Happy Valentine's Day, we had fun together on a rainy day.

Where are we today ?

Just another great nights sleep , milder again as well  it 58 F at 4 am but never seemed to get much warmer all day.
Happy Valentine's Day Suzie
because she loves Chocolates and Roses
a tiny Rose plant our wedding was all about Roses
Right after she got up I headed into town at 6:15 to pick up some needed groceries, at Fry's then, Alberstons and some deals at Walmart. Nice at this time day no crowds and very little traffic. I was home shortly after 8 am.
Then about 9:30 Suzie and I headed out on the rainy day, she actually wanted to do some shopping! First stop at Sketcher's outlets in Yuma for a pair of shoes she has been wanting for a long time. At home in Canada there at $89.99 a pair. well she found them here on sale second pair half price so she got 2 pair for $80.00 US ($106. CDN) still an awesome deal now she finally has them, so very comfortable. Well not quite yet they had to order her size in and will be here in the campground in a week. She has had one pair for many years and really loved them. So if she wants good comfortable shoes they are worth it ?
this is a very nice store lots of selctions
From here a quick trip to the Goodwill store. She hates shopping so in and out in 5 minutes. Then a quick stop at Walmart she looking for something else ok 10 minutes here.
Now because it is Valentines Day we thought a treat for lunch. At The Chicken (used to be Chicken on the Run). Wow love their excellent broasted chicken and found they had moved 500 yards down the road to a much bigger place at 12471 S Frontage Rd, Yuma, AZ 85367  Their menu still the same a family run restaurant (their menu here) with 3 large dining areas. We got there at 11:30 seated right away. A busy place 2 dining rooms full but one we were in lots of tables. we were served right away. They are working on a new Web page so not available yet.
right out front their Chicken
And of course lots of chicken decorations all over.
our dining room nice and quiet
They do have an awesome sounding buffet that we did not know about. great price too.
We had our food cooked to order and were finished eating by 12 noon. We each got the 3 piece chicken with 2 sides. Each meal $7.99. Now they do have a very extensive menu from burgers, to fish , Ruebens etc, and a full breakfast menu as well Open 6  am till 8 pm fast friendly service Good as always.
mine with fries and baked beans
Suzie fries and coleslaw
Now we had a wonderful Valentine's Day lunch and our main meal for the day. It was so tasty.
Back home shortly after 12:30, still raining so a quiet peaceful most of the rest of the day relaxing and reading inside.
Then just before 4 pm we got a bit of sunshine, and temps got to 65 F. So outside we go with our chairs to read for a bit then Kim and Ken walked on by and joined us for Happy Hour. Compared our days and shared stories of our travels. Always fun to chat with these guys. And then just after 5 pm the skies darkened and wind picked up,  and began a light rain again. Ok, that's it. At least we did enjoy a nice hour or so outside. They headed home and we back inside.
it was a nice time outside for a while
nice to see Kim and Ken dropping by
for HH and compare notes
then the skies darkened and winds picked up
No supper tonight needed today just a light snack of some popcorn and share an apple while watching a movie or something on the tube to wind down our day.
We enjoyed our wonderful Valentine's Day here together as we do every day.
Thanks for dropping on by and hope you're day was a good one as well.

ðŸ’•A Happy Valentine's Day especially to my 💘sweetie💘 and all our family and friends out there💕

Cooler and overcast today but no problem we have plans to keep us busy. First of a nice walkabout the resort to check it all out. No too big and relatively small sights . But room for lots of large rigs. We have been in some with much smaller sites, after all a campground with full hookups and 3 nights free and did I mention free wifi at out site as well. They have lotsa activities and great facilities but we don't much care about them anyway.
down by the pool and clubhouse
walking the streets
lots of seasonal sites
shuffle board
curling
horse shoes
boccee  ball courts
putting green and pickle ball course as well
Then about 8:30 we hopped in the car to Los Algodones Mexico, just because we could, wanted a few things and have not been yet this winter.
here we are paid our 6 bucks so parked and walked across the boarder
looks much the same as always
of course the Purple Pharmacy
So we wandered around checking out a few things here and there, picked up a gift or 2 and had fun chatting with some of the vendors.
lotsa stuff everywhere
you need it they have it
you don't need it they have that too
ok found what we wanted, fresh shrimp from Rocky Point
nice large shrimp $10.00 a pound,
we bought 2 lbs
2 lbs 30 shrimp  (15 per lb) enough for 3 meals and they are so good !
lots of neat shorts as well
hats, ourses, blankets
lots of great food here as well,
but not this time, we have a plan
Now we got what we wanted and headed back across the border at 9:50 no line up at all, always a good time to head back.
nobody going back yet just us
no cars either
Now being as we have lotsa time we headed over to check out Martha's Gardens (date Farm) lots of dates and date products. No we did not have a date shake, had one a few years ago , very tasty but too rich and filling for us. We checked out the store and watched an interesting video on how they farm and raise dates from these beautiful Date Palm trees.
entrance
some interesting products they have too
lots of fresh dates as well
we got what we came for, 2 date/nut loaves
love these

time to head out
lots of date palms here
Now almost 11 am so time for our planned lunch date for a Valentine's Day treat. Chicken on the run.  One of our favourite places. The broasted chicken is only second to Anna Mae's back in Ontario. They also have great menu Items, ribs, burgers, fish chicken livers wings, breakfast, pork chops homemade pies etc... all looks good but we here for the chicken.
can't miss the chicken on the roof
this the place
love the sign on driveway entrance
follow this guy in the door
We both new hat we wanted exactly 3 pieces borate chicken with fries, and bean for me , coleslaw for Suzie.  It takes a few minutes because all the meals are made to order, but we in no hurry, just savouring every bite, so hot , fresh, tender a juicy.
oh yum
There it is, we had a fun morning getting done what we wanted, home by 12 o'clock. Now a relaxing afternoon at home. Still overcast and cool with a light drizzle off and on, but that's ok too.  We have some research to do, taking advantage of the free wifi. Also reading to enjoy as well as full hookups.
We still prefer dry camping in the desert the wide open spaces and amazing views.
The rest of the day was still cool overcast and drizzly a bit off an on. No supper tonight after our lunch a bit later we will share some popcorn and an apple with a movie or the olympics on the tube, more that enough to finish up our day.
Thanks for following along and hope you had a great Valentines' Day no matter what you did or where you are. Ours was perfect !
