then home to play house in the trailer for a bit.
The boys played two rounds of mini golf while I threw together some hamburgs and hot dogs for lunch.
sarurday lunch
Daughter number two and her family arrived in time for a quick bite then get involved in the fun.
This is Water Wars weekend so at 12 noon a pickup was loaded with barrels of water, water balloons and water cannons. They cruised the park a few times for and hour while they pummelled anyone with that was armed with water. There was a huge crew chasing the truck, people with buckets and hoses. Everyone sure had a great time, great way to cool down on warm sunny day!
Water wars
Now if not wet enough everyone off to the pools. Outdoor one is deep with a water slide kept them all busy for a couple hours.
indoor pool shallow and heated
Back home for a quick snack and play some football and soccer. OOPPS, the soccer ball over the fence in the bush.
searching the jungle for the soccer ball
a perfect to to enjoy the sun, not too hot
now what little girl does not enjoy bubbles
Then time for me to start prepping supper. There is 11 of us and lotsa food cook, baked potatoes, fresh corn on the cob, sausage on the weber Q. And a couple salads to devour.
We are camping so improvise, baked potatoes over the open fire, corn on the camp stove and the sausage on the grill it worked perfect.
While supper was cooking the boys went and played and 36 holes of mini golf.
quiet for a bit when the golfers were gone
the pros are at it
of course an ice cold popsicle after that workout.
a neigbor stopped by to say hello, don't you just love his skirt?
sausage on the grill, corn in the pot
very tasty
Then desert for a celebration. Two Grandsons had a birthday in the last week one 7 and one 6 years old, so for that a gluten free blueberry and a cherry cheesecake for desert.
they each get to blow out one candle
Now supper was done, in time for the 7 o'clock wagon ride around the park.
we having fun
this dog loves his motorcycle rides too
here comes the wagon
Now that is done time for the campfires and smore's, as if we need more food! But we did enjoy more chatting and playing with the kids.
love a campfire
Then getting dark, getting late and everybody is done in after a fun filled day. Daughter number two headed home with her family and the others stayed another night in their trailer.
Sunday morning everyone slept a bit later and we having another great day for weather. The coffees, juice cereal and pack up their trailer. And take the kids for their last swim at the ppol before they head out.
I made up a breakfast casserole for brunch. Withe bacon potatoes, onion, peppers eggs and cheese, Bake in the oven for about 40 minutes and an all in one meal so easy. The recipe is under the recipe tab above. Here a few pics below of putting it together.
Cooked bacon pieces on the bottom
shred 6-8 small potatoes
add sauteed onions and green pepper, top with 8 eggs
top with shredded cheese
bake 35-40 minutes at 3:50
yummy
the boys made grilled cheese pie irons
They were all fed, packed up and on the road shortly after noon to visit more grandparents about 30  minutes from here.
Now we just sat for a few minutes to catch our breath after a very busy couple days, Then tidied up a bit put away all our extra tables and chairs and enjoyed a wonderful quiet afternoon in the shade enjoying our books.
Then time to wind down with a nice light tasty supper, grill a couple chicken breasts, made a nice tossed salad and the rest of our very tender corn on the cob.
Well there ya go we really had an awesome and very busy friday, saturday and sunday great times had with family. So much going on with this long weekend, A holiday celebrated in most of Canada the "Civic Holiday" on the first monday in August. Why ? just because there was not enough long weekends in the summer.
Any who,  thank ya' all for stopping by and joining in on our fun times. Hope your weekend was great too.

Because the campgrounds busy and so many people in the area our 4G hub for the internet was intermittent and very difficult to get a good signal, so I need to post this blog off hours, after this the weekend will be back to normal.

  2. What a busy weekend you had but it looks like it was a fun one too. We're planning water balloons for one of the activities at our family reunion next weekend. However, not so sure how it'll work it. Looks like it worked for you!
