As they were leaving we got to enjoy a wonderful sunrise here right on our campsite.
love the sunshine and mist across the fields
A bit later I took another walkabout the Arena area next to this campground. Lotsa horses here and I did get to take a few nice pics.
I had started early this morning boiling up the bones from last nights chicken to make tasty broth for soup.
After a few hours, I strained the broth and added the veggies and spices and lt simmered for another 2 hours. Now we have a very hearty soup for lunch today and a few more.
this was excellent and very tasty

While on my walkabouts I picked up a few pocket fulls of pecans. And brought them back home thinking I could  crack a few outside on this wonderful  very warm sunny after noon.
We have to Pecan cracker that makes this a pretty easy job. With Suzie's help we were done on no time, plus enjoying this wonderful sunny day.

Into Georgia another membership park and meeting up with more good friends

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
The Flying J last night was actually very quiet after 10 pm. We will not park at the back with the trucks so the front by the pumps quiets down quite nicely. They do get busy early morning , but we are up anyway.
Got our breaky, computing and coffees consumed , and a nice walkabout around here by the trucks and watching all the busy people here heading off to wherever. Chatted with a few people here and finally hit the road by 8:30 later than planned but no real rush.
Headed out onto I-20 westbound  for about 150 miles then some back roads towards Macon Georgia. Through Augusta Georgia, not a slow down at all. We made pretty good time and very little traffic all day.
I-20 was a nice drive and good roads
Stopped and couple of rest areas along the way, just to get out for some exercise. and the Georgia Welcome centre for some info n Georgia, we will be here for a few days.
We be looking for some Georgia Peaches
Just before  we left I-20 there a=was a Flying J (no rest area) so we pulled in there for a stretch at noon and made a tasty light lunch, just because we can, no need to buy it when we have food right here.
Off the interstate for an hour or so and enjoyed some nice 2 lane back roads passing through a few small towns.
nice quiet back roads
loved this town square
Then south from Macon Georgia on I-75 to Unadilla where we will hang out for  few days. Nice small town in the south.
lots of cotton fields in this area
We pulled in  to Southern Trails Resort, a nice handy place right off the interstate and another membership park we can enjoy with FHU's and no overnight fees. We do love our free camping.
We have been here quite a few times over the years
and enjoy the area
think it was 4 years ago the last time
Got checked in by 1:30 pm and nice that we can pick our own campsite, a very nice corner one with afternoon sun. Bonus today it was 82F this is the weather we came south for.
a nice large corner site facing south
Did not take Suzie long to get her shorts on and enjoy sitting in the shade and read her I-pad. I made a quick trip around the corner to the Piggly Wiggly (grocery store) and picked up a couple of split chicken breasts for supper.
now this is wonderful
we got to read for a while in the shade
enjoying this view
And to our surprise we had friends for Happy Hour, Paul and Judy from Rock Glen Resort in Ontario, The home membership park we both love.
Judy and Paul so nice to run into them again
We chatted for quite a while discussed each others winter plans. They heading out in the morning for Florida, and we heading to the gulf coast and eventually Arizona.
time for them to head back home and we can whip up supper.
Tonight a couple of bone in chicken breasts on the grill mat to go with our tasty salad.
we do love our chicken
nicely glazed and tasty
As I was finishing up cooking we managed to get a very nice Georgia sunset.
A vey nice way to wind up a wonderful
hot sunny travel day
242 miles today
Now we are enjoying some real great warm sunny weather the whole reason we live this lifestyle.
Glad that you could drop in for a peek and hope you had a nice sunny day as well.

Knoxville Tennessee, tonight after another good travel day.

Where are we today ?
Cold last night but only down to 22f, got a good sleep so raring to go when the sun came up  and hit the road about 7:30 this morning.
Todays travel only 331 Miles
Nice sunrise and ready to go
Interstate less then a mile away so hopped on and headed into the blinding sun for a while. Loving the rest areas have found a lot of them have free dump stations, don't need one but nice to see. And I stop at pretty well everyone to get out stretch and check tires etc...
dump station in the rest area
This my road view most of the day.  Whipped through Birmingham AL. about 12 miles through Georgia.
Then on  to Chattanooga TN. Moving down the road following I-75 through Knoxville TN. about another dozen miles to Heiskell TN.
Pulled off here and fuelled up at the Pilot Station (Good Sam discount 3 cents a gallon) $1.90.9 then down the road for a mile to check in to this Park below. Another Good Sam discount with taxes  pull through $25.00 a night 30 amp and water. Don't need sewer as I have winterized our coach and right across from the washrooms.
nice site for a night.
Got here about 3 pm Eastern time  = perfect. Checked in, set up had a nice walk about checked e mails sent Suzie my expenses for the day. No need to rush cause the weather is pretty bad for the next day or 2 back home, then should get somewhat better.
nice pool but not open too cold!
it is a nice park and pretty buys too
Now to  heat up some of my rotisserie chicken and and a fresh salad, enjoying a nice tasty supper.
Shortly after 6 Suzie called and we chatted for a while bringing each other up to date. And post the blog. Gonna watch the tv for a bit and hit the hay.
Thanks for coming along and we would like to thank all of those wishing me safe travels and sending their prayers. Via comments, emails, google + and facebook.
Tomorrow hope to get to Ohio for the night and watching the weather carefully, sneak home on Sunday, between the weather fronts. If not ???
Down to 16f tonight here 1f at home gonna be cold there but warming up a bit come sunday.

Goodbye Georgia, slip through Alabama and stop in Florida for a few days.

Where are we today ?
Another good night sleep, windows open, really loving this warm weather again. Up early as usual, got the coffees and computing all done and enjoyed another wonderful sunrise.
Walkabouts the resort, Suzie had her shower, we secured the coach and were on the road just before 8am. Heading to Destin Florida only 260 miles and would like to get there in good time.

260 miles today
Down I-75 for a few miles then cross country, don't like the interstate if we have a choice. So we enjoyed some wonderful paved 2 and 4 lanes roads through a few towns, past many cotton fields and other farming operations. Now this is our kind of country.
huge round bales of cotton
nice roads, not many trucks or traffic
love the cotton fields look like snow
Blakely AL
Coming into the town of Blakely AL the main road goes right around the town square, love these kind of routes.
Blakely City hall in the square
By not taking the interstates we miss rest areas, but found grocery store parking lot to pull into and make lunch.  While there saw this HUGE Peanut driving down the road. Managed to grab a quick shot of it. Now would that not make a very interesting RV. Think he was heading down the road to the National Peanut Festival in Dothan Alabama.
love the peanut
National Peanut festival grounds, pretty quiet right now
Further down the road in Florida we came across some construction, no delays but do love RED dirt here.
We arrived at the State Park in Destin Florida at 1:45pm our time. But forgot and the time change so it was actually 12:45pm . Bonus!! We have more time to spend here with this almost 80f weather on a wonderful secluded campsite. Wow think we struck gold!
all set up very nice.
like we are in the jungle
Set up relaxed, enjoying the shade and the sun and almost quiet. We checked out the local flyers, specials etc..., and settled into enjoying our books for a while
perfect private campsite, love it
But with the time change again it was almost dark at 5 pm. Time to fire up our Weber and make supper. No problem got the night light out to grill a tasty Basa fillet and tomato with olive oil and parmesan cheese.
Added that to a green salad and sure did the trick.
After supper a short walkabout and we enjoyed reading outside until almost 8 pm and it was still 70 f. Love the temperatures here but not the humidity.
Glad you came along for the ride today it was wonderful for us and hope it was for you too.
