Sun. Dec. 25. We havin a Merry Christmas

Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

 Where are we Today ?
Well we are up earlier than usual, and that's early, after all its Christmas morning and we are excited (well I am at least). The sun was not up yet and Santa had been here!
Now look what he brought us. First of all we are both upright, healthy and breathing,(thats a good thing). Then we have each other (that's fantastic). We are living our dream (now that's Awesome!) Then under the tree we find goodies, peanuts, cashews, chocolate truffles, ( hey that's yummy and lotsa calories).
yummy
So with the tree lit up, our Yule Log and Christmas music on the tube. A nice pot of coffee and I baked some cinnamon buns (thanks to the Pillsbury dough boy). More calories but hey its Christmas right?
fresh cinnamon buns
Then we made a bunch of Christmas phone calls, checked emails and just enjoyed a bright sunny morning, with beautiful blue cloudless skies.
One thing that we enjoy about Arizona is mostly a very dry climate, cool, if not cold nights (good for sleeping) but when the sun comes up it can get hot and it feels so good. The temperature in the shade was about 70f (20c) but look what it is in the sun!
Awesome
So the t-shirts, shorts, sandals and putter around outside, Walkabout, chat with a few neighbors, cleaned some windows on the car and coach, just love the fresh air and sunshine. Then get the chairs out, sit in the shade, then the sun, then the shade, its a tough decision trying to decide where to sit with our books.

Now after a bit this fellow stopped by and said hi, started talking and he looked so familiar. Where have we met him??? Al O'coffey, we camped next to them for more than month in Mazatlan Mexico, two years ago. He had been talking this morning to another couple Dave and Sharon, in Yuma, that we met in Mexico as well and Dave mentioned to him where we were camped (I guess they follow our blog). Al and Carol were visiting a couple in the resort next door so he came for a walk and found us. Wow such a small world, they are from northern British Columbia. We chatted and chatted until it was time for us to go for our Christmas dinner at the clubhouse, we got his email address and will try to keep in touch.

Now at the clubhouse we sat with the two other couples we met last night Christmas Carolling and carried on conversations like we were old friends. Exchanged cards and got ready to enjoy a great Christmas Dinner.
our group, of course I took the picture

a nice group here
dishing out the food
The meal was excellent roast turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberries, a fresh salad and dinner rolls, wish I had a bigger plate!
and the meal was so good
Well it turns out I didn't need a bigger plate I could barley finish what was on this one, then came the desert. Home made pumpkin or apple pie, didn't even have room for that, we had to take desert home.
desert looks so good can't wait to try it
We got back home just before 5 and still nice enough to sit out and read for another half hour or so until the sun settled down behind the palm trees to the west and the days heat goes quickly away.
So now we can call it another Awesome Christmas in the warmer parts of the southern USA travelling to new places and meeting old and new faces. Hope everybody else had a Merry Christmas too.

Too much yummy food, but we can suffer with that. And I will share my cashews with Kevin but need to have a beer with them as well.

  5. Wow, you had blue skies for Christmas !!

We have not seen the sun for a number of days already.

But, starting tomorrow, the sun is supposed to return.

We really enjoyed reading about your Christmas day, and we love what you said about being thankful for good health, and Suzie, and your lifestyle.

    Very nice !!!
