Now more of this return to summer weather, before we fall into fall. Expensive beer prices.

Where are we today ?

Another peaceful night and good sleep. After a a late supper of popcorn while watching the tube and heading to bed. Up before the sunrise as usual and waiting for it to get up to warm the  outside air and head out for a nice walkabout town. Looks like the forecast for today through Sunday will be the last of this wonderful hot summer weather. 75F today and feels like 86 , tomorrow and Sunday will feels like 93F . Got to enjoy it while we can !
love the morning mist across the yard here
Heading into town managed to catch this bunny scooting across the road into the bush. nice to see some tame wildlife here when out and about.
wildlife spotting
going to be an awesome day.
Finally spotted this machine the township brings into the village travelling along the sidewalks and grinds down some of the uneven  cracks that people can trip on. does a wonderful job.
heading down the sidewalks doing some grinding
Then just after 9:30 am I headed into new Hamburg to make 5 quick stops. A few Groceries at No Frills, Hemerich hearing for hearing aide supplies for the winter. Dollar Haven to pick up 8 Christmas cards and 3 birthday cards before we head south. The Health food store for some Healthy stuff and the Beer store for my special priced Laker Beer $64.00 for 48 bottles.  Now look at the other beer specials no where near the kind of deal we get with Laker.
this is a deal?
and Coors light $6.00 off
last time  bought this in Niagara falls New York
was $18.99 for 36 including a nice cooler bag.
Back home by 10:30 made Suzie a quick bite to eat and she headed of to help SIL Sandy secure a bunch of her Dads puzzles he wants mounted and framed.
Now some relaxing in the shade just because I can
enjoying the peaceful very warm sunny day
Immersed in my page turner. This is the life.
When Suzie got back I took our 5 gallon water jug to the Home hardware store in town here, and refilled it with RO water. Also checked out the addition of the LCBO (Liquor store) area they are setting up. And walk in Beer cooler. A first for Plattsville and so nice to see the laws here in Ontario are allowing these local agencies to open up outside of the government run locations. The products will be sold at the same price but more convenient to small town locations.
We enjoyed a quiet happy hour before firing up our Weber Q to grill some Turkey Garlic sausage to go with our salad for tonights supper. And a perfect very warm late summer day but no pool, it is closed for the season.
pool done for this year
the play yard looks good
we are comfortable here in the shade
the leaves are starting to turn color
Soon time to whip up supper a couple of very tasty Farmer's Turkey garlic sausage we really enjoy, lean and lots of garlic just the way we love it!
not long these are grilled so tasty and juicy
very tender
added to our salad and a couple pieces of bread leftover
 from lunch yesterday
sure hit the spot.

after supper outside  was getting squirely  here
Then the mosquitoes decided to join us, hmm put our citronella torch out and they left us alone  for now. At least we can enjoy more of this very warm weather outside this evening.
this seems to work pretty good,
no more skeeters!
Last night before heading inside I managed to catch a nice sunset across the road over the bean field by the Nith river.
not bad at all
Another wonderful day here at Camp Awesome getting a few more things taken care of and enjoyed this amazing warm weather while we can.
Thanks for dropping by and hope you enjoyed wonderful day as well.

Where have we been this Summer ?

Car repairs, sunshine, lawn mowing and enjoy this sunshine.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
It was a great night for sleeping again, cold and refreshing just the way we love it! Up at 5 am and 45f outside, 52f inside time to fire up our blue flame heater. Not much time for a walkabout  took the car to Pettigrew's garage for 8 am for some needed repairs. But on the way I got a nice country drive enjoying a wonderful sunrise.
what a nice bright sunrise
cool skies this morning
Now at Pettigrews for 8 am and today Mike is doing the repairs, First was the left rear wheel cylinder that is leaking.
top centre it does not look good
in no time that was replaced
next was our fuel filter
then the tie rod end, they ended up doing both sides
Now with this done lets get a wheel alignment. This new technology for this stuff amazes me , All computerized . Tells them exactly what to do, Love that I can watch these guys here do their stuff.
this computer tells what needs to be done
and you can see as Mike does adjustments
In 2 hours I was back home to whip up a tasty light lunch on a wonderful sunny  but a cold day .
After lunch a quick drive to New Hamburg for a few items at the No Frills. And was so nice to run into old friends from Plattsville from many years ago. Maizie and Harvey. Chatted with them for quite a while.
a nice country drive to New Hamburg
Then back to Camp Awesome to mow the last 1/3rd of this yard just over an acre only takes me about an hour .The last grass cutting here for this year. So glad I got it done before we leave and on a nice dry sunny day.
mowing the back of the yard
our coach is the tiny white spot lower center
Back home done most of my work, store our Weber Q, Roll up our awning so we can get sunshine for heat. Then a nice long hot shower.  Love our Blue flame Heater, moved it by the shower so it was toasty warm there. Uses so little propane and quiet we love it!Our 80 lb propane tank can last us a month or more even using our fridge , stove, hot water and BBQ on propane , so nice. But we do keep a kitchen window open 1/ 2 inch for fresh air and reduce the humidity that can built up with this style of heater. We replaced our Mr Heater last winter after 11 years of good service with this Blue Flame below. More money yes but so worth it when we are dry camping with no hookups.  Thermostat on it, just set the temperature we like and it does the rest. Most of the year.
our blue Flame heater
love it, our own fireplace, silent efficient heat
After a long hot shower outside in the sunshine for a while to enjoy our e-readers,  What great day only 54F.but we have sunshine and mostly out of the wind.
just dress a bit warmer and was wonderful
Soon time to whip up supper. Tonight a couple of Turkey Garlic sausages , salad and acorn squash,(done in the microwave) to go with our tasty salad.
nicer on the Weber Q but this is nice too
very tasty supper hit the spot tonight
That was our day wrapping up a few loose ends here, only one more relaxing day here before we heading on out exploring and searching for sunshine and warmer temps.
Thanks again for joining us and hope y'all had wonderful day as well.

