Still cold winds, but a sunny morning, lunch with friends and a short chilly Happy hour

Where are we today ?

  Heck today is Wednesday already where do the days go?  Wide awake at 5 am 38f and supposed be another wonderful sunny day once again. No winds right now so as the sun was rising got a nice brisk walkabout. And wonderful views of this huge super moon.  So bright all night long we had moon shadows.

    Then sun was warming things up nicely but the cold south wind was not very nice. A really had no place to get out of the wind and in the sunshine.

     We did enjoy some outside reading for a while, chatted with a few people walking by and heard these loud military helicopters flying overhead. Man were they loud.

        For a late lunch we went to Lin's Grand Buffet in Yuma (1 pm). This has to be the best Chinese buffet we have ever been to, so many wonderful choices and always fresh tasty food. Just about anything you could want from salads, veggies, shrimp , chicken, beef, pork, fish, soups, sushi, and even the Mongolian Grill to cook choices right in front of you. Great deserts and soft ice cream.

       The 6 of us today Ken , Kim , Pat , Rob, Suzie and me we enjoyed a very tasty meal and lively conversation.

      Then we headed back to Pilot Knob along I 8  to relax a bit.

        Back home Kim, Ken, Rob and Pat joined us for Happy hour, but heck the sun went away and was very cool in the shade with the winds even though our thermometer said 67F

       A bit later Bill and Patsy arrived and joined in the fun for a while, but by 4:30 with the cool winds and no sun was not comfortable, (ok rather chilly) So they all packed up and headed on home. We inside nice and cozy. Nice to visit with these guys again.

    Inside reading for a but then Ron and Freddy dropped in for a short visit catching up with their day, Nice to see them again and of course friendly Freddy all excited as usual.

        Now here it is after a cloudy cool afternoon we get a wonderful desert sunset to end our day.

      That was about it for a fun day. Even though it was sunny mostly and not too comfy outside. But the good news is the forecast looks like it will begin warming up again shortly and back to seasonal temperatures again by next week, Yahoo, back to wearing shorts again.

Another fun day here with friends played games and another feast we enjoyed,

        Thursday already, where does the time go? 2 Days after Christmas.Still wonderful sunny days, though a bit cooler, but a heck of a lot nicer than back home. As long as the sun shines we get what we need. I made a quick trip to Yuma for a few groceries at 7:30 this morning, stopped at Harbor Freight and got myself a new corded reversible drill for 20 bucks (my cordless has died after almost 30 years, and then around the corner to Home Depot to pick up some Christmas lights on sale a 100 lights on a string for .98 cents, the old ones only 1/2 of them work, mind you I have had them over 20 years.

      Then at 9:30 this morning we went to play Bocce Ball. Rob, Pat, Bill, Patsy, Ron. Suzie and I. We played 3 of the 5 games and Suzie and I each won one game with our partners, Pretty good for first time players.
       It was quite chilly for a while but nice in the sun , just dressed little warmer playing our here for 2 hours working up an appetite for lunch.

this is a fun game fresh air , exercise and comradery 

           Then just because we can and having worked up an appetite we headed into Lin's Buffet in Yuma that we really enjoy. We discovered it back in about 2008  and really love the selections, of fresh foods and the lunchtime price less than 10 dollars each for seniors. For a 1 pm lunch with the same bunch as Christmas dinner including Jean and Skip.  The 10 of us got a nice table and the service great, heck we served ourselves at the never ending buffet. So many wonderful dishes and great choices, constantly refreshing the foods. I know I had my fill, 4 plates, they are not that big, breakfast, lunch , supper and desert.

lunch: hot N Sour soup, Sushi, chicken wing, and chicken finger

Supper, Shrimp, Mussels, fried fish, egg roll,,rice,
spicy chicken

I don't do sweets much so this is my desert: shrimp, ss chicken,
chicken wing, Lo mien, rice, broccoli, chicken dumpling.

         Now we returned home by 3 pm and enjoyed some sunny reading time outside until 5 pm out of the wind was quite comfortable, Thermometer showed 73F but a cool breeze. The fresh dry air felt good.

        Time to head inside reading a bit more and of course no supper, already had that earlier today. All this eating has to stop soon,  but sure tastes too good. Sure will be glad when this festive season winds down a bit, another week and we should be back to almost normal eating again.
          Reading inside as the sun is setting out our dining room window. we do enjoy the desert views here.
