Nice back road tour today, just taking it easy. We are in our home and love it!

Where are we today ?
Wow did we have a great sleep last night even in the Flying J. Not much road noise, very nice, no trucks and no other rv's parked here was amazing ! Mind you there was an airport close by but we can tune that out. Outside noise has never bothered us, we are lucky, both me and Suzie.
Walked about the area for a while waiting for Suzie to get mobile, then a couple coffees and we hit the road around 8:30 am no rush today.
nice sunrise
we ready to go
Only 217 miles and going to enjoy some back roads. By- pass Fort Worth and Dallas all together and these roads were wonderful Nice and relaxing drive through a few small towns. Right up our alley.
I -20 for a bit
Then some back roads for a couple hours.Stopped at a rest area to stretch and the fresh cut grass smell was amazing ! It's been a long time sine we have smelled that. Sure do love it !

Open back roads no traffic, gotta love it !
We ended up at Red River Ranch Rv resort another one of our Membership parks full hook ups for $3.00 a night  ( 30 AMP) opr $5 bucks for 50 amp if you need it. Yep we love that ! Now Thackerville is our kinda town! Small Town USA. Population  445 in 2010, with larger towns close by. That suits us to a T.

  3. Well, I don't blame you, George, for avoiding the DFW area. Seems like everything there is under construction. By the way, what kind of camping membership do you have that gets you those low rates?

    1. We will avoid large cities if we can and this worked out perfect.
We have 3 memberships this one is called Resorts of Distinction (ROD), sure saves us a lot of money over the years.

  4. It's still cold and blustery up north. You better stay where you are for a few days yet. Happy Easter to you!