Hey just another wonderful cool night for sleeping. Up early as usual and enjoyed a very nice sunrise right outside our dinning room window at 6 am. After some coffees and computing I headed out for a nice walkabout town just after 7 am, for a mile or so, Then about 8:30 I hopped in the car top pick a prescription in New Hamburg and a few groceries. Home shortly after 9  back home and we secure the coach. Chatted with a friend walking by. And he informed me that these berries we have been pickling here are not Blackberries, but actually Black Raspberries. I kinda thought that but was not sure. No matter they are very tasty ! Thanks Brian for the confirmation.
love the sunrises here
heading down river road into town
We were on the road just after 10 am enjoying the nice country back roads to Rock Glen Resort to our home membership park. Here we have full hookups and no overnight fees. Love this park and so glad we bought our membership over 12 years ago, sure has saved us a ton of money. We checked in about noon with the friendly staff here Kirtsy . Pulled into our preferred reserved site and go set up in no time flat, Enjoyed a quick light lunch, even chatted with Gerry ! He is bust staining the cabin right beside us, and is doing an amazing job. Looks like new again!
hey we caught Gerry working !
he did an amazing job just like he always does.
After all set up I decided to set up our sunscreen at the end of our awning to have some shade from the late afternoon hot sun. Nice that we have electricity here and can run our air conditioner with another hot day. about 90+ F and we do get late afternoon sun.
we do have some shade until about noon then
it gets hot
nice and quiet here nobody in our area, just the way we like it
Got to read for a bit then at 3 pm "Happy Hour" evolves . New members Kim and Ken cam by and Gerry brought Tucker (he was done working for the day.) Then we shared lotsa stories and got caught up, and as always Tucker was excited to see Suzie again!
Tucker right onto Suzi's lap
Nice to see Kim and Ken again, and they know Gerry so when we flapping our gums the time just flies on by.
lost of lively conversation here
Tucker being a good dog for his treats

and he waits until Suzie say ok
Ken. Kim, Gerry and Melinda , she done work now too
When everyone headed home I fired up our Weber Q and preheated it with the cast iron fry pan. Gonna pan fry some cod fillets to go with our tasty salad.
nicely done in no time
A nice feast of cod snd a salad, even some leftover  fish for a tasty lunch
Supper done. dishes done and now back outside in a shady spot to finish this posting and get back right into my book again! We really l enjoy it here, very few if any bugs that bother us, and still pretty dent weather.

tasty and filling yup
After a quick run to New Hamburg for a few groceries. Back home to enjoy our e-readers and finish this very interesting book by Bill Clinton and James Patterson (the President is Missing) a very interesting and scary read. Fast paced page turner it is. I want to thank Croft Randle for sending this to me,  Suzie and I really both enjoyed it.

My next book was one my son gave me for my Birthday. He had read it and immediately thought of me. It is a very good inspiring read on how to make money on the side,(legally) . This is a very informative book and inspiring read, sure giving me lots of great ideas ! Thanks for thinking of me Ken.  Always nice to have more money right?

Soon time for supper and after our filling breakfast for lunch only a burger for supper tonight will do the trick,
Turkey burger for Suzie and Chorizo burger
 for me on the right
Love the spicy tasty of the chorizo I bought in AJO Arizona from the instore butcher and made my own patties.
this sure did the trick tonight
As I am getting ready to post this I noticed a new posting from The Furry Gnome, Season's in the Valley, glad to hear from him again and wishing him more progress in his recovery. You can click that link and wish him a speedy recovery as well if you like.
That was our fun Saturday visiting with family and enjoying this slightly cooler less humid weather.
Thanks for the visit and hope you enjoyed your day as well.
