Colder and more snow!

Where are we today ?
Last night after supper we were getting some blowing snow a bit. Got up this morning and this is what we saw! Yuk!!!
the rear deck this morning
Our poor car
Then the drive to Plattsville roads kinda iffy, and I got stuck behind a salt/sanding truck for a while at 20 kms/hr  (12 mph).  Spreading that salt and sand solution on the roads to make them safer for driving/ saving lives but destroying our vehicles. Our lives are much more important than the coast of a new vehicle.
pretty slippery in spots
After more cleaning and purging this morning (mostly Suzie) we joined her Dad at his retirement place for a very tasty lunch. My choice was the cabbage roll casserole, asparagus, tea biscuit, juice, coffee, water and and a fruit salad for desert.
After that great lunch, looks like we won't need much for supper tonight.
So although it looks like a lot its mostly salad, fruit and veggies. And 1/2 of a BBQ'd chicken breast from a chicken we had the other night. I searched for recipe ideas and came up with few, modified them to what we had on hand and like, this is what I came up with very tasty and definitely will do again. Click HERE for the recipe (Chicken Balsamic Salad) or you can find it on my recipe blog top right sidebar.
I made up the salad and let marinade in the fridge then headed over to the Wilmot Centre and logged on a couple more miles at the free indoor walking track. Just too cold outside with temps up to 1c (34f) and wind chill at -15c (5f), not fun being outside.
very tasty, and not too filling
That was another productive day here, too cold, but much warmer than it was. Gonna clear up over the weekend and be nice again.
We take it as it comes right now, just plugging along.
Thanks for stopping by again too.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this past Winter.

  1. What? Did I read this right? You're really getting snow? It's time for Spring to be there and that means spring flowers not snow.

  3. Yep, pretty discouraging to see that snow coming down Wednesday alright. Cold & damp is not good for we folks with arthritis either.
