Read for a bit while Suzie does family stuff

Where are we today ?
Today another fun day here. Just enjoying this great weather we are having. Early morning sun on our site, Walkabout and hang out at the garage for a bit shooting the breeze.
I wanted to run to the store for a few food items then back home to just putter around for a while. I can read for a bit then do stuff, read a bit and do more stuff. Gotta keep moving.
Suzie headed off to New Hamburg to do stuff with her Mom and Dad for a few hours.
Tried the one lawn mower did not start, so read for a bit. Make lunch and read for a bit. Suzie headed out to her Mom and Dads and I can read for a bit.
Check tire pressure on our coach and read for a bit. (you follow the pattern?)
Next unsecured our awning and read for a bit. Fired up another lawn mower and it worked, cut the grass around the pool.
Read for a bit. Checked out our generator and figured how to get in running, it works! Then read for a bit.
Got a text from Suzie she heading home, so fired up our Weber Q and read for a bit. I had already make the salads and stuff so when she got home, reviewed her day and cooked up a couple salmon burgers and fresh asparagus on the grill. Read for a bit.
sure did the trick
It was a busy and very productive day for the two of us.  Now to relax for the rest of the day, whats left of it. And tomorrow we on the road looking forward for a busy weekend with grandson number one and a lacrosse tournament east of Toronto. Gonna be too much fun. ON THE ROAD AGAIN!
Thanks for stopping by and hope ya'll come back again soon.

Foggy day and a birthday celebration.

Where are we today ?
Ok, now back up early as usual, got the computing and coffees done and a bit of a walkabout. Then to the garage in town to see what's happening. Some real heavy duty fog still at 7:30 this morning, but the sun soon burned it off.
Early morning fog
Then Suzie ready to head into Waterloo shortly after 9 o'clock. Stopped at my mothers for a short visit and coffee then off to Suzie's doctor appointment. From there to the KW Bookstore to exchange a few books for some we have not read. They would not take them all so she only got two new to us books. Better deals in Gand Bend at the Pinery Flea Market, we be back there in a couple weeks.
While she was doing this I walked the block to the apple computer store to see about a new battery for my Mac Book Pro. This store is right by the Kitchener City Hall with a nice square, pond with fountains and even a few chess boards and tables for people to hang out at.
Kitchener City Hall
Then back home for a late lunch and enjoy our books in the shade of this wonderful but cool summer day.
Next on the agenda head out to the Mandarin Chinese Buffet in Cambridge to celebrate Grandson number 4's 7th birthday. His choice for his birthday supper. No pics, privacy issues here.
This is a huge buffet and he enjoyed it with his Mom (daughter number 2), Dad and brother  and six grandparents. We all had a great feast, ate too much good food but had a wonderful get together everyone catching up with each other.
A very good buffet, fresh food and great variety as well.
We all had our fill and time to head on home. We enjoyed driving into a wonderful sunset coming into Plattsville.
Another fun day spent with family celebrating a 7 year old's birthday too, and I did not even cook a meal.
Glad you could drop by for a peek and hope you come back again soon.

We do manage to keep pretty busy here.

Where are we today ?
Well guess we were really tired yesterday from the late night before. I slept until almost 7 a.m. . Now thats unheard of for me. Don't remember when the last time that has happened.
Got the coffee and computing fix done real quick. Stop by the garage this morning and back home for George to pump out our waste water tanks. He was supposed to be here yesterday , but his truck broke down. No problem we are good to go now for another week to 10 days. Can't beat the service, he is town once a week and for $20.00 he comes to us. Or we can drive 30 miles each way for a free dump station. Cheaper to stay here and have him pump us out.
this is a file photo from before,
George hooking us up
That was done then drove Suzie to her Mom and Dad's she is heading off with them for more Doctors appointments with them. No problem I have a few errands in New Hamburg and back home to install a new antenna for our Sirius Radio. The old antenna bit the dust. Cheap stuff nowadays. So up on the roof and to get that done.
a nice shot from the roof looking east
That satellite antenna is magnetic. Our roof is aluminum, front part fiberglass. The only steel here is the automatic satellite dish on our roof. Now that is for Bell and Dish satellite tv. We don't need it anymore as we have a Shaw/direct satellite dish for tv.I Just use the tripod and have mastered the setup. And we like the tripod much better, quicker and easier than on the roof especially when we usually are parked under trees in the summer.
satellite dish in storage
our solar panel works great
I got all that stuff done and managed to actually read for a few minutes, when Suzie called me to pick her up in New Hamburg, doctors appointments done.
Back home and I can fire up our Weber Q, grill a huge chicken breast, couple tiny taters, 2 cobs of corn and some fresh asparagus. And even enjoy our books a bit more.
Our Weber Q does a perfect job.Low and slow
about 70 minutes after preheating the grill.
Corn soaked in water about 30 minutes our longer, tiny taters about 35 minutes on the grill corn 20 minutes on the grill, asparagus about 10-12 minutes
oh so tasty, we do love chicken and fresh veggies
That was a fun productive day we had, even though the weather was a bit cool and damp, (maybe got to 75f for a bit) only a few drizzles here and there.
We are fulltime rver's and really don't need to be on the go everyday. Now starting 9 years on the road and love every minute of it whatever that entitles.
All in all worked out quite well, thanks for stopping by again.

