First day of summer, country drive to doctor's appointments, pick up our freezer food and darts tonight

        Up early as usual  but we have a busy morning ahead of us. After coffee and computing , I headed  over to have a nice long hot shower at 6:30 am. and by 7:30 we hopped in the car to Stratford Ontario for our yearly checkups with the Doc. Got there for 9 am and in and out in 45 minutes the both of us. The weather today did get to 84 F (28C) not too bad at all !

       After our check ups  we stopped at the Bulk Barn for a few things and Tim Hortons for a coffee and muffin. Next to Dennis and Sandy's (New Hamburg) to pick up our Freezer food we had stored there and back home to Arkona by 12:30 in time for a nice light tasty lunch.
          Now we got to putter around for a while enjoy our page turners then 3 pm here is Happy Hour and a few friends stopped by to share stories and flap their gums with us always a fun time.

     Then 3 pm Gerry and Tucker came over for Happy Hour. Then Joe, Melinda and John on his break, dropped by as well.

        Just as we were beginning supper Rudy dropped by to say hello. We met him and his wife in Lake Whitney Texas this spring. Wow, such a small world!!! We chatted for a few minutes and he headed back home. We grilling a couple of burgers for supper, before darts. A Turkey burger for Suzie and a Chirozo burger (from Arizona) for me.

     Then time to head down to the clubhouse for darts at 6:45pm for some fun fellowship. All ready to go and have too much fun, only about a dozen of us tonight and lotsa laughs.

     It was a good night and done shortly after 9 pm. My team in the playoffs again and I won a dollar . Yahoo I won!! Paid 3 dollars each to play and came home with a dollar, another fun night with a bonus.

    Back home still some day light and a nice colourful sky as the sun was setting. Perfect for the first day of summer. From now on the days begin getting shorter.

          That was it our busy yet fun day here at Rock Glen resort, enjoying this wonderful weather and fun with friends.

Where have we been this summer?

Nice long walkabout, great very warm spring day, just enjoying this weather.

      A nice warm night for sleeping windows open and so peaceful. This is really some springtime/summer weather. After my morning computing , coffees and walkabouts around the park about 1 mile,  I was I was prepared for a longer walkabout.
     So about 8:45 I did a nice walk around the block here into Arkona and back you can see the map below  a very nice walk and a perfect day for it. 5KMs, (3 miles) By the time I got home at 9:45 my I-phone had logged on 4 miles. Doing good today.

           On one of my walkabouts I spotted this garden shed that was trashed the other day with the strong wind.

         Back home for a light tasty lunch , more leftovers. Then outside to read for a while, Soon time for a soak the hot tub here. Loosen up a  few stiff muscles from my first long walkabout all at once. Everything loosened up feel much better now.

    And Gerry is working on sterilizing all this playground equipment donated from a Mc Donalds in London that they will be installing here in the park. Too cool!

    We are enjoying this wonderful warm day in the shade with our e-readers, And decided a perfect day to have an Ice cream cone.  So a short walk to the office and grab a couple. Perfect weather for a nice treat.

       Reading for a while a friend stopped by to chat for a bit then over to new friends Ken and Kim's for "Happy Hour" . Chat with them, for a while share stories and tips, Then Emile dropped in to join us as well. Always fun to chat with friends in the afternoon and catch up.
       Soon time to head on home, preheat our Weber , Q while I made a salad. And then grill some chicken thighs on our grill mat with a nice rub until almost done. Then off the mat to crisp them up and finish them off.
        My day ended up with over 6 miles walked today and feels amazing! The soak in the hot tub made everything feel wonderful. I will sleep well tonight.

       Now with the other 2 thighs and bones for leftovers plan to make a pot of chicken soup tomorrow  morning. Supposed to rain so a perfect morning for it.

      Still outside  at 8:30 pm and still 72 f. and in shorts. Gonna wrap up this posting and soon head inside for the night.

    Just another great nights sleep, cool overnight and some windows open, we toasty warm inside and love the fresh cool air.
     First thing this morning I put our chicken bones from last nights BBQ'chicken onto boil for a tasty chicken broth for todays soup.
     While this was going on I made a quit trip to Roswell to pick a few needed veggies, and found some nice food things we cannot get in other places. Extra hot habernero sauce  and fresh store made chirozo. made my day!

     Back home to finish up our soup for lunch . Always  a hearty stoup. so thick and tasty.

       After lunch I went to checkout this nice walking wetlands trail, so peaceful and quiet here.

       Now back home to enjoy our e-readers in the shade for a while, a very comfortable 82 f and not humid sure worked for us. I took the time  to get a nice long hot shower at the restrooms and sure felt wonderful.

       While enjoy this wonderful warm, weather in the shade the local roadrunner dropped by for a visit, love watching these guys.

       Next thing we hear a meow under our coach! We had another visitor, a very pretty siamese cat. He has a tag so is not wild , He/ she checked us out and then on its way. Not gonna feed it.
        One thing we learned years ago if you want to meet people and get fresh air, sit outside! Not many people will come knocking on your door to meet you.

      Then about 3 pm Brenda and Len stopped by to join us for "Happy Hour" I chatted with them earlier today when they were sitting outside, Noticed the Alberta Canada licence plates and just stopped to say hi. First thing Brenda said " I know you" huh? They have been following our blog now for 6 years, don't comment and don't blog and have followed many other rv bloggers. as well. One couple they have met was Katie and Brad The Rogue less Travelled  ( new full timers) back in Canada.
      Well heck this is another amazing couple of full-time rver's,  not bloggers but really super people. They read a lot of blogs though, We chatted for a happy hour or 2 and the conversation just kept flowing, and as happens we learned more tips of places to explore. So nice to share information with each other.

        Getting a bit chilly and time for supper they headed on home and we began whipping up supper.
        Grilled a couple of swordfish steaks on our Weber Q 100 tonight and they were amazing as usual, for the recipe you can click HERE or my recipe blog top right side bar. Of course added our salad to go with it.
