Wonderful warm sunny day, clean up our Weber Q and Darts tonight

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Just another day in paradise. Warm overnight, windows open for a nice cool fresh air sleep. The morning walkabouts were wonderful already in shorts at 7 am , gotta love this weather !  Chat with a few people here and there then just after 9 am a nice country drive to Forest for a few supplies.
the squirrels in the square behind us
having a feast
Home for lunch then set to work giving our Weber Q a good cleaning. This cleaning was in depth and took me about 2 hours. But did give good results. The grill gets a lot of baked on carbon and the best way to clean it is with a couple of strong putty knives, narrow screwdriver and a hammer.
Scrape, and hammer away remove the burner, clean it up and soon looks like new again. This took me almost 2 hours, but heck I do have the time and the weather outside is perfect for this.
pretty dirty
used these tools to hack away at the grill
under is built up too
When done I coated the grill with vegetable oil and heated  it up to season it once again. Just like a cast iron frying pan and will keep it from rusting.
now looks like new again
Now have time to enjoy our e-readers for a while in the shade. Was gonna do the wonderful fitness centre here today, but figured I did enough today, maybe tomorrow.
perfect spot to relax and read
Then about 3:30 Paul (without Judy) and Monique (without Emile) joined us for happy hour. We always have Happy hour with or without company. Nice to chat with these guys for a while sharing stories and tips. Then about  5 pm I headed in to whip up a salad to go with a couple of grilled cod fillets.
Wanna get supper and dishes done so we can head down for darts at 6:45 tonight. The temperature today did get to 85 f not too bad at all and clear blue skies almost like Arizona but more humid than the desert.
cold fillets on the Q
add to the salad was so tasty
doggie fix for Suzie when Freddy stopped by
Now down for darts, alway fun and lotsa laughs. we had a good night and Suzie on my team. Ended  up all 4 teams went to the playoffs. but we did not place, it was close., but no matter we had too much fun.
Suzie doing her stuff
Gerry in good form too
Darts done and home just after 9 pm. finish this posting a gonna call it a night.
Thanks for stopping in for a look see.

    1. Cleaning the grill will take a while depending on how bad it is.As you know ours gets a lot of use and the carbon really builds up.
Darts is always fun to play and test your skill.
