Thanks for joining us on our journey of North America in our Holiday Rambler, since August 2006
Where are we today ?
Whitney Texas
Another great day and our last one here, before we move on in the morning. Sunshine and just a great day. Going to visit a couple that we met our first year fulltime, Dec 2006. We left Ontario and made our way 6 weeks later to Picacho Peak rv resort in Arizona, to visit some friends from back home. Well we stayed here a month over Christmas and new Years , then for the next two years as well. We met a lot of very nice people there and especially the managers there. Joe and Denise, fantastic people, kept us coming back. The managers can really make or break a resort.
Heading out to go visit them this morning we passed our neighbor, with his golf cart (going golfing with his dog). Not sure why the dog , maybe he is blind and needed a seeing eye dog, or maybe the dog chased the balls, will never know for sure.
golfing dog??
today's tour
We got our gps out and planned a nice country drive about 40 minutes away.
back country roads
nice house with horses in the front yard
baptist church 1892
We could find Sand Flat country store . Got there and phoned them to come and meet us.
oh yeah and restaurant there too
That's it a store and restaurant is all of Sand Flat Texas.
and every vehicle in Texas is a truck, except us
A quick call and two minutes later they come to meet us and show us back to their ranch.
following them down the road
Well we got to their place and wow! love it!!!
goats and chickens
one duck who thinks she is a chicken too.
Now we have not seen them in at least two years so it was a great reunion. they toured us about their place, just love it, perfect lotsa acres, can't remember if its 20 or 40 but sure is a piece of heaven let me tell you. Out in the country and not too far from town, no close neighbors and their son lives next door, awesome!
We were going to sit on the porch but was a cool breeze, so we got to go into the MAN CAVE!! A bar, card tables, big screen tv , and all set up for the music jams that they have here. Now this is heaven let me tell you.

We took a different way home for another scenic Texas back country drive.

Then back home I get to whip up a tasty supper. tonight some sweet and sour chicken and pork with mushroom fried rice, for our chinese fix.
so tasty
Then I can check tires, dump our tanks and get ready to hit the road in the morning, heading to Arkansas.
Oh yeah Joe and Denise we both want thank you both for such a wonderful day. So nice to meet up with friends along the way. We will be back, so be prepared.

George; Every man should have a man cave. I've been thinking of carrying a big cardboard box that I can fold up and throw in the back of the truck when we travel and then set out when we park. I was going to use a tent but I notice some parks have signs up that say "No Tents". I have never seen a sign that says "No Cardboard Boxes" so that might work better. Safe Travels