We did it again! Nothing much..... just doing what we do best.

Where are we today ?
We actually had a very, very late night last night, but still up early this morning so it's been a kind of draggy day for both of us. Not a big deal, we have no real plans and no where to go, thats a good thing. Morning walkabouts and pick up a few groceries first thing then play with the dogs here, Molly and Buddy. They keep us busy enough.
Of course we have our books to enjoy, with the temperatures today up and down, from 78f and hot in the sun then the clouds come in and down to 64 f. So we move to sun and shade, short pants, long pants, sweaters, no sweaters, a few walkabouts and just enjoy another fun day here, so quiet too! Love it.
The dogs are watching closely and made a few dashes after birds, squirrels and even a red fox. They don't catch them (thats a good thing), but they sure get a good work out, (we do too).
they are right at home here, relaxing
Then before we know it time to fire up our Weber Q. Grill a couple of Haddock fillets, (from the Bay of Fundy, East Coast Canada). And some nice fresh asparagus.
Added to a red leaf lettuce salad, avocado, mushrooms, brocoli, olives, grape tomatoes, flax seed, sunflower seeds and fresh raspberries.
did the trick
While enjoying supper the dogs love to come inside with us, no begging either, they are well trained.
Supper done, another run and they get to have some of their supper too.
Getting cooler out now but we can still enjoy the great outdoors here with almost no bugs at all.
We had another perfect day, with pretty decent weather and great company. As Rene' and Jennette commented on yesterday's posting " Relaxing? You two seem to have that concept well rehearsed" Yep we do, our favourite job.
Thanks again for visiting our quiet day, and keeping in touch.

A very relaxing Sunday!

Where are we today ?
Heck we are having more wonderful weather. After all our coffees and computing headed out for a walkabout the village about 8 am. So nice and quiet, sun coming up and gonna be a hot day.
Walked a few blocks past all three of the houses I have owned here it town over the years, since I first moved here in 1982.
nice road into town
Below is the first house I bought here in town 1982, only the front part (has since been added on to) original house was 750 square ft on a double lot $27,000.00.
Next house right across the street, was very nicely landscaped when we had it, but very overgrown now. Bought it in 1986 for a good price.
Then when I met Suzie bought this house and worked on it for 15 years, ( it was an insulbrick shack when we bought it) to make it look this good, lots of work but we made our money out of it and then some. We did siding, roof, new furnace, hot water tank, new windows, doors, flooring, new kitchen, new bathroom, wiring, driveway, wrap around porch,  etc...
this was our last house in town
There was a few people outside that I knew and stopped to chat with them for a bit too, nice to see them again.
Now we are looking forward to a very nice peaceful day, nowhere to go, just enjoy the great weather we are having here, just the two of us, perfect!
yep its a beautiful hot sunny day
It was so nice out thought I would finish mowing the the last acre or so of the lawn here. So hopped on the mower and was done by noon. Just in time for a light lunch and some quality reading time in the shade. Chat with John for a bit, service the mower and Suzie got her doggie fix with Molly and Buddy.
the last acre or sow of lawn
Molly and Buddy hanging out with us
Before we know it time to fire up our Weber Q to grill this huge (one inch thick smoked pork chop) to share, and some mushrooms, onions, sweet peppers and grape tomatoes.
Add that to a tasty spinach salad with lotsa stuff, and bean salad we had a wonderful filling, tasty supper.
did the trick tonight
Sure is nice to have a peaceful day here hanging out, just the two of us.
Darn sure do love this lifestyle!
After supper was cooked about 6 pm we had a huge downpour, heavy rain lasting about 20 minutes. The temps dropped from 80f to 65f real quick, but then a very nice evening. until 8 o'clock and rain some more.
Thanks for stopping in and checking us out. Hope you had a nice peaceful Sunday too.

