Where are we today ?

Another wonderful sleep last night, very quiet here at the Flying J in the rv spaces. As usual up early and after breaky once the sun came up, I wandered about the Flying J checking out the busy store and all trucks coming and going. Over there where they fuel and park.
Secured the coach and on the road by 8:30 this morning, letting Suzie sleep in today. Either that or I could head on down the road and let her sleep some more. Before we left I picked up 2 French Vanilla Cappuccinos and swiping our Good Sam loyalty card we got one FREE. Love free. Last time we got 2 free. This card pays off, discounts for fuel and even food. Rv fuel lanes and free overnight parking as well

By 9:30 this morning we pulled into Gander Mountain by Dayton Ohio, to buy me a new vest. Have been looking all winter for a new one and knew we could find one here. Love these stores but none out west.
|
love these stores but can find them only in certain areas |
|
nice new vest finally
Moving along I70 from Indiana to Ohio a very nice drive. Sunny, warm and no wind a perfect driving day again.

|
Welcome to Ohio |
|
Leaving Dayton I-75 north only another hour to go |
We pulled into our campground In Wapakoneta, a membership one, Coast to Coast only $10. a night with full hookups, free wifi at the clubhouse and an amazing indoor pool and spa.We will hang out here for a few days enjoying this luxury before crossing the border back to Canada . Really love it here and the weather amazing for the next few days as well. Sunny and about 70 f (21 C) yup we can handle that.

the creek is flowing nicely |
|
we have a nice large site too |
While we were reading outside this afternoon Suzie looked a few sites down and said to me . ("Is that a pig?). So I wandered on over to check it out . And sure enough it is a miniature pig (not a pot belly) Only 8 months old, maximum weight 35 pounds. So cool, so cute and they are in the process of training him.
We chatted with this supper couple and their son for quite a while then went home to get some quality reading time done in the nice warm afternoon sun, shorts needed, before whipping up supper.

Meet Corky
Suzie came over to meet him and got a Piggy fix. No doggie fix today and he really loves him tummy rubbed . Just laid right down and snorted just like a pig. Even when you pick him up he squeals just like pig. |
|
piggy fix for Suzie, loves his belly rubbed |
|
give him treats and he goes in circles, too cool |
We have a very nice large campsite and most people here for the weekend, so by tomorrow night will be much quieter. Not that it is noisy anyway, just less people.

Now we had a wonderful relaxing short travel day, Got a new vest, piggy fix, very warm sunny day and a tasty supper. What more can we ask for?
Thanks for stooping by for a visit and hope y'all had a great day as well.
Where have we been this Winter
I don't think I would ever recognize you without a vest and hat on. Hope there isn't any snow in Canada when you arrive.
ReplyDeleteThe hat and vest can fool a lot of people, right now there is no snow where we are going in Ontario.
DeleteNice vest and very nice pig, enjoy your sunshine.
ReplyDeleteThanks we sure will enjoy the sunshine.
DeleteNow that was a well rounded day!!
ReplyDeleteI like your new vest!! Very nice!
A pet pig....who would have thought?
But he is cute as can be!!!
Looks like you guys have a nice place to stop and enjoy!!
It was a perfect day and we sure will enjoy it here for a few days.
DeleteCute Corky! Looks like a nice park to remember. The snow in Plattsville will be gone by the time you get home. :) Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice park to hang out in before heading home.We like to make this our last stop every year. The snow is gone already in Plattsville, no problem there for us.
DeletePerfect vest for you. Wonder what the RV people will do when Corky weighs 250 lbs. ??? Kelly
ReplyDeleteThanks Kelly. No need to worry about Corky he is a miniature pig maximum weight is about 35 lbs.
DeleteYou sure make good use of your memberships. Hopefully the snowy weather has moved out for the season now that you are back in the North.
ReplyDeleteWe have the memberships and like to use them over 700 parks to choose from from free camping, to 9-10 dollers a night up to 1/2 price sure beats paying full price.
DeleteLove the vest. Years ago I bought one that had 17 pockets and used it when flying
ReplyDeleteI have been wearing one for years, this one has 24 pockets, holds all my stuff in one place.
DeleteWe prefer the shorter travel days. Looks like a wonderful place to spend your last couple of days before heading back into Ontario. Though, having read your blog for a while, you stay in some pretty great places in Ontario. Enjoy the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Congratulations on the purchase of the new vest.
This is a wonderful place to spend our last few days here in the States. Enjoying this warm weather. Yes we do have some nice places to stay in Ontario as well.
DeleteMy older vests are wearing out, they don't last forever when I wear one every day.
We really like some of the membership campgrounds. Some are nice and others not so nice. We also really like staying at the Elks especially when we have paces in a town we want to see. Travel safe.
ReplyDeleteTis some campgrounds are nicer than others, but for full hookups for the price we are still in our own home.
DeleteBetter not let Corky see what you had for dinner! This sure is a nice camping spot...
ReplyDeleteLOl he is too short and too far away to see it.
DeleteHi! Hope that wasn't Corky on your BBQ!! Lol!! Hope weather is good when you get back to Canada; we don't cross over until May1; no guarantees then either I guess! Take-care, Emile & Monique
ReplyDeleteNo that was not Corky, a distant cousin maybe.
DeleteWe never know for sure what the weather will be, but the later in the season the better.
You guys take care and travel safe.
Not being CtoC members we stay at the KOA just down the street when we visit the nephews family. We'll be there in July and looking forward to a month or so in the area.
ReplyDeleteThere Cto C membership works wonderful for us and has paid off big time. This is a nice area to spend some time in regard we have enjoyed quite a few times over the years,
DeleteLove the pig shots. What's the name of the campground? We're slowly heading that way and it sounds like a nice place.
ReplyDeleteArrowhead lakes, in a very nice location.
DeleteWe love that park and try to stop there when we are passing through. Enjoy your time there.
ReplyDeleteIt is one that we enjoy as well.
DeleteLove the pig! I hear they make good pets. :-)
ReplyDeletewww.travelwithkevinandruth.com
They said he was a wonderful pet, you cute.
DeleteIn joy that nice weather while you can. When we were still C2C Members we started at that Park on Night on our way home in the spring. In the morning we hooked up and someone from ON was also getting ready to go back as well. He was in shorts and we got home I could not into our storage spot because we a ft of snow and I pulled into a parking lot and got stuck. Thankfully a large truck pulled me out on to the street. I sure hoped the man in the shorts got back OK.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels back it has been nice and warm in Waterloo recently.
We are enjoying it and will be back tomorrow, weather there is pretty good now.
