Sunny very warm day, and the Pinery Flea market.

clic a pic for more
Another cool, night great for sleeping and at 6 am was 57 f (13c) not too bad, Our Mr Heater fired up and within  30 minutes up to 70 f inside and had to turn it down to low.  Got a few nice walkabouts this morning and at 9 am we headed into the Pinery Flea Market with Rob and Pat, their first time here this year. Always love to explore this market when we are in the area. As our regular followers know.
Just a nice way to spend an early Sunday morning
love this doggie with her skirt
not crowded so we saw what we wanted in not much time
of course got some hot Pepperettes from my favourite vendor
he did not have any extra hot, :<(
Then into Grand Bend to stop at Grandpa Jimmys  for a few treats that we enjoy.
we picked up 2 pork sausage rolls, a scotch pie and 2 cornish Pasties
Then down the main drag to the Grand Bend beach. nice and quiet after Labor day. And the beach here is so beautiful .
looking across the lake and all the sailboats our there
the water is so calm
Grand Bend pier and a Kayak just enjoying the peaceful
 day on the water
From here we headed back home and stopped by Juicy Fruit Orchards on the way to see what was in season.
Ok Squash , tomatoes and apples are plentiful here. And amazing prices I might add.
Not much we need today but picked up 2 spaghetti squash and the green pepper (acorn) squash all for $4;50 , now that was  great deal!
Back home for a light lunch then into shorts to enjoy a very warm sunny afternoon with our e-readers.
what a perfect sunny day we had. even too hot to sit in the sun
so I had to move into the shade
Then about 3 pm Tucker dragged Gerry over for a treat and happy hour.
a treat for Tucker and doggie fix for Suzie
A few minutes later Rob and Pat Joined us and Pat got a sloppy doggy kiss from Tucker.
Not long later later Paul and Judy joined us and we all flapped our gums for a while mostly discussing the hurricane issues in Florida.
always fun to chat for a while with these guys
Soon time for me to fire up our Weber Q to grill a Turkey breast and some acorn  squash for supper. to go with our small green salad.
love our Turkey and  squash on the BBQ
sure hit the spot and of course, leftovers for lunches and soup
Then Maya dragged Walt by so she could see momma Sue and get her treats.
And Stephanie stopped by to show us her new "Dragon"
who she named "Suzie! A Mate for her other one
Now here it is almost 8 pm and I am finishing up this posting outside.  But is getting chilly so very soon time to head inside for the night.
We had a wonderful sunny very warm day here , really gotta love it.
Heard from our friends Jim and Michele from Florida and they are safe and secure in a campground in Tennessee. That is great.
Hope y'all are safe and away from those hurricanes and enjoyed your day as much as we did.

Sunny warm day no complaints here, got a few things done and thinking about our friends in Florida.

Where are we today ?

Hey it was cold last night, 39 F (3C) at 6 am today, no frost so that's good. But we all nice and cozy in bed. So that was a good thing. Did not take long to fire up our Mr. Heater and get the temps up to 70 f. Quite comfortable then the sun came out and was wonderful !
A few early morning walkabouts enjoying the warm sunshine, and another perfect view across the pond.
love the reflections here
With out Mr. Heater running and warming us up we had a propane smell. So need to check that out. Think it needs to be cleaned. I usually do it twice a year spring and fall. but don't remember doing it this spring. Not a problem disconnect and our friend Rob came over. We took it all apart check everything out blew dust and dirt out with my compressor, Reassembled and check it all out. Works like new again!
our Mr'Heater still like new after 10 years
Now because we removed all our carpet and throw rugs wanted a new location for it so needed a 5 foot propane hose (we have a 12 ft one). So I made a quick trip to Strathroy Canadian Tire and got exactly what we needed. Now all hooked up again, no propane smell and exactly where we want it.
This done and we can now enjoy a very warm sunny afternoon, outside. No clouds, no wind where we are so into shorts, t-shirt and sandals for me, enjoying our e-readers. Gotta love it !
what a wonderful warm sunny day!
Around 3:30 Rob and Pat joined our sunny site for happy hour and Tucker dragged Gerry here as well. This is nice Suzie gets her doggie fix and Tucker gets his treat.
no shorts for Suzie, she is a wus,, lol...
High 5 with Tucker
second treat for him, that's all he gets
we do have a nice sunny spot and no wind
Tucker and Gerry
Then as it cools down a bit I preheated our Weber Q, whipped up a salad and enjoyed a couple of very tasty,  tender pork chops. Using the grill mat leaves wonderful grill marks, keeps the grill clean and the chops nice and moist.
yummy? yup
Supper done and dishes done now to enjoy some time outside , posting this blog and reading as long as we can until it gets too chilly. Did get to 67F (19C) today and much warmer in the sun. But soon cooling down quickly as the sun begins to set.
Watching the news of the Hurricane and thinking about friends that live there in Florida, hope you guys are safe and secure somewhere, Jim and Michelle.
Thank y'all for dropping in today and hope that you too are out of the paths of these Hurricanes and storm surges.

