Where are we today ?

        Now after a whirlwind weekend of driving and visiting we are kinda tuckered out, ya know what I mean? 

         I ran a few errands today into town, stopped  by the pharmacy for some miracle drug that would, drain my sinuses and stop the cough.  My cold got the better of me, slugging around today I finally made it all the way to the end, almost. Not much for drugs but these seemed to work, somewhat, me a happier camper now!        

         Happy hour began at 3 o'clock with Emile and Monique kinda keep tabs on our last week . Chatting and having fun in the sun all is good.

        Before  we know it's starting to cool down a bit, so back home for supper, we gonna fry up a couple garlic sausage from home, boil a couple taters and some broccoli with cheese sauce, got a nice tasty meal.
        Now me gonna grab the Lazy boy and let the TV watch me for a while, gotta get rid of this cold.
        Thanks again for droppin in hope you don't get my cold too, not a lotta fun..! But me be good as new soon!!!!! Maybe even better, ya think?  Stay back from that monitor please!

Sweet Home Alabama!

Where are we today ?

We going back home to our house yippee!
Home is where you park it and right now its parked in Alabama!

        Well we were at Cave City Kentucky for the night (Day's Inns) had a good nights sleep and up early as usual. Coffee's, computing and a hot shower waiting for the sunrise. So about 7 am went to the lobby for the free breakfast, perfect! Bagels, cream cheese, muffins, cereals coffee, juice etc.. thats all we need.

        Then at 7:10 we are on the road clear sailing all daylong making good time, no traffic tie ups just keep on going. We have driven this route a few times before in our coach but sure looks different in the car, can't nearly see as much.

        About noon we crossed into Alabama and find its getting much warmer but we did not bring our shorts with us. So we just have to suffer at least the car has airconditioning.

         We stopped at the Alabama  rest area to stretch a bit and check out the Saturn IB rocket displayed here, full size too!

        The day slipped by and before we know it back home to our house! Look at the time 3:37 pm one minute later than on our two day trip to Ontario, guess we have it figured our eh?

         Thats it we are home, on our patio enjoying the warm weather and a relaxing for a short happy hour. So nice to back home no matter where it is parked. Our own beds, warm weather, oh yeah and out of the car.

         Now our plan has always been to check out the Derailed Diner down at the corner for supper so we did that tonight.  Its a cool place full of atmosphere and pretty good food and excellent service to boot!

        Ok thats it our road trip is done, made it back to Ontario, for Suzie's father's 80th birthday party, visited with a whole mess of relatives over the three days we were there, and made it back to much warmer weather all in good time, using very little fuel in our little car. But and there is a but we both managed to somehow get get a cold in the process! Go figure have not had much of a cold in all the years we have been down south and a few days back to the cold climate and we got it! Oh well it was worth it we will be better soon.

        Thanks for stopping in for a visit, we had fun hope you did too. Now we can just kick back and relax, no road trips for a few more days at least!!! Just under 3,000 miles in less than a week and lots of visiting too, we are ready for a rest.

Heading back south, stopped at Cave City Kentucky for the night.

Where are we today ?

        As usual we up earl waiting to hit the road. We had time to compute, a pot pf coffee and showers then at 7 am we hit the road, almost sunrise.

        We got to the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit about 9:30 and had about a twenty minute wait for customs. Then Back on the road. But the questions asked, you think they don't track you? We were asked why we crossed into the USA in August. Remember back then, we took a small ferry from Sombra Ontario to Marine City Michigan, had lunch stopped at the duty free shop the back to Ontario, about 3 hours in total across the border! Yep  they are watching us!

        Most of the day was overcast, but did run in to a few heavy rain showers around Cincinnati OH, but no problem we just stopped for a few minutes then back on the road again.

        About 5:30 it was starting to get dark so pulled into Cave City and choose a nice Days inn only $39.95 for the night with all the bells we need, tv, wifi, coffee AND a bonus. Get this asked the manager where we could buy some beer and he sadly notified us that this was a dry county, hmmph!!! But he was very nice and GAVE us six beer, would not take any money, now how is that for a nice host?

        Now we can relax with a couple cool ones then walked next door to the restaurant. El Mazatlan. Now we were pleasantly surprised  very reasonable prices, and excellent Mexican food, just like the real stuff. The whole bill with tax was under $25.00, more food that we could eat and
that included a pitcher of beer!

        Thats it for another fun travel day, now I can put my feet up and watch the tube for a bit.

         And back on the road in the morning to finish the trip back to Alabama and our house,(miss our house!)

A short road trip to visit more family

Where are we today ?

New Hamburg Ontario

        A very mild morning and we are ready for a road trip to visit my oldest daughter her husband and our three grandchildren for lunch.  On the road at 9:30 arrived at 11:30 and even my son was there too. So chatting catching up with news, play with the kids for a bit. Then a feast of Portuguese chicken, rice, fries an tomato and cucumber salad. Oh so very tasty!
        We checked out the Christmas decorations. so nice to see, then opened the christmas gifts that we had left for them to open Christmas Day. It was wonderful.

        Left there at 3 o'clock and back to the farm by 5 pm. Their wifi system was down and I had trouble getting our internet stick work on my Mac. So Suzie was so kind to left me use here PC. Not used to her keyboard and  took me a while to post today.  Not complaining, just saying... So Short and sweet

       So there visited pretty well all the family except my sis and brother, but there is only so many hours in the day. So now to relax for the evening and hit the road back to our house in southern Alabama early in gthe morning, before we get any snow here! So nice to see everybody this close to Christmas too.
