Where are we today ?
Last night we had weather!! Tornado warnings and even a tornado watch for while. Wild winds, heavy rains, flood warnings, thunder, lightning, (major light show !) we had it all. But local tv channels showed us where the storm was going. All around us us, sure do love the way the US tv stations follow these weather fronts. Tornadoes no closer than 20 miles so all was just fine. (Suzie freaking out, but no problems we were good).
Our window awnings were retracted, slide in and all secure. Yep we were good at least I had a good nights sleep.
In the morning I noticed that our cupboard door had sealed up the crack again. Humidity back in the air. I showed you this last fall when we went to Arizona and it dried out, now its humid again. My arthritis can confirm that for sure.

Eventually we fired up our Weber put on some potatoes in foil with onions, some boneless baby back ribs (picked up on sale, never had boneless ribs before), broccoli and cheese, garlic bread and ended up with a very tasty supper. Gotta BBQ when we can at this time of year.
Just another great day in Texas. Hope you had fun with us too.

Places we have been this winter.
When we lived in Texas we often had tornado warnings in the spring. It's something we weren't used to living in Washington. We usually pull in our slides and take our antenna down now if there is any sign of a big storm. The banging quiets down and does make for a more peaceful night's sleep.
ReplyDeleteLove the birds-getting-worms picture. Opportunists in every species I guess.
ReplyDeleteReading about full-timers on the road for 12 years makes me so envious. We're sittin' here with 86 days to go til the closing on our house and our mobility freedom. Our Journey is ready to go. We are ready to go. But this house is dragging us like an anchor.
cheers,
Peter
Away We Go
Glad you made it through the storm, tornadoes can be scary things, they can announce them possiblity of them but they can't tell you for sure when or in what direction they just spring up. They had a fairly big earthquake in Mexico but we weren't in the area thankfully and we didn't feel it.

ReplyDeleteYes the slide in sure makes it much quieter.
Peter Pazucha:
Thanks for joining us, those last few days can make you anxious. We had to wait like that 6 years ago, and seemed to take forever. Good luck on the road.
Kevin and Ruth:
We heard about the earthquake and hoped that it missed you guys. Thanks for the update.
George - Glad things are going well with your travels and that you are missing those tornados! Safe travels.

ReplyDeleteAll our travels are great, just some a little more "exciting" than others, thanks for stopping by.
Glad you were missed by the tornadoes. Keep safe.
