A great sleep again last night and as usual I sleep fast. Up at my usual time between 4 and 5 am. computing done, coffee and walkabouts done, then we ready to hit the road by 7:45 this morning.

wonderful sunrise this morning |
Kind of a long drive today and like to get that out of the way early in the day. From Oklahoma. through Missouri and stopping in Illinois just east of St. Louis. But we just boogey along rocking and rolling with our Sirius radio listening to tunes from the 60's and Prime country tapping our feet and having a great time. What a great way to travel.
|
some nice back road travels for a while. |
|
then north on I-49 to (I-44 eastbound ) |
Stopped at the wonderful visitor centre in Missouri for a stretch, love these rest areas. Then carried on to a Flying J to fuel up at their rv islands. Love these too, so easy in and out, rv fuel lanes, works for us and our Good Sam card gave us a 5 cent a gallon discount for fuel too, bonus. Nice that we can travel more than 400 miles between fuel stops and take our time heading home. Spread our fuel costs over 8 weeks instead of a week or 2.

Missouri Welcome Centre love it here Route 66 |
Now heading east on I-44 through St.Louis. A couple of interesting water towers along the way, Maybe Patsy has seen them, but I enjoy them as well.
Then right through St.Louis past the arch and soon to our destination for the day.

St Louis Arch as we drive by |
Tonight we had planned on this Walmart and like always we phone ahead to make sure that we can park here overnight to avoid any disappointment after a long driving day. Yup we are welcome here, no problem.
|
All set up by 3 pm, get comfortable, pick up a few things at Walmart and began whipping up supper. |
Tonight supper is a couple boneless skinless chicken breasts done in the oven with shake and bake. Added to our salad sure hit the spot.
|
so tasty and moist |
|
yep we had a great day and tasty healthy meal at the end of it |
Got enough miles down today with a few cross winds that slowed us down a bit, but really not to bad at all.
Thanks once again for stopping by and hope your day was awesome as well.
|
341 miles today |
Now to relax a bit on front pdf the tube then call it a night.
Where have we been this Winter
When you boogey you boogey sounds like a good travel day, though. We really like Missouri's Route 66 rest stop, also. From a Walmart in Texas to a Walmart in Illinois...goodnight and safe travels as you continue towards Ontario.
