Sat. Aug. 7th New Hamburg

Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer, since August. 2006

A very cool morning 9c (58f) I had to turn on the furnace for a bit. We had our coffees and I shared Suzie's computer for a bit then I was off to Drumbo for a bit more painting and caulking. Everything done now except the from entrance which will be done on Monday when the restaurant is closed.

Back home to pick up Suzie and off to "Pa Fest". This is a get together at Elmer Baers farm (Pa) that they have been hosting for about 50 years. They supply the location, fire pit and wood, camping with electricity if you like, an outhouse with a flush toilet, Barbequed Roast beef, 3 turkeys done over a wood fire and corn on the cob, coffee and juice. The rest is a potluck meal with such a huge variety of delicious side dishes and deserts, that no one will go away hungry. Such a great gathering with 150 to 200 people for supper (5:30pm sat) and more coming and going  from friday night until sunday afternoon (even a sunday morning breakfast for the campers). A really nice annual together for our small hometown community of Plattsville Ontario. We would have brought our coach if we did not have more events happening over the weekend, like my painting commitment and a Grandsons birthday party on sunday in Aurora, one and one half hours away. We had a great social time and chatted with many old friends and acquaintances, (we got to know a lot of people in a small community when I owned a restaurant there for 10 years). Finally back home to rest up for another busy day on sunday.

I have been taking lots of pictures but cannot easily upload them on Suzies computer (without making a lot of changes) so I will do that when my computer is finally repaired and back home where it belongs.
