Sunshine, warm weather enjoying the fresh air and exercise.

          Now this is promising to be an amazing spring day ! A great sleep and enjoying a nice sunrise out our dining room window. Temps to be about 62f (16C) and clear blue sunny skies, What's not to love about that!

      Then at 7:30 I headed out for a walkabout town about a mile, stopped at Pettigrew's Gargage that I like to do then back home again. Chat with the guys and carry on.

         A bit later I took the short drive to New Hamburg to pick up our prescription renewals enjoying a few back country roads and the spring time weather windows open in the car.

       Back home for a light lunch and our lawn chairs outside to enjoy this wonderful weather.

     It was so nice and I wanted to enjoy this fresh air and some exercise as well. So what better way than to begin cleaning up the yard. As usual fallen branches every where from all the large trees here.

      So for a couple of hours I got most of it cleaned up 4 trunk loads with the rear seat folded down, to the back of the lot. He does have 5 acres here. And when the lawn starts to grow I will be mowing the 5 acres when we are here.

      About 2 pm I called it quits for today after a good workout. Now to relax with my honey and get right back into my e-reader. This page turner (John Sanford- Shadow Prey) keeps me coming back and almost done. I have been missing my outside reading.

     The only noise we hear is the odd small plane, a few birds and the accessional  car driving down the road behind us.
     Soon time for supper  so I whipped up our salad and preheat our Weber Q (nice to be using it again!). To grill a couple of bone in pork chops I got yesterday at No Frills on sale for 3 bucks good deal and I can't turn down a deal.

         Not long and they were done so tasty, great with our salad and of course some leftovers

     Sure nice to enjoy a warm sunny spring day outside. Walkabouts, exercise, reading and cooking supper.
     Sunsets we don't really get to enjoy here with all the bush behind us but at least we get the sunrises.

     A bit cooler over night but the sun rose and gonna be another wonderful sunny day again. Got a few walkabouts enjoying the fresh air. and just puttered around for most of day. Got some outside reading done enjoying the sunny warm weather. Then because we are heading out in the morning, checked our tire pressures, dumped our tanks, stored our Weber Q (don't need it tonight) and disconnect the water then hooked up our car.

      My first morning walkabout as the sun came up was nice but windy did get a few nice shots, of the sunrise. Then Suzie and I discussed some possible travel plans for this coming year, nothing carved in stone just throwing around ideas.

      Then a couple of trees with spring blossoms.

           I made a quick trip to town to Davids's grocery store for some Frio light beer that we like and can only find in Texas, plus a few groceries. A nice light beer 93 calories, 4% alcohol and 2.8 carbs. Wish we could find it in other states and it is almost $10.00 cheaper than other ones in the area.

             Before I dumped our tanks went in to have a shower, now here I am all ready to step in the shower and NO water ! Hmm the park has shut down the water for a repair probably. Not a problem just turn on our water pump, One we reason always make sure we have fresh water in our tanks, over the years we have run into this issue many times, always nice to be prepared.
      That taken care of back to reading again, A bit later the water came back on so just added a bit more fresh water for our journey tomorrow don't need to fill it just enough water to get us by.

     Back on Dec 1st 2013 we checked out the Fossil Rim Wildlife Centre just out of Glen Rose, what a fun interesting day that was, if you care you can check out this posting right HERE . A drive through this game reserve with lots of interesting animals roaming around some coming right up to the car sticking the heads in the windows, too cool.
      A bit later our friends Sharon and Bill came to visit and we discussed a place to go for dinner.
     We first met Sharon and Bill she is the Blogger The Odd Essay right here Dec. 2nd 2013 you can check that posting by clicking HERE if you wish. Her last posting so far was in August 2017. We have kept in touch over the years and she sent us an email a while ago to see if we would be here in Glen Rose about this time, and as luck would have it we had planned our stay here for a week.
      They arrived at our site just before 6 PM and we decide on a Mexican Restaurant in town. We all love Mexican, they just spent the winter there at their house. So nice to see them again a few hugs and away we go into town for a feast. Casa Azteca Mexican Bar and grill a pretty busy place but we were seated right away and and had great service . Reasonably priced and such a nice selection of real Mexican food, no Tex mex..

     Settled in with Sharon and Bill we tried to get caught up as much as we could, enjoyed a wonderful tasty meal and took some home of course. Really so wonderful to be able to catch up with them again after so many years, almost like we just saw them the other day. A couple of hours just flew on by but soon time to say our see ya laters until the next time.

      All our meals were excellent , conversation even better, but time for us to head home , wrap up our day and get ready to hit the road in the morning

     Another fun day here in Texas, very nice sunny weather and meeting up with friends again catching up and a very tasty dinner.

Back to Ontario on April 10th 2018Countdown

Where have we been this winter ?

Rain, sunshine, warm afternoon sun and a doggie fix.

Where are we today ?

      Had some rain overnight and this morning was a bit chilly (at this point no water leaks!, fingers still crossed). Between rain drops did get a walkabout the park for a bit after our pot of coffee. Then a quick trip to Strathroy for a few needed groceries. Collected a few more PC points and cash in $20.00 for free groceries.
       Home by 10 am another walkabout, nice light lunch, then a good workout at this wonderful fitness centre here in the park.
       Now by 1pm the skies have cleared, temperature getting up to 75F (23c) , and loving it.

         Now to get some serious reading done on the warm sunny afternoon. Shorts, t-shirts and sandals is the dress code now.

        At the usual time 3:30pm Paul, Monique and Emile joined us for "Happy Hour"

         Soon time to begin supper. As I began making our salad Tucker and his mum dropped by for a visit. Tucker wanted to see Suzie, He made a bee line from their trailer to here dragging Melinda along with him.

        When Suzie moved he followed right behind her. She went the washroom and closed the door, stuck her toes under the door and he is right there.

         After pretheating our Weber Q I set the grill mat down to grill a couple of boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Mine marinated in my extra hot sauce and Suzie's with our chicken spice. NowI need to separate these so my hot sauce does not touch hers and I need 2 different spatulas to turn them. Made that mistake only once and she was not too happy.

       Here we are still outside in shorts enjoying wonderful warm night again, 8 pm, and gonna post now and read for a while longer right here, cause we can, enjoying more outside fresh air.
