Where are we Today ?
Desert Hot Springs California
Well we had a great New Years Eve, late night (for us anyway), got home just before 1 am and slept in so late this morning, did't wake up until 7 am. Wow put me behind schedule, so by the time computing and coffees were done I did not get my walkabout until after 9 am. By this time its pretty hot about 88f (31c) but I did manage to handle it. Just love looking out at the snow on top of the mountains every morning and the clear blue skies.
love the snow, as long as stays at the top of the mountains
I also took a picture of the top of the Mexican Fan Palm especially for Dee.

Then we just puttered around for a bit and enjoyed our books in the shade. I made some devilled eggs to take Jim and Sharon's where we had been invited for an early (3 pm) supper with a bunch of people we met last night at the New Years Eve party.
stuffed mushrooms
Relax for a bit of a social hour with a few appetizers, its much easier to talk without the noise of the people in the hall and dance music.
Then the food was set up inside so the dinner bell rang and in we go for the buffet, so much good food.
lotsa food
We had an awesome meal with ham, scalloped potatoes, sweet potatoes w/pineapple, a salad, fresh baked buns and devilled eggs. Thanks to Sharon for the meal so tasty, and anyone else who may have helped with the prep too.
so tasty
Relaxing with full tummies, chatting and just enjoying the awesome weather.
Maggie coming to visit Suzie
Then desert as if we weren't already full, but now we had Key Lime Pie that Bob made, never had it before and it was absolutely Amazing, Bob told me his secrets, gotta make one of our own some day.
Key Lime Pie
Just had a small piece of the Key lime so we could try a small piece of pumpkin as well and of course pumpkin is always good especially with whipped cream.

Now what a perfect way to begin the New Year a great meal with friends, fantastic weather a nice fire and an early night for everyone, all this socializing and good food can sure tire a person out, not that we are complaining. Need to get our rest, we are back to our busy retirement schedule tomorrow.
nice fire
Now we just said goodnight to everyone then back home to put our feet up.
And I would like to welcome Stargeezer as one of our newest followers.