Cool again overnight, a nice sunny warm day, Car show, great band tonight and thoughts about Rockport Texas

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it

Was pretty cold this morning  45F (7C) at 6 am a bit to early in the season to get this cold, but I am sure we will have some more warmer weather before we head south in October.
A few nice morning walkabouts around the park and down by the outdoor pool, looks inviting but cool.
love the mist over the pool
Then down around the mini golf that is fixed up and really a fun place , we have played a few times.
awesome mini golf here
Then saw Rob had his dune buggy out ready to take to the cruise across the road at the conservation area.
getting it all polished up he was
a mean sounding machine
he has done a great job with it
About 10 am Suzie and I headed over to the conservation area, to explore a bit and check out some of the cars.
free admission today for the car show
Some very nice trails that we hiked and enjoying this wonderful area, right across from the campground.
Eventually we found the area for the car show and Suzie wandered about with me for about 45 minutes, she has enough so back home for lunch, The music playing is 50's and 60's typical; for the old car cruises.
nice hot rod think it would be a nice towed?
and of course a 57 Chevy
64 Chev , I had one similar and loved it
original Mini , I had one of those as well, so much fun
and lotsa stories about it
Then of course they had a food area and music going on , all adds to the ambience.
nice road runner
cool pickup convertible
This 52 Pontiac John from the campground brought over, a very nice every day driver.
this really moves, 6 cylinder, 4 Bbl carb dual exhaust
and 5 speed standard tranny, sounds cool
I walked back over after lunch without Suzie and spent more than an hour checking out the cars and chatting with a few guys, (would have bored Suzie to death) and on the walk back stopped into the museum , just cause I could and check put a few fossils from the area.
a very nice museum they have of this area
Back home to enjoy our e-readers for a while with this great warm sunny afternoon.
About 3:30 Gerry stopped by to join us for Happy Hour after Tucker dragged him here. They stayed  for a bit and Suzie got her doggie fix as well.
Suzie and Tucker playing
Now Gerry sat in our chair that was getting old and goes what?  Oops,, he fell through, no damage to him, the chair is history, but the amazing thing was he did not spill his beer ! The right priorities he has !
Gerry is fine, the chair? see blow
another one bites the dust
Then supper tonight grilled up a pork chop that Donna gave us the other day after that great meal she did the other night. So reheat the fried pork chop and 2 cobs of corn, couple of slices of red pepper on our grill mat and had a very tasty super.
this sure was tasty and moist
After supper we read for a while then headed down by the clubhouse to check out the Band "No Show Joe" they are playing outside on the deck. So much nicer when they are outside. And they are pretty good as well.
We enjoyed the band for an hour or so then shortly after 9 pm , was getting chilly, so we headed back home, all in all we had a very fun busy day.
nice outdoor stage set up here
no show Joe did show up
The one guitar player came off the stage and the young kids just loved it, dancing all around him on the grass.
everyone had a great time
Now back home to just relax a bit, warm up and enjoy the rest of our evening.

Thoughts about Rock Port Texas where Hurricane Harvey hit today and did some very major damage. We have spent quite a few weeks right there in that area over the years and love it. We had thought about heading that way and stop in for a while this fall, but now? Maybe not a good time, if our campground is still even there. Hope everyone there managed to survive this devastation.
We did have very nice busy day here and enjoyed every minute of it. Hope you did as well. Thanks for stopping on by.
