Mon. Jan 31st 2011 Quartzsite AZ

Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

Well this is our last day in Quartzsite for this winter, we will hit the road in the morning for Casa Grande AZ about 3 hours away. So putter about today tidy up, put bicycles on the rack after a ride, store our solar panel and BBQ, roll up the mat etc... then we don't have to do that in the cool morning air.

This morning I was reading Larry's Blog and they were at Benji's Pizza, on Stone Island, Mazatlan, for their to die for garlic shrimp pizza. Now we have a craving it was soo good. I got searching the internet for recipes and ideas and then went searching for ingredients. We had the shrimp, butter, garlic and olive oil, just need mozzarella cheese and a pizza dough. Pizza dough was the problem, but after all three grocery stores in town the Roadrunner market did have a pizza dough mix, now we are in business.

All over the place here people have some unique and fun vehicles good for running to the store, and around the desert.
cool ride
I did go for a bike ride around the bug tent area and found that its pretty barren compared to the last week, most of the vendors have packed up their trailers, rv's and left town.
clearing out
rice ranch was full 2 days ago!
Now back home riding my bike and noticed a big gust of wind and dust whirling about, nothing to block it in these open spaces.
dusty
Back inside I will putter around with our shower door, looks like the hinge bushings are a bit worn. So I investigate and disassemble, then to Herb's Hardware for some new parts, and of course they have the parts. So back together and working great another chore done. The wind has died down a bit so we can sit on the south side of our coach in the sun and out of the wind to read until supper time . Now I can make the pizza dough, clean the shrimp and garlic and put it altogether and wow do we have a garlic shrimp pizza! Lotsa garlic and lotsa shrimp, now we can have one anytime without having to go all the way to Mazatlan, we just miss the sandy beach, ocean breezes, tropical climate, etc.....

  3. heyduke50, cook in the regulator propane oven, use it all the time, no convection, that needs electricity and we do a lot of dry camping.
