Now this was a busy day we had yesterday and another busy one today Had a great sleep last night and up early as usual. 4:30 am I think it was, We want to see more things again and get some issues taken care of.
After the sun came up and we consumed some coffees got a nice walkabout this resort for a mile or so about 7:30 am. Still much cooler today but sunny only 42f.
 |
| a nice sunrise here this morning |
 |
| a nice beach volleyball court here |
 |
| children's playground |
 |
| nice pavilion |
 |
| huge pool, closed for the season |
Lots of nice rental cabins here named after many famous people from here.
Now about 8:30 this morning we headed to the
Gettysburg Visitor centre to begin our day. Pretty well everything starts from here.

| this be the place and it is huge! |
We bought tickets for the Museum, film and the Cyclorama just after 9 am . and the lady said maybe we should do the 10:15 film. A couple of busses of school kids just came in first. OK!!! we can wait. That would be good so we did the museum first for an hour, then the film and Cyclorama. This cost us $14.00 each for seniors and worth every penny, What an amazing experience. The museum is endless and so much information about the history here and about the civil war. We would have never known about.
So the first hour we toured the museum and did not even get to see it all before time for the film,

| soldiers in uniform |
 |
| amazing statistics |
 |
| these canons are everywhere around this area |
Now the Cyclorama was so amazing to see after the film, This was painted in the early 1880s as you can see below.
What a sight to see and experience. it was truly awesome! These pictures do not do it justice at all.
After 2 hours here we decided to take the self driving tour that is free. Using the map provided we headed on out . No point me taking a guided narrated tour for a lot of money when I will not hear or understand the narration anyway.
Follow the marked route and the map we enjoyed some amazing scenery for another hour or so then headed home for a light lunch.
 |
| interesting home here in town reminds us of New Orleans |
The drive and monuments are well marked and if we stopped at every single one we could spend a couple of days here. But not being history buffs at all ( I failed History in High School) we did enjoy this amazing part of American history that we never knew about.
We decided to stop half way seeing as we are very close to home and enjoy lunch here. Plus we had other issues to take care of. Just before we got to this campground our coach had developed a very distinct vibration, when accelerating. Think maybe a universal joint, So I found an rv shop close by and went to to talk to them. We agreed to take our coach in there first thing (tomorrow) Thursday morning for 8 am and they will take care of it we hope, or they will try. The needs to be taken car of.

| it was a nice afternoon reading enjoying the sunshine |
So back home Suzie had her shower, we enjoyed some outside reading in the warm sunshine for a while (happy hour), Topped up our fresh water, Dumped our sewage tanks.
Then grilled a couple of boneless pork chops on our grill mat to go a with a tasty salad.
 |
| this was very tatsy |
Then store our water and sewage hoses, as well as the Weber Q so we don''t have worry about that in an early cold morning.
Oh we did more this afternoon , will save that until tomorrow.
 |
| hey we even got to see a nice almost full moon tonight as well |
That was fun day we enjoyed and hope to explore a bit more tomorrow, see the rest of the battlefields that we missed will see how the repairs go.
Glad that y'all dropped by for a peek and hope you had a great day as well.
