Where are we today ?
A great nights sleep, mild, windows open, now we are back to decent weather. The rains have stopped and now this river (just a trickle when we got here!) is really flowing.
This week is March break for the school children in this area (and a lot of other areas as well), so needless to say lotsa families and children here. This is kinda refreshing because for most of the winter all we see in the campgrounds and the resorts is "old people" (I guess thats us). Now that's all well and good but this week not so many "old people" we are over run with young people, certainly a quick change and refreshing. The weather today was perfect most 85f, sunny and no wind.
Walkabouts the resort today and all the kids running playing, bike riding, wow so much energy. A quick trip to the store for a few groceries, then back home, a bite to eat for lunch and the short drive into Historic Downtown Glen Rose. With a few interesting sites along the way.

Another stop along the way is Glen Rose Big Rocks Park, parking lot full and lots of families having fun scrambling over these interesting looking rocks.
This being a small town (population 2,000) I figured that sunday (yesterday) most of downtown would be closed so we checked out the town square and all today. Very nice touristy type shops and almost all were closed ! They are only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday , including the restuarants, Museum and artist shops. So we wandered about enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air, read a few signs, just get the feel of old town Glen Rose from way back when.Courthouse built in 1893 |

Apparently remains of dinosaurs were found in this area and has become another attraction to see. Mostly for children and rather expensive for us to go and check out with loads of children everywhere on March break we kinda passed up these places this time around. Maybe on another tour thru the area.
The Museum was not open but an outdoor display showed this Dinosaur footprint telling of ancient times.

Well just have to fire up our Weber on this beautiful day and grill some chicken, potatoes and zucchini slices for supper.
