Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer, since August. 2006
Sunday morning and a nice day for a drive to see some sights. We took a nice country drive thru the village of Miramar to the edge of Guaymas to check out a campground there, Playa de Cortes. On the way back we drove again past the Delphinario Sonora. This was an interesting looking complex with not much signage but the gates were open so we went in. Here is educational programs, dolphin assisted therapy, swim with the dolphins and we just happened to be in time for A Sea Lion Show followed by a Dolphin show. So for 80 pesos each ($6.50) we enjoyed two fantastic shows over the next hour and a half. Before the show started the young narrator told us it would be in Spanish as there was about 30 Mexicans there and only us 2 gringos (no problemo). He gave us a little history about the 2 sea lions that are about 8 years old and have been there for 3 years. Between them they have a son 1 1/2 yrs old now who is also in the show. The show was great with the music and antics of the trainer, the crowds and the sea lions. Immediately following this in the next pool was a fantastic dolphin show. Three trainers, 6 dolphins, lots of music and antics, with dolphin surfing and riding and them flipping in the air, even interaction with some on the young ones in the audience as well. After this great morning we returned home to have a small lunch, walkabout and read for a while in the sun. Followed by a nice supper of BBQ'd smoked pork chops, roasted potatoes and broccoli and carrots. A bit of tv then good night.
