April showers (and freezing rain) bring May flowers.

Where are we today ?
Got up this morning to freezing rain, (yuk). Well the weather guessers were right. At 7 am ready to head to Plattsville, but the car had a huge coat of ice on it. So just started it up, defroster on high and back in the house for 12 minutes of or so (sure do miss the remote start that we had on both cars when we lived here year round.) Temps right about freezing all day, but the cold east wind makes it feel much colder.
There is ice on the vehicles, house, sidewalks  but not on the roads, So off I went for my morning drive in the country to Plattsville. Chat with the guys for a while then back to New Hamburg.
ice sliding off the hood of the car
Back here Suzie and I attacked more stuff, sorting, boxing, displaying just getting things done. We must have made at least 10 trips (probably more) up and down the stairs (Suzie even more) so we are both getting a good workout right here in the house. Took a car load to the thrift store again, picked up more boxes at 2 places and got some things ready to take to the recycle centre in Waterloo.
By mid afternoon Suzie was done, so no more trips for her today. Bonus for me, I can go to the to the Wilmot Centre and got 3miles done on the indoor track.
Then for supper tonight we (she) decided on a Pork Schnitzel, have not had that for a long time. Checked our freezer and found a very tiny pork roast, perfect for the project at hand. Just thaw it out during the day and work on it later. For the recipe click HERE or check my recipe blog on the top right sidebar.
sure was a tasty treat
That was it for another productive day, just moving right along.
Thanks again for your visit. Soon gonna be back in our coach where we belong.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this past Winter.

    1. I already lost 50 lbs before this, don't need to loose much more, but it is a good workout.

  3. The freezing rain isn't a good thing. Our forcast calls for strong winds, large hail and possibility of a tornado. That's not a good thing either.

  8. Hello. Interesting journey you've taken in your map. We're past the frost in southern England now, I hope. Funny how the roads stay clear. They do here also until a certain temp point. Schnitzel . I'm going to research your recipe. I'm always looking for new cooking ideas.
