Happy Valentine's Day, we had fun together on a rainy day.

         Just another great nights sleep , milder again as well  it 58 F at 4 am but never seemed to get much warmer all day.

          Right after she got up I headed into town at 6:15 to pick up some needed groceries, at Fry's then, Alberstons and some deals at Walmart. Nice at this time day no crowds and very little traffic. I was home shortly after 8 am.

          Then about 9:30 Suzie and I headed out on the rainy day, she actually wanted to do some shopping! First stop at Sketcher's outlets in Yuma for a pair of shoes she has been wanting for a long time. At home in Canada there at $89.99 a pair. well she found them here on sale second pair half price so she got 2 pair for $80.00 US ($106. CDN) still an awesome deal now she finally has them, so very comfortable. Well not quite yet they had to order her size in and will be here in the campground in a week. She has had one pair for many years and really loved them. So if she wants good comfortable shoes they are worth it ?

      From here a quick trip to the Goodwill store. She hates shopping so in and out in 5 minutes. Then a quick stop at Walmart she looking for something else ok 10 minutes here.

         Now because it is Valentines Day we thought a treat for lunch. At The Chicken (used to be Chicken on the Run). Wow love their excellent broasted chicken and found they had moved 500 yards down the road to a much bigger place at 12471 S Frontage Rd, Yuma, AZ 85367  Their menu still the same a family run restaurant (their menu here) with 3 large dining areas. We got there at 11:30 seated right away. A busy place 2 dining rooms full but one we were in lots of tables. we were served right away. They are working on a new Web page so not available yet.

     They do have an awesome sounding buffet that we did not know about. great price too.

       We had our food cooked to order and were finished eating by 12 noon. We each got the 3 piece chicken with 2 sides. Each meal $7.99. Now they do have a very extensive menu from burgers, to fish , Ruebens etc, and a full breakfast menu as well Open 6  am till 8 pm fast friendly service Good as always.

       Now we had a wonderful Valentine's Day lunch and our main meal for the day. It was so tasty.

       Back home shortly after 12:30, still raining so a quiet peaceful most of the rest of the day relaxing and reading inside.

       Then just before 4 pm we got a bit of sunshine, and temps got to 65 F. So outside we go with our chairs to read for a bit then Kim and Ken walked on by and joined us for Happy Hour. Compared our days and shared stories of our travels. Always fun to chat with these guys. And then just after 5 pm the skies darkened and wind picked up,  and began a light rain again. Ok, that's it. At least we did enjoy a nice hour or so outside. They headed home and we back inside.

       No supper tonight needed today just a light snack of some popcorn and share an apple while watching a movie or something on the tube to wind down our day.

       We enjoyed our wonderful Valentine's Day here together as we do every day.

        Thursday already, where does the time go? 2 Days after Christmas.Still wonderful sunny days, though a bit cooler, but a heck of a lot nicer than back home. As long as the sun shines we get what we need. I made a quick trip to Yuma for a few groceries at 7:30 this morning, stopped at Harbor Freight and got myself a new corded reversible drill for 20 bucks (my cordless has died after almost 30 years, and then around the corner to Home Depot to pick up some Christmas lights on sale a 100 lights on a string for .98 cents, the old ones only 1/2 of them work, mind you I have had them over 20 years.

      Then at 9:30 this morning we went to play Bocce Ball. Rob, Pat, Bill, Patsy, Ron. Suzie and I. We played 3 of the 5 games and Suzie and I each won one game with our partners, Pretty good for first time players.
       It was quite chilly for a while but nice in the sun , just dressed little warmer playing our here for 2 hours working up an appetite for lunch.

this is a fun game fresh air , exercise and comradery 

           Then just because we can and having worked up an appetite we headed into Lin's Buffet in Yuma that we really enjoy. We discovered it back in about 2008  and really love the selections, of fresh foods and the lunchtime price less than 10 dollars each for seniors. For a 1 pm lunch with the same bunch as Christmas dinner including Jean and Skip.  The 10 of us got a nice table and the service great, heck we served ourselves at the never ending buffet. So many wonderful dishes and great choices, constantly refreshing the foods. I know I had my fill, 4 plates, they are not that big, breakfast, lunch , supper and desert.

Supper, Shrimp, Mussels, fried fish, egg roll,,rice,

I don't do sweets much so this is my desert: shrimp, ss chicken,
chicken wing, Lo mien, rice, broccoli, chicken dumpling.

         Now we returned home by 3 pm and enjoyed some sunny reading time outside until 5 pm out of the wind was quite comfortable, Thermometer showed 73F but a cool breeze. The fresh dry air felt good.

        Time to head inside reading a bit more and of course no supper, already had that earlier today. All this eating has to stop soon,  but sure tastes too good. Sure will be glad when this festive season winds down a bit, another week and we should be back to almost normal eating again.
          Reading inside as the sun is setting out our dining room window. we do enjoy the desert views here.

    Hey we had a bit of rain overnight. But then his morning the sun came out and we enjoyed a pretty nice day. Got my first walkabout around the park done by 8 am.

           Then back home for another coffee and shortly after 9am we hopped in the car to check out the Arizona Marketplace , one of our favourite markets to explore,

       Nice to go on a Thursday no need to pay on the weekend  one dollar per person  and nice that is so quiet here early in the morning , We can walk the isles and talk to the vendors if we wish without the crowds yet.

     Back home just after 11 am a light tasty lunch and relax outside under our awning on a wonderful warm sunny afternoon.

     I enjoyed a nice hot shower, dumped our sewage and filled our fresh water tank while Suzie cleaned our coach and gave the floors a good cleaning with her spin mop she loves.

    About 3 pm this Harley pulled up and stopped in front of our site, Has to be Henk Dorst, a blog follower that does not comment but has e mailed us for the last 5 years . Finally we get to meet him ! I believe he is from British Columbia Canada, Maybe Alberta, my memory is not that great. But he spends pretty well every winter in this area and we have been trying to hook up all these years, He met the Bayfield Bunch I think 2 years ago in Congress and has followed both of us. Actually the 4-5 of us.

    It was so nice to meet him after all these years and so much to talk about, well we flapped our gums for a couple of hours and enjoyed his company. He would love to travel east in Canada and explore SW Ontario where we hang out if he can find a place to stay (reasonable) of a while.

      Soon after he was gone I whipped up supper, tonight a simple stir fry with 5 large shrimp each  we picked in yesterday in Mexico.

     Now I actually managed to catch a nice sunset here, behind the ballroom, ( I had to search for it) and did not disappoint .

       That was our fun last day here did what we wanted to do in the area and bonus meeting another blog follower. In the morning we heading on out slowly making our way east back home. First stop some nice quiet desert camping for a while .
