What another wonderful sunny day and next to no wind, today was amazing.

Main Drag Grad Bend |
Got a few nice early morning walkabouts done and feeling great, So peaceful, just the mourning doves cooing and a few birds chirping here and there.
sunrise in the orchard was wonderful |
down the valley again nice and quiet |
About 9 am we decided to take a drive into Grand Bend beat the crowds that will arrive in 2 weeks, just cause we could and was a wonderful sunny day. The summer crowds really take over the main drag here. Yup I did that as well about 40 years ago. Will let the young people got at it now.
pretty quiet now is nice |
here we are love the no crowds right now |
Down by the pier, they are working on replacing some beach sand and repairing some of the damage done by the winter icebergs,
light house on the pier |
waves coming in hitting the pier |
have walked this pier many times and used to fish from it years ago Michigan on the other side of the lake |
wonderful private beach just south of the pier |
main beach from the pier |
the waves rolling in |
channel and boat harbour |
working on the beach |
this beach will be crowded in the summer ! |
love the boardwalk here |
When we were reading the sign below, an elderly man (older then me) stopped to chat , And began telling us stories about the area, apparently his Grandfather owned this beach over a 100 years ago and he began telling us some wonderful stories of days long ago when he was very young. So nice to chat with someone who has lived his whole life in this area.
not sure if you can read this by enlarging it but interesting history of the area |
Back down the main drag, not many shops open but have been to them all over the years.
After a quick stop at Soby's and No Frills to pick up a couple food specials we were home by 11 am. A nice light lunch then another walkabout the park,
Some tulips on a few sites are looking wonderful |
And because the sun was shining and no wind we actually got a couple hours enjoying our e-readers outside on our sunny very warm campsite.
Then time for Happy Hour, next door at Paul and Judy's with their neighbours Carol and Jerrold joining us, They have a tree that shades their site so was somewhat cooler. No matter, more clothes on and we good, we enjoyed the social time with everyone.
yep we happy as always |
Then home to whip up a salad and grill a small pork loin roast for supper.
small pork loin , low and slow on a trivet 45 minutes and done to perfection |
Pork roast, applesauce and a salad excellent |
Just another fun day here, with all day sunshine, no rain and no wind not a problem with that at all. A bit warmer would be great but we will take what is given to us.
Glad that y'all stopped by fora visit and hope the sunna shining on you as well today
