Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer, since August. 2006

Today a little warmer, no rain but still windy. In the morning I took a drive and stopped in Plattsville, then Waterloo to my chiropractor, a few groceries then stop and visit mother. A nice visit here with coffee and some computer maintenance and a tasty bacon and tomato sandwich for lunch.

After this was done back to the farm and putter around a bit while everybody was in the fields harvesting corn and planning to work as late as possible. Well my job was to make supper for eight hungry people to eat starting around 8:00 pm after dark and the milking was done. So Suzie's mother came out, for supper as her father was in the fields along with Dennis, Greg, Shelley and Sandy. A dozen large porkchops roasted in milk, onions and spices, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies and a tossed salad (and Shelly's Shepherds pie) went over well and was pretty well cleaned up. This was a good meal to keep warm without drying out so that they could eat in shifts whenever they came in. Afterwards some social time, chit chat and then call it a night.

  1. Running a farm is a well organized business. Good for you for pitching in. Take care of your body George. By the way...still no emails from you.
