clic a pic to enlarge it
Now again this weather is amazing . Got my shorts and t shirt on first thing and nice peaceful walkabout the campground, Gotta get these steps in ya know. The mourning doves cooing and some flowers blooming just waiting for me to take a picture, Glad that I carry my camera all the time in my vest.
the valley is so quiet right now
Then about 9 am I headed into Forest for the Friday Farmer's Market. In particular to pick up some wonderful fresh Organic Strawberries. And the one baker there had some fresh baked Cranberry Lemon scones that we enjoy.
It is a small market, but then Forest is a small town. Couple of vendors I like to visit here.
love these  fresh picked strawberries
so sweet and juicy
Having an issue with my favourite chair again. It is over 20 years old, a gift from Suzie's Mom and Dad kinda showing it's age but still fixable for now. Easy fix , I have an old shovel handle that I can whittle down to fit inside the thin aluminum tubing and get it all back together again.
Oops broken
this will fit inside and make like new again
almost like new
good to go for a few more years
Another wonderful day enjoying our e-readers for a while only got to 76f but gonna get much hotter for the next while.
sitting in the shade is quite comfortable
About 3:30 a few friends stopped in to join us for Happy Hour. Sharing stories and tips, exchange information is always fun.
Emile just pulled in and knows where to come
he was up north fishing with his buddies for  a week
always fun to chat for a bit with these guys,or
whoever shows up, everyone welcome here
Suzie had decided she is making supper tonight so we ordered a pizza from around the corner at the Country Cafe in Arkona. We had heard that Sue makes great pizza there so had to  give it a try, just cause we can and Suzie said so.
We ordered a meat lovers pizza with Mushrooms and tomatoes on it. And I am telling you it was amazing. Pretty close to the pizzas I made in my restaurant with hand stretched dough, lots of toppings and cooked to perfection. I think may have even been better than Silly Al's in Quartzite or a good tie at least.
awesome pizza. olives and hot peppers on my half
no way could  we finish this Med pizza, lots left for tomorrow's lunch
Supper done and still a wonderful evening so we headed to to Rose and George's for a campfire we were invited to. Joined by Emile and Monique again more tall tales and laughs around a campfire on a very warm spring evening.
Thanks Guys for having us over
Soon time to head home and call it a night. With early mornings that I enjoy the nights usually end pretty early as well. No problem, thats the way we like it, or at least me anyway.
Glad that y'all stopped by and hope you are having some pretty decent weather as well.

Where have we been this summer ?

  2. Crikey ..... you should let Suzie cook more often ..... that pizza looks amazing. I'd sure like to get my chopped into that. AND you said that market was small. Fair dinkum??? Looks might big to me. Mum says to tell you she likes your handiwork with the chair. People just throw treasures like that away these days but as you say there's plenty more wear in that one and it was a gift from Suzie's folks so it holds nice memories, aye??

    1. She made an awesome choice supper eh Charlie ? We have been to much larger markets so this was small in comparison. A lots if things are fixable if you take the time, and I enjoy the challenge. Lots of great memories

    1. Thanks I like to putter around and fix what I can. We do love Silly Al's thought it was the best we have found for years, but this tops them.

  7. Good to see there are actually craftsmen around that can actually FIX things instead of tossing them away. You're one of the few! :c)

    1. Thanks Guys, I do like to at least fix things, when I can, why waste a good product and send to the landfill? Something I have done all my life.

  8. Long time reader of blog, first time poster....love you both loving your life style. Nothing better!! Also love that you fix, rather than throw good away. Suzie would love my two std. poodles. Hope the pic attaches. :-) Been following you two and others for a couple years now hoping to do same. Not sure I could take cold desert nights however, I am a FL lady. I know how to keep bugs away, while keeping warmth by. LOL May do AZ in fall or Spring sometime, otherwise? FL for me. Love your blogs!

    1. Thanks for stopping by and making comment . Fixing is good when I can but we find Florida, to humid too amy bugs and way too busy for what we enjoy, That's why there is so many places to explore and spend time in the southwest. As long as we don't see snow and traffic we are good.
