Where are we today ?
clic the pic to enlarge it.
No more storms over night just a light rain off and on and more very warm temperatures just the kind of weather we are here for,Not a sunny day to start but again very warm and my first walkabout at 7:30 am as the sun was trying to make its way through the clouds, not much luck for a few hours yet.
with the rain the water level in the 3 rivers has risen |
So now they have the signs up just in case, a good safety measure here in the park.
Chatted with our neighbour Larry we met last night from Michigan, at Lamar's singing, He has a similar coach to ours a 1999 Monico and has his tv antenna up gets almost 50 channels , we are getting none? They had the same issue and just ran a cable from the antenna inside, Hmm ok I will check that out today. Did that and found a cable at the bottom of the antenna broken so , I fooled around and actually with some new connectors and tape we now have our our antenna tv working , this is what we need for local tv weather, Hey thanks for the tip Larry works like a charm now. Nothing like this lifestyle meeting new people and discussing issues, Makes our life much better.
Another walkabout after lunch and spotted some nice blue, spring flowers around the park, Now we know spring is in the air !
don;t think these are Texas Blue Bonnets but they are very nice |
they have a nice patio overlooking the rivers |
they still use it a lot bit don;t travel far |
love the door in the door is a screen door, too cool |
inside is very nice and still all original |
this is in amazing shape for being all original |
We had a very nice afternoon outside reading until at 3 pm we had sprinkles of rain, , Ok only for 10 minutes then we are back outside and the temps did get to 80 F (26C) in the shade,= perfect.
Not a bad day after all exactly as the weather Gods predicted.
So for super tonight we are going to enjoy some fried Catfish with fresh cut fries all done in our FryDaddy, and grilled the rest of our fresh asparagus wrapped in bacon just because it was so good last night.
fries almost done |
all done was perfect |
This was awesome and sure took care of our catfish craving for a short while |
a small market in the town square |
Now the big Rocks park is amazing and so many kids in the water with this excellent weather . I was tempted to join them and play, but I guess I would have been out of place and did not have my swim suit anyway. Not only that Suzie was not there to rescue me.
Just another wonderful day in the life of us wandering nomads .Thanks for joining us in our adventures ,

Where have we been this winter ?
The Silver Streak looks to be in excellent condition. The interior is impressive!! They sure made them good back then!!!
ReplyDeleteYes they sure did, it is very impressive for an older well made trailer,
DeleteBlue flowers are grape hyacinths.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment Corky glad to have you along.
Delete......bacon wrapped asparagus........home made French fries........catfish.........
ReplyDelete“Lead me not unto temptation!”
:)
Thanks
Thanks gumo it was Heavenly...
DeleteGlad you got the local antenna fixed. That is a nice Silver Streak. Don't see them very often anymore.
ReplyDeleteWe had a sunny but cool day here. Glad it is a one day event. Not ready for cold yet. Beautiful park you're staying in.
Thanks Doug really enjoy it here , we need the antenna to get the local weather storm warnings etc,,,Hope it does warm up for you too soon to be cold
DeleteNice to see the spring flowers. Wish we had them by now. Instead, yet another snowstorm is looming. And very cold again. Love that old Silver Streak trailer. Must be haevy to pull though.
ReplyDeleteYes the spring flowers are so nice to see. Soon you will have them there.
DeleteApparently that Silver Streak is 5,900 lbs, don't think that is too bad.
Interesting old Silver Streak for sure. It looks really long in one of your pictures and cool that it is original.
ReplyDeleteLove those little blue bell flowers, they are here too.
Continue to enjoy your time there! Lots of children during the spring break!
It is only 32 feet long thought it was longer and this is a real retro trailer. These blue flowers are actually grape hyacinths.
DeleteThe children are all gone now, pretty quiet here now.
Yikes .... the river, she's rising! Hope you don't get your feet wet. What a fun park and river to play in. And dinner .... well it's fabulous looking as usual.
ReplyDeleteThanks Nancy, the river is rising, but we fine right here. Dinner was very tasty.
DeleteThat 1974 trailer is in really nice shape. Goes to show that with some TLC, RVs can last a long time. Sort of just like yours! ;c)
ReplyDeleteIt is in nice shape the TLC sure pays off.
DeleteGrape Hyacinths would be my guess on the flowers as well. We also have them in Ontario, I had them in a couple of flower beds back in my stix ' brix place.
ReplyDeleteLove the SS. Great shape. Amazing how well things lasted back then isn't it? Built to last too not just flashy in the moment.
Enjoyed the market tour and the Big Rocks Park as well. Wise choice not to go in the water without Suzie around, those kids may not have rescued you!!
Enjoy your time in Glen Rose.
We used to have them as well in one of our houses.
DeleteThey did build this better back then for sure.
I don't think Suzie would rescue me she does not sim , lol, just watch me float away I think.
Thanks, We always enjoy it here in Glen Rose.
The 44 year old trailer looks darn good, especially on the inside. Things used to be built better - Bev's mom had a freezer for 50+ years.
ReplyDeleteYes it does look very good shape . They sure did build things better bad then
DeleteI love that Big Rocks Park..looks like fun! That Silver Streak is awesome! Catfish dinner looks tasty too! Looks like a nice relaxing time! Hope the weather was good today!
ReplyDeleteThis is an area we really enjoy, Loved the Silver Streak too. Ww do love catfish it so tasty. And todays weather perfect !
