A bit of Quartzsite cruising before the crowds begin, more perfect weather.

Where are we today ?
Nothing like being here in the desert, lotsa room to roam, real quiet, maybe a bit of road noise, but we could eliminate that by moving further from the road.
we have a beautiful sunrise this morning
The reason we like this area is, we are right here, can walk or ride our bikes to lotsa vendors. We know from experience when to go to the dump station so we conserve real well. There is lots that we like to check out. Rice Ranch, Tyson Wells, the Quartzsite Marketplace to name a few, and at this time of year more new vendors arriving every day.
First thing I made trip to check out the downtown area and pick up a few supplies. The Quartzsite market, Roadrunner market and the Big Market. Some improvements have been made and lots of things we get here right in town at reasonable prices.
I did happen to run into friends from Ontario Gary and Pat that winter here every year, in a small trailer park right in town. Chatted with them for a few minutes them home to pick up Suzie so we could explore some more. We headed over to Quartzsite Market place and Rice Ranch and checked some old and new vendors there.
good time to check things out before
the crowds arrive this weekend.
We did come across a couple of good deals. This new Ceramic heater (in the box) for $15.00 and the two window thermometers for 7 bucks. Our 30 year old heater is not working very well anymore and the newer one is making lotsa noise. This was a good price and seems to work quite well.
After a few hours checking for deals, we back home for lunch and relax in the after noon sun (and shade).
Our temperature in the shade
bikes out and ready to ride
Then got our bicycles down, cleaned up and went for a bike rides around the desert and over to Tyson Wells area, check out the big tent that is very quiet right now, before the rush this weekend.
love the Water towers
Beer Belly's (Adult Day care) is one of the busiest places here. We have beer at home, we like it at home dirt.
I did a quick tour of K and B Tools and tarps, but will be back a few more times while we are here. Lots of good deals to be had here.
Perfect time to check out the regular vendors
when they are not too busy.
Next week will be a zoo.
Then the bike ride back so many RV's here on display, to look at if you wish. We don't wish, have a coach we love, just keep fixing it, and its paid for too.
the big tent nice and quiet right now,
wait until saturday its a ZOO
All the new trailers and coaches here if you want to browse.
I-95 is pretty quiet right now too, come the weekend will be backed up for miles. We can walk to things.
Lotsa room to camp right now where we are
Had a question on yesterday's posting about hooking up our Weber Q. Yes we connect it to our 35 gallon rv tank as you can see below. Just disconnect that hose and the other one is for our Mr. Heater that keeps us warm at night. Much more efficient than our furnace, uses no electricity and is totally quiet.
Time to fire up our Weber Q and grill a couple fresh smoked pork chops from the Quartzsite market, look forward to them every time we are here.
a nice sunset again, behind Q mountain
Low and slow does a nice job with these smoked chops,
very quickly
A bit of our Pasta salad and a couple buns hit the spot
There ya go a nice relaxing day with a bit of exploring going on and a couple good deals too.
Lots more to see and do here, we will take it one day at a time, only got 2-3 weeks here and will find things to keep us busy everyday, if we wish.
Glad you could stop on buy and if you are in the area stop by "Home Dirt" for a visit. We are easy to find here in the desert amongst a few hundred thousand RV's.

  2. Paul is really missing all those great deals. He had a few things on him "must buy" list. Guess we will have to wait till next year. Got a wedding to get ready for this year.

  6. We wandered around Quartzsite yesterday too. It certainly seems like the vendors have gone down and so have the people. However, in a few days we should see more backing up the roads for sure. The weather sure is gorgeous though and that's nothing to complain about!

    1. The bikes are on a bike rack attached to the tow bar, and are always there when we need them. We had them in Mexico too, but kinda too much soft sand to ride very far.

Looks like y'all know how to find a bargain.... and whoohoo... do you folks ever meet up with so many friends you know! What Fun!

    1. We don't much like crowds either, but we do manage to get around and miss most of them. And always on the road for so many years bound to meet up with people almost everywhere.
