were here for the chicken. On Fridays they have all you can eat chicken and fish for less than 10 bucks , we had that last year, was excllent.
So we ordered the 3 piece chicken with fries and a side salad. what an excellent side salad , almost a meal1
a huge side salad included
3 pieces of chicken each and a fresh baked biscuit for me,
we know it was cooked to order chicken takes 20 minutes
very hot, oh my so good !
We enjoyed every bite but could not finish it, no problem left over chicken and buns is wonderful for tomorrows lunch. And all this food for less than 20 bucks. Worth it for a nice tasty treat . Our last day here. Bo supper tonight thats for sure, ws our pan anyway.
One of the nice things about this campground is we are less than 2 miles from most everything in Wapa, other then the old town. Back home by 12:30 dropped Dsuzie off, now I can head back over I-75 and pick up a few last minute groceries without dragging Suzie along, she hates shopping.
we have toured this museum many years ago
a wonderful place to visit some history
that I saw live way back when
Now back home once again. to put out Weber Q away, check our tires and oil on the coach, have a nice long hot shower, dump and flush our sewage then top up our fresh water tank that we will need back home.
Even lotsa time to relax outside enjoying our page turners, beside an afternoon campfire on a wonderful 68f sunny spring afternoon. Some one had left some nice firewood here and was a perfect day to use it up. First campfire this spring.
they have nice new fire pits here on every site
couple of hours later it burned down soon all gone
thanks whoever left it
The we hooked up our car having a nice pull through site so we don't have to do it in the predicted cold weather tomorrow morning. Just need to unplug power and away we go .
ready to head out in the morning
Ok we had a wonderful last day here, getting things done, enjoying the weather, a tasty, lunch, a campfire, even a happy hour for the 2 of us. Enjoying our page turners still outside at 7pm and 70 F here on our patio . I want to wrap up this posting and cheat with a late night sunset photo I took after last nights posting. Probably close to that again tonight. So I can get right back into my book.
such a colourful sunset
Thanks again for stopping by and following along with us. Glad you dropped in. Our last posting for this winter in the the USA and all the wonderful places we have been. Only about 300 miles or so tomorrow and a boarder crossing, back to new Hamburg for a couple of weeks, is our plan, but ya know things can  change.

Not a bad day at all. Warm , sunny. Home made soup and BBQ's ribs. works for us.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Not a bad day today at all. Most of the morning overcast and cool but no problem here. Got some early morning walkabouts done, and headed into Forest to pick up a new set of flannel sheets I found at the Red apple store. 1/2 price! Good deal and we use flannel sheets almost year round. Last set is over 2 years old so almost getting thread bare. $34.00 for new flannel sheets is a great deal and they are really nice too. Fluffy and warm.
Before I left I put the chicken bones from last nights supper on to make a nice soup brothe . Home by 10:30 to finish the soup with all my stuff and enjoy some nice chicken noodle soup for lunch and enough for a few more lunches as well. For my soup recipe you can click HERE or my recipe blog top right side bar.
a very tasty lunch sure hit the spot
After lunch another walkabout the park and an hour long workout at the fitness centre here was wonderful.
Home to enjoy our e-readrers on our sunny site, prepped some short pork ribs with sauerkraut to set on our Weber Q for at least 90 minutes.
what a nice sunny warm afternoon
shorts were needed today
ribs ready for the Q
another walkabout to check out the guys doing the tree
trimming here, way up there.
Then 3:30 Happy hour at our sunny site, about 8 of us here, sharing stories and flapping our gums.
nice to  share stories with our friends and meet new people as well
Then the ribs out of the foil and onto the grill mat, slathered with BBQ sauce to glaze them and finish off. The grill mat helps to keep the grill clean. For my Pork Rib recipe you can click HERE or my recipe blog top right side bar. Got these ribs on sale the other day, $2.30 for what we had tonight and still another meal in the freezer. Love the food specials when I can find them.
they are now done and fall off the bone tender
Ribs, Kraut and  salad makes for a very easy supper.
Just another wonderful day here enjoying a very nice warm sunny afternoon and chatting with some friends for a while and a tasty BBQ'd rib supper.
Then after supper we were invited over to Brian and June's for a campfire. Still not too cold  out and not much wind so we joined them for a while and enjoyed the ambiance and great conversation for an hour or so. Then eventually it got chilly and damp so home by 8:30 pm.
our first campfire this year in Ontario.
we bundled up and quite cozy for a while
temps still in the high 50's F
headed home and caught a bit of a sunset
in the trees to the west of us
Thanks for stopping on by and hope that y'all had a great day too!

Farmer's Market, Strawberry Social and a campfire with neighbors.

Where are we today ?
clic on a pic to enlarge it
Just another wonderful warm sunny summer like day. Got the coffees consumed, computing done,  a nice walkabout town and down by the river about 7 am. then 7:45 a quick trip to No Frills in New Hamburg for some food stuffs to put together a Father's Day lunch tomorrow for Suzie's Dad right here at Camp Awesome.
love it down the street
by the river, so peaceful
At 9 am we headed to The St. Jacobs Farmer's Market, about 25 minutes away. This is one huge market and one of our favorites, If you have followed us for a while you will know. I have been coming here for over 40 years and it just keeps expanding. We do know when to get there and what vendors we are looking for, so is a pretty easy process. When the crowds are less we  explore a bit more.
In season right now is Strawberries and Rhubarb and all so good, lots of other great things too.
Then inside for to Hilltop Farms for our wonderful Turkey Garlic sausage that we love. Even at 9:30 there is a lineup with about a dozen staff serving people.
This is the stuff, need to be early
or they will be sold out.
No more inside crowds for us , just wander about outside, the buskers at in their circles doing their thing and adding to the atmosphere always fun to watch.
The other Vendor I always look for is the Pepperette Guy ( Kinda Like Pepperonis) I like to stock up with the extra hot ones, they are so tasty and just enough heat for me, too hot for many though. He sets up here and at Grand Bend Pinery Market.
local Maple Syrup, so good
Mexican too
horse drawn  carriage tours
We hime for a light lunch then after a dip in the pool go to New Hamburg visit Suzie's Dad, Strawberry Social there at the retirement home. always a huge event, quite a few hundred people come to share with their relatives. And of course we know so many there as well. Suzie's Dad volunteered to help hulling the berries this morning, gave him a good workout I am sure.
huge helping Strawberries, ice cream and cake
oh so good
good crowd here
Suzie and her Dad, so happy
Ok home we go still pretty hot so another dip in the pool, Even Suzie too. Now you know it's hot when she goes in the pool, so nice and refreshing.
A later supper than usual grilled a couple pork steak local asparagus and a small salad. Di not need much after the Strawberry social this afternoon. The chops aren't that big lotsa bone.
Yummy
After supper enjoying this wonderful warm weather outside. When the neighbors Helen and Barry yelled over to join them for a campfire! Well heck we are not ones to turn down a campfire and its been a long time since we did that with them, camping days many , many years ago.
No problem away we go and enjoy their wonderful landscaped yard and roaring fire. Of course we did solve many more world problems as well. Just That nobody listens.
Such a super couple
No we ended up having a busy fun day after all. when we started with nothing to do amazing how the days just happen.
Thanks for stopping by again, nice to hear from y'all.

Father's Day tomorrow and thinking so wonderful memories on my Dad.
My father passed away many years ago and sure do miss him think of him almost every day.

My Dad, such a wonderful guy, so many great memories