Woodtsock Farmer's Market

Where are we today ?
Another nice day in the forecast. The weather guessers call for rain all day. Well we don't believe them. So after getting things in order about 9 am, we headed out to to the Woodstock Farmer's Market  it's been quite a few years and it was fun, we do love farmer's markets. Not like the bigger ones we have been to but each Market has its own personality.
After visiting a cousin of Suzie's around the corner and dropping off a Genealogy she had compiled and chatting for a good long time, headed to the market. We enjoyed all the new vendors there and some great products they had to offer.
outdoor vendors
Then inside we found some great meat products from the small local butchers.
nice looking beef (we did not buy any)
but we did buy some nice turkey burgers
and turkey sausage
then we saw these awesome looking, very thick
smoked pork chops, just had to get some of those,
can't resist smoked chops, moderation right?
a small basket of new red potatoes
we did not buy and blueberries, but did get a
whole mess of strawberries.
real Maple syrup, but we still have some
After all this fun and fresh meat we had to get home, early afternoon. A bite to eat for lunch and still not raining. So my plan was to mow some more lawn. About an hour later in began to rain, so back home to putter around for about 20 minutes.
raining pretty hard for a few minutes
Rain stopped, sun came back out and got some more lawn mowed. Hmmm, and another hour later starts to rain again. That's it, mower back in the shed,( only one acre left to do) Suzie picked me up near the back of the yard during the downpour. (Thanks Suzie!)
I was back by the white building when the rain began
By now its 4 o'clock and sun shining again, but we can enjoy our books for a while, before the Weber Q gets going to grill a couple turkey burgers and two small taters.
turkey burgers and two tiny taters
I had picked up two fresh buns at the bakery for our burgers, whipped up a nice spinach salad, with fresh  mushrooms, strawberries, cranberries, olives, red onion, flax seed, sunflower seeds, a bit more bean salad, we sure had a very tasty supper.
love that beeftseak tomato on the burger
very tasty burgers
Just another fun day here exploring a bit more. Enjoying the summer here in Ontario.
Glad you could drop by for a visit. Hope y'all come back again too.

Enjoying the quiet country life here in Plattsville.

Where are we today ?
This morning starts off kinda cool at 9c (thats 48f real temperature) and slowly rising until it hit 26c (78f) this afternoon. But the sun was shinning most of the day and really pretty nice.
Got the usual stuff done and headed to Pettigrew's Garage to get our car serviced, oil change etc.. at 8 am. While there ran into a guy from town (John) we have not seen for many years, was nice to chat and catch up after all this time.
Then off to Waterloo for a back tune up, visit, my new Chiropractor Dr. Sean Delanghe , who has taken over Bruce's practice when he retired last month after over 40 years,( I supported Bruce for 35 of those years). I really liked Bruce (Happy retirement) and Sean is an excellent replacement to take over his practice.
Picked up a few supplies in town and home in time for a light lunch with Suzie.
nice country view heading back into Plattsville
After a quick bite puttered around for a bit, one thing I do with hand soap (and I know I have posted this before, just a reminder). To keep those handsoap pumps from dripping when you travel I drill a tiny (1/16inch) hole at the very top of the pump bottle. Works like a charm, no more drips, try it!
just a teeny air hole near the cap
Then with such a nice afternoon thought I would mow some lawn. Well the mower would not start= dead battery. Gave it a boast with the car and ran about 5 minutes and quit. So gave it another boast and back to the shed, hook up battery charger and tighten battery cables. Couple hours later added gas and began mowing some lawn, worked great until I ran out of fuel. So off to the closest gas station in Ayr (15 minutes way) topped up the gas and parked it for the day. It's 5'o'clock somewhere (right here!) a cold beverage and time to begin supper anyway. Still have at least two more hours mowing before its all done, maybe soon if the rains don't happen like predicted.
this is a fun mower to use
While I am doing this Suzie playing with Buddy and Molly, Buddies long hair is high maintenance. Not so much his mom Molly.
she enjoys brushing Buddy
they love running the yard with Suzie
Buddy in action
Time for me to fire up our Weber Q, grill a couple salmon fillets, today with garlic butter.
Add that to some Ramon noodles, with broccoli, bean salad and a tasty spinach salad with wild blueberries.
yummy
Another fun day here at Camp Awesome, always something to do and enjoy the peaceful country and small town ambience.
Thanks for stopping by again and hope you enjoyed a wonderful summer day too.
