Leaving Cajun country to Willis Texas.

Where are we today ?

Another nice warm night for sleeping, heavy rain, windows open, fantastic fan going, but window awnings down so no rain coming in. This morning we are leaving Betty's Rv park in Abbevile La. Too much fun here but time to move on.
Up early and as usual got the computing and coffees done and coach all secured, taking our time we on the road at 8:30 am. No real hurry only 233 miles to go. Lotsa back roads and a bit of I-10. Heading to Willis Texas to a membership park (ROD) Resorts of Distinction. No overnight fees we do take advantage or our memberships. Have been here a few times before and enjoy this area about 45 miles north of Houston Texas.
233 miles today
Leaving Louisiana past so many sugar cane fields . Could have stayed until monday at Betty's and taken the planned tour of a Sugar Cane Plantation buy we needed to head on out.
Sugar cane everywhere here
Crossing the state line into Texas caught a picture of the Lone Star of Texas at the visitor centre , we did not stop his time. We had stopped at a couple rest areas and a Flying J to top up our fuel and make a bite for lunch already.
Arrived at Bishops Landing north of Willis Texas just before 2 pm. Checked in and picked out a nice sunny site. Close to 80f today, now this is our kinda weather, hope it lasts.
nice large site here
All set up up and comfy here, even had time to enjoy our e readers for a while.  Apparently they have a "Happy Hour " here in the clubhouse at 4 Pm. Think we will take a break, gonna be here for 2 weeks maybe, kinda Happy hour'ed out right now.
our view while reading
Now we can do what we enjoy, time to fire up our Weber Q. No time at Betty's. Tonight grilled a couple pork chops, yellow peppers and an apple.
we so missed cooking on our Weber Q!
Added that to our tasty salad and really enjoy a very tasty supper.
Glad you could drop on by again, nothing real exciting for a while, just gonna hang out here for a bit.
Like  all rv'ers, plans are written in chalk and our plans have changed. There is some family health issues back home so we may just not go any farther west at the moment, just playing it by ear. If we need to return home it is a thousand miles closer than Arizona. At least the weather here is pretty decent right now.
        One day at a time.

  1. Hope everything turns out okay at home, George. Enjoy the weather! Right now we are experiencing some mild 7C temps and rain. We'll take this for as long as we can!

  2. When we were overseas one of our biggest concerns was, what to do if someone gets sick back home. I think we would have had to play it by ear. Hopefully you get through the winter and everything stays status quo back home.

  4. That is a smart move George, stay put where the weather is nice and monitor the situation at home. I am sure everything will work out and you will get to the hot pools.
