Where are we today ?

         Back home last night and sleeping in our own bed again. Wonderful quiet sleep and waking up not having to wonder where we are. Our house is familiar even if the outside surroundings are different, The one thing we really like about living in our home on wheels. lots of new scenery.

        Nice and mild outside but still overcast, damp and drizzling. So not my idea of a nice walkabout that I am missing. No problem hop in the car and go for drive around some back paved country roads and through the quiet streets of New Hamburg on an Easter Sunday morning, So peaceful. Stopped by the Nith river in town by the Dam. The water is really moving over it now and the river banks rising.

           Back home putter around for a while a bit more computing and reading. Then chatted with my sister for a while just catching up with each other, it has been a while. About 11 am no more rain and has warmed up nicely, still no sunshine but an nice 2 mile walk down the road and back sure felt wonderful, A bit later the sun did come out for a bit and 65F (18C) now thats much better!

          Today we are going to Quehl's of Tavistock with more of Suzie's family for a tasty Easter Buffet in one of their Banquet rooms at 1:15 today, about 30 of us in all.  Nieces and Nephews, Aunt and Uncle, her Dad, brother, sister, there spouses, a bunch of great grands for Suzie's dad, a couple of cousins even Carl and his family from Ottawa, 6 hours away.

    Everyone here the prayer was done and we began the buffet and what a feast they had for us!

I started with a small salad and breakfast
they even had pickled heart and tongue that I love
smaller plates right?

     Then the main course, potatoes, gravy, veggies, turkey, dressing, stuffed pork loin, roast beef, Lamb, potato garlic soup and all the trimmings oh yeah so tasty.

no more food today, will be rolling home

      Tried to get a picture of everyone at once but did not happen, with so many people and the endless supply of food nit possible. But the conversations just kept flowing all around the table as everyone chatted and got caught up with everyone else.

    It was about 4 pm when we returned home and found it was a wonderful day outside, sunshine 68F (20C) and no wind or rain ! Yahoo!!! Chairs outside at 4:30 so we can enjoy this amazing spring weather, a happy hour the 2 of us and diving right into out page turners. No need for supper tonight so there was no slowing us down.

         Before I knew it was 7:30 pm and still a decent 60f. but getting a bit chilly. So did a quick drive down the road to see if I could catch a sunset with the blue skies and fluffy clouds.

      Any how we had a perfect Easter Sunday, with family fun lots of amazing food and a some very nice spring weather. Time to call it a night and head inside.

Heading back home after family fun time in the rain and still not a fun drive.

      Stayed overnight at our daughter's in Aurora, it was 11 pm before we went to bed. Oh my a couple of hours late for us, but we survived and enjoyed the whole day. So much fun with all the family.
    I woke at my regular time 4 am and oh know, not yet. So I tossed and turned a bit then before I knew it 6 am! Ok my better get up but I am missing my day. My daughter had shown me a nice massage ball that she has. I tried it and liked it. So did some checking on line and found they have them at National Sports in New Market, not far from here and they opened at 8 am today. Hopped in the car driving through all this city traffic, I got there, and city traffic back to their place again. Sure glad we don't much do cities anymore, Country living is for us, we are spoiled.

     Chatting with them for a while while she played cribbage with Grand son # 3 (this be Dave the grandson blogger, (not his real name) he is working on another posting I hear.

             Back to their place we chatted and visited for a while, then headed out shortly after 10 am. Heading south on HWY 400, rain again and road spray can still hardly see. Just before we reached HWY 401 Daughter #1 phoned. I left the charger for my Mac Book computer. OOpps ! so we did get turned around and headed back north about 15 minutes, she agreed to meet us at the King Road Exit, That was nice and we both reached there about the same time. Ok back on the road again heading south, the heavy rain and road spray made seeing difficult so we took our time headed south then west on the 401to Cambridge. Here the traffic stopped, so we turned off here and travelled through town taking roads I have not been on for many years. Missed the hwy delay and enjoyed the more slower pace of the back roads and no road spray.

          Finally back home by 1:30 PM. Turned on some heat to warm our coach up again only 45F (7C) outside and about the same inside, Not long and we were very comfy again.

     Just a nice relaxing afternoon, enjoying our reading time then chatted with Sandy for a while. Then shortly after 5pm, time for us to head home and make a bite to eat.  Not much eating today after yesterday , just a few light snacks . And for supper think a grilled ham and Cheese would fill the bill. It been a while and we do have some lovely leftover ham to enjoy.

          Took a quick drive down the road to see if a sunset would be happening, nope not tonight.

    We do have more left over ham and a Ham bone too take care of in the next few days after we get through Easter Feasts and one more yet tomorrow. With Suzie's Family in Tavistock.

    This is the beginning go the end owf our Easter Weekend, nice relaxing afternoon and a light supper.
More family fun Tomorrow and the weather still not getting any better. perfect weather for family get togethers and eating too much great food.

Good Friday, Happy Easter and time for Family fun.

Where are we today ? 

Aurora Ontario

         Rained pretty well all night and 47F  (8C) at 5 am still raining and suppose to be like this for a while. This is Good friday, just before Easter and a Holiday for most everyone.
      Pretty wet out there and raining heavily, almost lakes of water all over here, nice that we are high enough and dry,  We are making the trip to visit family in Aurora Ontario a couple of hours away. Our 3 kids and 8 grands always a fun time and nice to see everyone again. Heading out about 9:30 taking our time on these wet roads.

      With the heavy rain and traffic it was very difficult to and relatively slow going, some slow downs but kept going ended up taking us 3 hours. Once off the highways next to no traffic. think everyone was heading out somewhere for the Easter weekend.
     Arrived in Auroa by 12:30 greeted everyone there with lotsa hugs, and of course Fergie huge Golden Doodle  thats thinks she is a lap dog.

        Once here I was told of a new Asian Supermarket, so had to go and check it out. WOW this place is amazing. Anything Asian they have, I did a quick walkabout for 30 minutes and could have spent hours there, checking out and buying some wonderful foods we would love. And some I am not so sure about.
        Had to go check out this Asian Market and will be back.

     Once back to our daughters' place , playing with the kids and grands everyone arrived. Time to put our Spiral ham in the oven, low and slow for a couple of hours so we don't dry it out.

   The 2 youngest grand daughters hooked up right away and hit if off  having fun.

     We had a mashed taters, green beans, fresh made salad, cornbread, buns and lotsa deserts.

    The boys ate down stairs in the game room.

       Now after supper the guys were down stairs playing ping pong and me and my son had to challenge them. Heck we sure had fun and a wonderful workout. Been a lot of years since I played this, forgot how much fun it can be.

    We all had our special moves and worked up a good sweat, so much fun playing these games with some of the grands. Making memories and bring back some wonderful ones as well.

     Such a fun day getting togehter with the family enjoying an Easter feast and fun family time together.

     Glad that you dropped by and hope you enjoyed a Good Friday , beginning  of our Easter weekend.

     Tomorrow we head back to New Hamburg.
