Where are we today ?

First maintenance today was my early morning walkabout, maintain my body. Only an mile or so but better than none. Of course after my morning oatmeal to give me energy for the walkabout.
Next was to drain and flush our hot water tank I like to do this this once a year. And a perfect day to do it. Water tank cooled down over night so pull the plug and give it a good rinse with my wand, lotsa calcium rinsed out. This is an Atwood water tank so no anode rod required. This tank is 18 years old and still does a great job.
tanks drained and flushed |
then install a new plastic plug, always a new one, I tried reusing then and have broken off 2, lesson learned. |
the filter sure does its job, new one on the right I am sure you can figure that out |
filter reinstalled in our compartment |
After lunch more walkabouts just to keep my body moving, and then to relax and maintain our reading skills and our fresh air intake as well as some more vitamin D. Need that as well for energy maintenance.

Where have we been this summer ?
I have the same water heater and know what you mean about using a new drain plug. An ounce of prevention... ;c)
ReplyDeleteYes it sure does pay off in the long run.
DeleteSounds like you're living the life of Reilly!
ReplyDeleteWe loving it and no complaints here.
DeleteJim flushes our hot water and changes filters once a year on both our rigs. Good maintenance. We have hot dogs and Bush's baked beans. We prefer the original also.
ReplyDeleteGood idea to do these on a regular schedule. Love the Bushes original, so tasty.
DeleteWe're on the same maintenance schedule, flushed the heater today ... BUT the plug I bought was the wrong size! OH-oh, I put the original back in. Guess I better correct that before our roadtrip. Also had a Costco hot dog for dinner - sans peanut butter :) June Gloom here, sure miss your sunshine!
ReplyDeleteWe loving the sunshine finally, hope you don't have and issue with the reinstalled plug. Costco hot dog is nice too.
DeleteGotta love those Bush's beans! Keep up all the good maintenance.
ReplyDeleteYup they are very good, sure does the trick. We want our things to last so maintenance really helps.
DeleteI hate maintenance issues. It's a good thing when you can fix yourself though and not pay a mechanic. Sounds like life is still good.
ReplyDeleteI like to do as much as possible when I have the time, which is most days.
DeleteYep, always a good thing to maintain the mind, body and soul and also the motorhome! By doing that you avoid possible breakdowns later on, both with yourself and the RV. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes thats what we try to keep on top of, sure pays off.
DeleteYou're a fine tuned well lubed machine George!
ReplyDeleteLOl, I do my best to keep things running smoothly.
DeleteGreat day for sure thanks for coming over for cake........Paul
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul, glad to enjoy the celebration with you guys, the cake was amazing ! As was meeting new friends.
