Where are we today ?

Here we are back at Rock Glen Resort, after the last summer long weekend. Nice that we were not here when it was so busy, much quieter now.
A very nice walkabout this morning just over mile around the campground then picked up a few supplies at the store. I prepped a couple of things for supper tonight. My hand may be sore or wrapped up so just trying to get ahead with a few things. Then next week I go back to have the finger straightened.

This afternoon we headed into Stratford to see
DR. Alanna Fitzpatrick for a 2:30 appointment to get an injection to straighten my permanently bent baby finger, this is known as
Dupuytren's Contracture Pronounced "Dupe-uh-trins" most likely hereditary, my mother had this and is common with ancestry from England and France which I have on both my mother's and father's side. This is not to be confused with trigger finger that can lock in a bent position but can be straightened, mine cannot be straightened without surgery or the injection. I chose the injection though it was not covered under our health insurance, because it is less invasive and a quicker recovery.
There was a major storm warning for this afternoon heavy rains, hail, high winds up to 55 mph etc... so we stored our awning and chairs to be safe. We got back here by 4:30 sun was shining, no rain . Wonderfull I guess it missed us !

The drug used for this is Xiaflex it is injected into the the hard cord in the palm of my hand and finger that has caused my finger to permanently bend, this has enzymes to break it down so that my finger can be straightened once again.
Got there in lotsa time for my 2:30 appointment, chatted with her in her office. Such a simple procedure. The only slight pain I felt was when she froze my hand, then she injected the drug. She wrapped 2 fingers together after to protect then for a day or 2 so I don't accidentally bang it or straighten it until it is ready next week.
Back home by 4:30 no signs of rain or the storm. A good thing. Just after we got here Cara mowed our lawn. she does a wonderful job.

So the 2 of us enjoyed a late happy hour and still quite warm in the high 70"s f lov'n this weather Then I was able to whip up a tasty supper I had prepared earlier. Picked up some Sweet an sour pork at The Deli counter in Forest and then I made a very tasty mushroom fried rice , Easy quick and tasty.

As we were winding up supper Dorothy came by with more fresh veggies for us, Thanks Dorothy , we are loving these.

If there is more typos than usual I will blame it on my wrapped up finger, that's my excuse today and am sticking to it.
About 7:30 it began to drizzle a bit , still no strong winds and heavy rain but we will leave our awning stowed until tomorrow. The freezing is beginning to come out but still no pain that I can;'t deal with so far the procedure sure seems like a very good choice. No surgery and no stitches etc, easy peasy.
