Again not a bad night at all windows open with a nice breeze was wonderful. Today ( am remembering my mother (MA)Last year on this day we get together with her to celebrate her 89th birthday at her extended stay facility in Lindsay Ontario. she was not well but was still glad to see us, me, my sister, brother and our spouses. with cake, candles and decorations . But sadly she passed on January 6th this year, my brother's birthday. We flew home from California for the funeral. Sad to see her go, with so many memories and will always miss her.

About 8:30 I made trip to Sarnia Home depot to pick up the new flooring and trim for our coach. Home by 10':30 All set to go I thought. After a light lunch I did a bit more prep work and check things out . I bought the wrong colour stair nose and carpet transitions.. Hm, A quick trip back to exchange for the right stuff. In the meantime your friend Walt showed up at 1 pm to begin the process. I got back just after 2 and he was well under way. He had removed some of the carpet and was beginning to work on the entry stairs to the coach. But I had the flooring in the car.
I got here in time and he carried on with doing the entry stairs.

Where have we been this summer ?
I understand you missing your mom, my mom passed away in 2010. Thank goodness for pictures and good memories.
ReplyDeleteYes the pictures and great memories are things we can treasure.
DeleteNO CARPET is definitely the way to go.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is will be glad when its done.
DeleteNew flooring looks great, anxious to see the finished reno.
ReplyDeleteIt sure will be nice.
DeleteI love the new flooring - couldn't remember you talking about Walt - is he a friend? Or a tradesman who does installs? I'm wondering if and when I put in new flooring, who I'll get to install it. I was just in Bluewater Lake State Park with lots of oozing pine trees. By the time I left, there were a bunch of small spots from the pine tar all over my carpet. Hard to get it out, and it looks terrible. Would have been an easy clean-up with your new floors. :)
ReplyDeleteWalt has become a friend, he has a seasonal site here in this park, And is a handy man, he has done a lot of flooring that I have seen and does an excellent job.Who to get to install it is a hard one, that's why it took us so long.
DeleteNo sense in burn-out. A little a day makes it easier on you and what else would you do anyway? Looks like a great job and I really like the light color of the flooring.
ReplyDeleteWalt is doing most of the work, he works hard, did not start until 1pm because he was finishing up another flooring job.
DeleteGeorge,
ReplyDeleteThe flooring project is really starting to take shape and looking good! It makes all the difference.
I know how it is to miss our loved ones. My father died of a stroke at the age of 92. Lived on a farm and was active right up till the end. My mother went unexpectedly at the age of 73. Way too soon but she smoked and wouldn't quit.
It's a sad milestone in our lives when our parents pass on.
Thank God we have good memories because a lot of people do not. My father taught me everything about fishing and even how to tie lures and darts, and darned if I don't love to fish even to this day. I love to find campgrounds that have a "fishing hole".
Karen
We do miss them , but no one knows when their number is up. They have a fishing pond here, catch and release only. Lots fish.
DeleteWalt sure is a great guy and does awesome work.
