Next to no rain today, awesome, our friends head on out, and we enjoyed a very nice relaxing quiet day.

Where are we today ?

Don't think we had anymore rain overnight, at least I didn't hear any (hmm, maybe if I slept with my hearing aides in). But up early as usual and about 48F (8C) outside, not too bad at least no wind. You know when we thought about it this past winter in the southwest we have had some wonderful  weather, sunshine and no rain that we remember, until we got to Texas this spring. We had mostly sunny warm days. some wind but exactly what we enjoyed.  I got an early walkabout and tried for a picture of the Sailboat bridge still lit up over the lake into Grove.
this bridge looks amazing from our site
love the night lights on the bridge
Next I put a pot of Hurst's Hambeen 15 bean soup on to cook, added a couple of smoked pork hocks for extra flavor and a bit of meat. Using the quick cook method it takes about 3 hours altogether, the longer the better I have found.
love this soup mix
Shortly after 8:30 this morning Bill and Patsy were getting ready to pull out and hit the road  heading further east and north. After a couple hugs and wishing them safe travels they are on the road again.
just checking things out
safe travels guys
Then I made a quick trip to the store to fill up our 5 gallon jug of RO purified water. And while in Grove I saw this amazing migration of birds heading north, Hundreds, if not thousands, many huge V formations, what an awesome site to see.
Back home to finish this soup and enjoy a tasty lunch. We both enjoy this very tasty soup so thick and hearty, almost a stew, only available in the states, we will stock up before crossing the border.
removed the pork hocks and some meat for the soup
smells so good cooking too
oh yummy
After another walkabout we almost had some sunshine. So set our chairs out and enjoyed some reading outside for a couple of hours, it did get to 66F (18C)  but still overcast, until a few sprinkles about 3:30. so chairs away again.
campground, quiet now before Easter weekend
While enjoying our e-readers we watch 2 couples of Canada geese squawking around, feeding and drinking from the puddles here.
love watching these Geese
Soon time to whip up supper, tonight a small pork tenderloin loin roast on our Weber Q accompanied by a small salad and the rest of our cabbage, carrots and corned beef.
the pork done to perfection on our grill mat
with a nice Texas Rub we like
Yup we had a feast, really hit the spot, very tasty and of course more left overs, always good for light lunches.
Yummy salad, roast pork, Corned beef, cabbage
and of course some applesauce
That was our very relaxing day, not much rain, outside for some walkabouts and reading, just me and my sweetie, and a very tasty supper. This sure is the life we enjoy.
Then we had a sunset  that was unexpected and kinda cool after next to no sunshine all day.
across the pool
right from our patio, very nice
Thanks for dropping on by and hope y'all had a great day as well.

Milder again last night, and a beautiful sunrise this morning. Loots like we will be have some warm weather again for a few days. I started a pot of Hurst's Ham Been, 15 Bean Soup boiling, the quick cook method, with 2 smoked pork hocks for flavouring the soup. After the coffees and computing done I headed into Town at 7:30 to fuel up our car and our water jugs with R-O water for drinking and cooking.
anther amazing  desert morning sunrise
Back home smelling the smoked pork hock simmering in the beans (smells yummy ) I finished up the soup and let it simmer to be ready in time for lunch. We each enjoyed a very tasty bowl of bean soup and of course lots more left over, more lunches.
love this soup only avaiable in the states
the 2 smoked pork hocks  from the soup
nice large pot of soup
what a tasty lunch
Next on my agenda was another quick trip to town and stop by the Reader's Oasis Book store for a refund for the concert that was cancelled because Paul had the Flu, Still not open, it has been 4 days now hope he is ok. But while here I cruised around a bit and stopped by to check out Celias' Rainbow gardens again. What a great memorial and the story of her short life, (Pauls' Daughter) Click this link here for more information.

