Another great day in paradise. Living the life we enjoy.

Where are we today ?
clic the pic to enlarge it.
No more storms over night just a light rain off and on and more very warm temperatures just the kind of weather we are here for,
Not a sunny day to start but again very warm and my  first walkabout at 7:30 am as the sun was trying to make its way through the clouds, not much luck for a few hours yet.
with the rain the water level in the 3 rivers has risen
So now they have the signs up just in case, a good safety measure here in the park.
Chatted with our neighbour Larry we met last night from Michigan, at Lamar's singing, He has a similar coach to ours a 1999 Monico  and has his tv antenna up gets almost 50 channels , we are getting none? They had the same issue and just ran a cable from the antenna inside, Hmm ok I will check that out today. Did that and found  a cable at the bottom of the antenna broken so , I fooled around and actually with some new connectors and tape we now have our our antenna tv working , this is what we need for local tv weather,  Hey thanks for the tip Larry works like a charm now. Nothing like this lifestyle meeting new people and discussing issues, Makes our life much better.
Another walkabout after lunch and spotted some nice blue, spring flowers around the park, Now we know spring is in the air !
don;t think these are Texas Blue Bonnets but they are very nice
Sunday afternoon the cabins, as well as the campground is emptying out and some are very nice looking places stay in the cabins.
they have a nice patio overlooking the rivers
Neighbour across from us was packing up their trailer and  ask him what year it was . A 1974 Silver Streak they have had for many years and is still all original every thing works, including their air conditioner . except their propane furnace What an mazing trailer this is one of the really good ones made way back when. The first one was made in 1949 think they stopped making them in 2000.
they still use it a lot bit don;t travel far
love the door in the door is a screen door, too cool
inside is very nice and still all original
this is in amazing shape for being all original
Another walkabout I spotted some wild animals! Ok just a couple of squirrels and a woodpecker but they are still wild right?

We had a very nice afternoon outside reading until at 3 pm we had sprinkles of rain, , Ok only for 10 minutes then we are back outside and the temps did get to 80 F (26C) in the shade,= perfect.
Not a bad day after all exactly as the weather Gods predicted.
So for super tonight we are going to enjoy some fried Catfish with fresh cut fries all done in our FryDaddy, and grilled the rest of our fresh asparagus wrapped in bacon  just because it was so good last night.
fries almost done
Keep the fries warm on our Weber  Q as we grill the asparagus and fry the catfish .
all done was perfect
This was awesome and sure took care of our catfish craving for a short while
Below is a few pics I took yesterday around Glen Rose the farmers market and the Big Rocks Park with perfect weather and both great places to explore when in the area.
a small market in the town square
Now the big Rocks park is amazing and so many kids in the water with this excellent weather . I was tempted to join them and play, but I guess I would have been out of place and did not have my swim suit anyway. Not only that Suzie was not there to rescue me.
Just another wonderful day in the life of us wandering nomads .
Thanks for joining us in our adventures ,

  4. Glad you got the local antenna fixed. That is a nice Silver Streak. Don't see them very often anymore.

We had a sunny but cool day here. Glad it is a one day event. Not ready for cold yet. Beautiful park you're staying in.

    1. Yes the spring flowers are so nice to see. Soon you will have them there.
Apparently that Silver Streak is 5,900 lbs, don't think that is too bad.

  6. Interesting old Silver Streak for sure. It looks really long in one of your pictures and cool that it is original.
Love those little blue bell flowers, they are here too.
Continue to enjoy your time there! Lots of children during the spring break!

    1. It is only 32 feet long thought it was longer and this is a real retro trailer. These blue flowers are actually grape hyacinths.
The children are all gone now, pretty quiet here now.

  8. That 1974 trailer is in really nice shape. Goes to show that with some TLC, RVs can last a long time. Sort of just like yours! ;c)

  9. Grape Hyacinths would be my guess on the flowers as well. We also have them in Ontario, I had them in a couple of flower beds back in my stix ' brix place.

Love the SS. Great shape. Amazing how well things lasted back then isn't it? Built to last too not just flashy in the moment.

Enjoyed the market tour and the Big Rocks Park as well. Wise choice not to go in the water without Suzie around, those kids may not have rescued you!!

Enjoy your time in Glen Rose.

  10. The 44 year old trailer looks darn good, especially on the inside. Things used to be built better - Bev's mom had a freezer for 50+ years.
