Weather today about the same as yesterday, overcast , a cool breeze got up to 64 F (17c) would have been pretty nice if we had some sunshine, nadda. But,, no complaints here. We just added an extra layer or two and enjoyed the fresh air and some exercise outside most of the day.Because of this cool weather I pulled some chicken bones and leftover cooked chicken out of the freezer and whipped up a nice pot of homemade chicken noodle soup, for our lunches. After a couple of nice refreshing morning walkabouts.
makes our house smell yummy |
perfect day for homemade soup warmed us up then we can sit outside and read, |
not too windy here , and every once in while a bit of sunshine |
Just after 4 pm good friends pulled into the campground, George and Roseanne. We camped at their place in Lake Havasu last fall and had a fun time there exploring the area, also saw them in Quartzsite AZ as well. So nice to see them again and do some catching up.
Then soon time for supper. Tonight a couple of shrimp burgers that we tried a week or so ago and we both really enjoyed them. As I was making the salad Suzie suggested that I make some Shrimp sauce to go on them ! Now this is the scary part I was just about to ask her if she wanted me to make some. She can read my mind ! Oh my .....

Where have we been this summer ?
Uh, oh, she's reading your mind? You need to buy her more books for her e-reader. ;c)
ReplyDeleteHmm, this is not the first time this has happened either, maybe we have a bluetooth connection?
DeleteAlways nice to be able to spend time outside even if you do need a jacket.
ReplyDeleteWe tried your rib recipe on Sunday for dinner. Tom slow cooked them for a couple of hours then did the barbecue sauce slather and they were fall off the bone delicious. Thank you for sharing that recipe.
The weather not too bad at least it's not snowing !
DeleteGlad you enjoyed the ribs, The sauerkraut does add a special flavour, I like then much better than boiling them, the brown sugar makes the sauce sticky, finger licking good.
Summer arrives Wednesday, today! Yay! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYes we sure will as will you guys, enjoy !
DeleteShrimp sauce? Is that your version of cocktail sauce? We bring back several kilos of Mexican shrimp when we go, always looking for a new recipe for them, but did not see this in your folder. If it's not a secret sauce, can you share? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteNo problem Jeff, not a secret, shrimp sauce, cocktail sauce I have always made my own, pretty easy. some ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice and tobasco sauce to taste, made it for years in my restaurant , simple easy quick and make as spicy as you like.