AdamsvilleAdamsville was moved from Castle Rock Shores RV Park, near Parker, along the Colorado River. Babe Adams started building the village in 1974. Babe and Babs, his wife, live near Parker for 18 years. They donated the village to the Quartzsite Historical Society. It was restored by many volunteers and given to Celia's Garden. It was set in place in 2001.
what a wonderful miniature town built here
old tire  the stem blew out
Back home I proceeded to change the tire  tube on my Bike. It took longer than I planned but did eventually get it done. A few minor issues resolved and the bike is almost like new. At least no flat tire now.
my bike is good and so is Suzies;
Got this done including drying out the trunk of our car (broken water bottle) and on the roof of our coach to wash down our solar panels. all in  time for Happy Hour at 3 pm. Had to put a push to get things all done. Man this retirement is such is a tough life !
Happy Hour at Bill and Patsy's today in the wind. It was sunny and a warm, day so not really too bad at all.
we all here, LR:  Ken Tom(hiding)  Patys, Bill, Suzie, Deb, and Shirley.
as usual me taking the pic
Then time flew by and just before 5 we headed on home. cooler and windy , I did not feel like setting up our wind screen for the Weber q so another treat tonight  Shake and Bake pork chops , some left over KD and a small salad , did the trick tonight.
what a very tasty supper
And guess what ?  Another wonderful desert sunset to end a perfect desert day!
interesting patterns in the sky
Still enjoying tit here, and why not?  Perfect weather and enjoy fun times with our friends.
Thanks for tagging along and  enjoying our day with us.

Relaxing Sunday and made huge pot of Ham and bean soup.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Just another great day here. No complaints at all. Sunshine , warm sunny days (not too hot), and cool nights for sleeping.
Got a few nice early walkabouts done between making this huge pot of 15 bean , hamand Bean soup. I had 2 leftover ham bones from last night's dart banquet so this morning I began making this amazing soup that we love.
this bean soup mix is amazing, instructions right on the package
and turns out perfect every time

With the beans cooking I threw in one of the ham bones, for a couple of hours. Just to add the smokey ham flavor. Then pulled to bone out and added the rest of the ingredients took all the ham off the bone and added to the soup. This makes  for a very tasty hearty bean soup and large pot.
takes a few hours but is so tasty
Now all done by noon we each enjoyed a bowl and saved some more for future lunches. The rest over to Gerry and Melinda's, just cause they like it too and they supplied the ham !
what a perfect tasty lunch,
nothing like homemade soup
Right after lunch I whipped up the road to Juicy fruit Orchards to pick up a few fresh items.  Mainly  some Honey Crisp Apples that we love. Fresh picked and a very good price to boot.
the fall colours are starting to come on strong
so much nice fresh produce here and really good prices
5 lbs of Honey crisp apples for $8.00 is actually a very good price
we have seen them for as much as $4.00 a LB !
Now you know fall is setting in when all the squash and pumpkins are being harvested and on display.
After here drove through Arkona and noticed a few homes with all the leaves on the ground another sure sign of fall !
Back home to putter around enjoy the wonderful warm sunny afternoon with our e-readers .
Walt stopped by  with Maya to say hi
Then about 3 pm Tucker dragged Gerry here for a treat and doggie fix for Suzie. Time for Happy hour anyway.
Tucker gets his treat
Then Maya dragged Walt here for Happy hour and of course she gets a treats as well. These dogs sure get spoiled with Suzie here!
good dog
But then Maya wants to give Walt kisses, what a suck
now she relax with Daddy
Melinda was done work and she dropped in to join us for a while as well. Nice when she can drop by for a cold one after work.
Then  time for me to whip up supper. Tonight some Haddock fillets pan fried with Fish crisp on our Weber Q 100.  Warmed up 2 half corn cobs leftover from last nights dart banquet and warmed up a 1/2  lemon to make it very juicy for the fish.
not lone this was done to perfection
What a tasty light meal and some left over caesar salad to go with it sure hit the spot.
a tasty light  supper
That was our sunny late summer Sunday, that we enjoyed hope y'all had a great one as well.
Here we are still outside enjoying this very warm evening at 8:30 pm and still 72 f, this is amazing weather !
Thanks once again for stopping on by.
