Love Mondays, the beginning of a brand new week!

Where are we today ?
Well heck snow's gone and it's gonna be nicer weather. Not sure how much nicer but we will take what we can get.
After my Plattsville drive and home by 8:30 this morning I worked on our ham soup base I made last night. Out of the fridge, skim the fat and whip up a ham and bean soup. My favorite is Hurst's Ham Beans. Their 15 bean soup mix I have only found in the States. It is easy quick and very tasty. recipe right on the bag so no need to tell you how to make it, just need to find it in the stores.
skim the fat off
this be the stuff
couple hours later we have soup for lunch,
and a few more too, yummy
This morning had a few family members and some women from the church over to sort out some stuff. Some things went to the church, couple car loads to the thrift store and some to the recycle and garbage. We are making progress.
By early afternoon we pretty well done working for the day, 5 hours is enough for us retired people. Suzie worked on the down stairs Kitchen for a few hours too, stuff has been removed and sorted.
I did a short walkabout in this nice sunny weather then back to put my feet up for 1/2 hour or so and actually get some reading done. Yippee!! Looking forward to more reading in the near future.
Snow gone again and nice day for a walkabout,
but my energy levels had depleted , so only 1 mile today.
Well time to whip up supper, and gonna be back to eating what makes us fell good, fish and a salad.
Using Basa fillets, fried in coconut oil coated with Rocky Madsen's Fish crisp, (Suzie's request again). This is a very tasty coating but I believe only available on line in the USA. The Basa we did not find in the USA either but is very similar to catfish, love it!
Quick easy and very tasty
That was it for another productive day, sorting and purging, we getting there.
Hope the sun was shining on your campsite today, was on ours.
       Thanks for the visit.

Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this past Winter.

  1. Glad to hear that you are making progress at purging in the house and that the weather is finally starting to improve. You and Suzie will be back home before you know it.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

    1. They are very active in the church and everyone knows the family. Just moving right along, still a long way to go.

  3. It does take a lot of personal time and much energy to do what you are doing. I have recently completed that task and wish you all the support that the Universe has to offer.

  4. That's great news that the snow is gone. Now we have to hope it will stay gone so those nice sunny days come back.

  5. OK George, you have got rid of the snow for us...now work on getting the temperatures up where they should be! Will be home in less than 3 weeks!

    1. Oh it will be above freezing in three weeks, but that's the best I can do for you. The rest is a crap shoot.

  7. Dinner looks good but I think I'll go back thru your blog to the last time you fried fish - it may take me awhile though :-)

    1. Just type fish crisp in the search top right sidebar. Pretty easy just thaw fish, moisten, (I used water) coat with the fish crisp and I fried it in coconut oil EVOO until nicely browned. Very tasty.
