No much sun but not a bad day at all. We enjoyed it !

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Another mild night for sleeping but not great weather forecast today. Mostly overcast, a bit windy and showers off and on. But I did get a nice walkabout first thing, felt great as always. And spotted Patsy heading back already. We waved and carried on.
so quiet here in the early morning
Then a quick trip into Grove for a few more grocery supplies. The sun tried to peek out but only for a short while. Temps most of the day in the low 60's F. after lunch I managed a few more walkabouts got just over 3 miles in today so that feels good. And checked out the clubhouse, a very nice facility they have here as well. Tried to get Suzie to play pool with me but no luck.
table tennis nice room to play
this hockey thing is cool
the pool table looks inviting
they even have a theatre here as well
a nice large theatre screen too
Then a walkabout down by the floating fishing dock. Now this is very cool!  After chatting with my sister for a while about rv stuff. Nice to touch base with her when we can.
the walkway to the fishing cabin
inside like an ice fishing hut
The inside has lights, benches, an electric heater, and you can go outside to fish there as well, Now how cool it that ?
wanna fish outside? no problem
lights and a heater, now that is comfort
walkway back to land
this guy fishing just off the shore in his boat
nice boat launch ramp by the fishing hut
Heading back home got a picture of these wildflowers  in the lawn here, can not find out what they are.
any idea?
up close any ideas?
But it did get to 68 F about 2 pm and we enjoyed reading outside for a while until we had some rain sprinkles again about 3:45, after a bit another walkabout then home to begin supper. A small salad and a Chorizo Burger for me and Turkey burger for Suzie  all dressed up on an English muffin.
Chatted with Bill and Clemson for a few minutes, really not nice enough to hang outside to much . But the rain let up enough for us to grill supper on our Weber Q.
burgers about done and warm the English muffins in foil
burgers loaded sure did hit the spot
Here it is after 7 pm still drizzling 63 F overcast and no sign of a sunset happening tonight, so will sign off and call this a pretty decent day after all.
Thanks for stopping on by and hope you enjoyed your day as well.

  1. Here you go George. Henbit –– Lamium amplexicaule
Opposite leaves are broadly egg-shaped with toothed margins and prominent veins on the underside. Can grow to 16”. Stems are sparsely hairy, green to purple, and square. Flowers are reddish purple with darker coloring on lower petals arranged in whorls in the upper leaves.Henbit –– Lamium amplexicaule

    1. Thanks Sue I figured you would know, much appreciated, very interesting the way they grow almost like ground cover.
And I checked them out, they are edible too.

  3. Looks like another relaxing day. May have some rain for a few days, but at least it will be fairly warm.

That purple plant is a weed called creeping charlie. I have them in my yard each spring and they are hard to kill. They will grow like a vine along the ground and kill your grass. They are pretty though.

    1. It was a nice relaxing day and that is just fine with us.
I had creeping charlie at home but this is somewhat different. I checked both plants and It looks a lot more like the Henbit that Sue described, They are both from the mint family and are edible.

  5. On a deary day take the e-reader along and do some fishing, the hut is an interesting touch. Do they offer DVDs for their theater? Another interesting touch. I'm sure the grand-kids know your 'hockey thing' is a foosball table. Give it a try, it's kinda fun.

    1. It is a wonderful park and a nice fishing hut if you are into fishing. I love turkey burgers as well, but also enjoy a nice spicey Chorizo burger, from the store made chorizo I can get in southern Atizona.

  8. My father would look at any plant and say, "What kind of tulip is this?" I like the fishing shack, but I don't enjoy fishing either, I'd rather cook em and eat em after some else catches and cleans em.

  10. Ah, henbit. A noxious weed in my opinion when it is growing in my flower beds or yard (which it is) but I will have to admit fields of blooming henbit viewed from the road are pretty. I've heard it works best to spray it in Fall/early winter. If left alone it dies off as soon as it is hot.

    1. I see where it could be a nuisance in a garden but the fields do look very nice.
We have no more gardens so not an issue for us.

  11. Making the best of these days is what you learn really quickly. Especially when we know we are going home to some not so nice stuff. :)
Glad for the purple flower name but I'll never remember it as anything other than the beautiful purple flowers.
I also got a lot of walks in yesterday so chocked up over 4 miles with some very nice jaunts.

    1. Always something we can do, we did a lot of these days back home in the winter months, We can research, read, watch a tv show or 2, cook a nice meal whatever. Nice to know what those purple flowers are Henbit and are edible. It was a good day for walkabouts between the rain drops.
