Today is gonna be a bit cooler and overcast according to the weather guessers plus 15mph winds. And they were  right on the money. Overnight cloud cover makes for a warm night last night. Temps on the 60's f this morning, better than the last few mornings.
Got my many walkabouts done before the sun came up , gotta love the desert. (Hmm I have said this before ) I am sure.
todays' sunrise
Went to the Goodwill store on town and Suzie got so new for her clothes. And saw this riendog in the store doing some shopping too.
a rienndog too cute
Back home for a light lunch and a few walkabouts the park.Saw this wonderful train set that somebody spend a lot of time building was really amazing.
the sky all day was like this
Mind you we did get to enjoy some reading outside for a while.
Gonna whip up some fresh Cranberry sauce for the Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow at Valley Vista Resort, (we going there tomorrow) for the recipe you can click HERE or my recipe blog on the top right sidebar
Then gonna make our cauliflower pizza for super, (Suzie has a craving). With the mini food processor that I love. Cloudy day and much too windy to cook on our Weber Q. Winds 15 mph plus. For the recipe click HERE our my my recipe blog on the top right sidebar .

"Yes I can hear you now", and the birds and most everything else, love it ! But...

Where are we today ?
Now today is once again wonderful, cool nights and hot days, what's not to love about that? About 6:30 am a lovely sunrise out our dining room window.
love it
Then the walkabouts this morning are especially wonderful I can hear all the birds making all kinds of noise. Something I have missed since my one hearing aide quit, a few weeks ago. Now that it's back and working , these walkabouts are even better. Of course I can hear people talking and some traffic and the trains in the distance, it's like a new life all over again!
Mind you part of my hearing loss is speech recognition so sometimes I can hear you but not understand what you saying. Frustrating yes but that's just the way it is will not get any better. Another reason we don't like to get together in large groups. One on one is not too bad  though. So if you are young enough and actually reading this, make sure you wear hearing protection, in loud places, car races, concerts, bands, dances, chainsaws, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, you name it you will loose your hearing over time, slowly but it will happen and believe me it's not fun. I know, been there done that. Oh it's fun at the time but....
this bird posed for me too
I even went to Walmart this morning for a few things and could not believe how loud the store is again.
One cool thing here in Benson is the BAT (Mobile) I call it. Benson Area Transit. They come through this park 4 times a day to take people into town. Bus stop right across from our site.
here is the BAT
Before lunch Suzie and I took a nice walkabout this park, probably a couple miles, was nice that she joined me today a rare occasion
nice cactus garden with blossoms?
Now after a light lunch we do what we do best, read in  the shade. The intense sun here requires some shade and we do have the technology.
I can only read for a bit and have to do something, today I went over our vinyl graphics again with Protectall something I do 5-6 times a year. It seems to help keep them looking like new. They are still in pretty good shape for 16 years old.
easy to use wipe on wipe off
Then time for supper preheat our Weber Q and grill a couple Mahi-Mahi burgers to add to a salad.
While cooking supper, can see the sunset,
on the mountains to the east of us
sure was tasty and did the trick
Now just time to kick back and relax after a great day outside enjoying this amazing fall weather.
Thanks for stopping by again and I just know y'all had a wonderful day too, no matter where you are.

Love all the different cactus here AND my Hearing aide is repaired and back , yahoo !!!

Where are we today ?
Today is another wonderful day (tired of hearing this?) The usual cold nights and hot sunny days. Today got up to at least 76 f . By 9:30 in shorts, t shirt and sandals.
But my early walkabout was wonderful, cool and refreshing and so peaceful as well.
Noticed on the hill behind the campground that they have a lighted up Cactus and a Star, actually lighted up all night.
Took this pic shortly after 6:30
kinda cool
Now here there is Cactus everywhere (its the desert) and so many wonderful cactus gardens on lots and in the common areas. Now the nice thing is a lot of them have small signs telling you what kind of cactus they are. And here I thought a cactus was a just a cactus, so many different kinds. I did a few collages below and if you click on any pic they will get larger and maybe you can read some of the nametags.
My hearing aide was repaired back in Ontario and mailed out last Tuesday supposed to be here this Thursday. But had a tracking number and was following the progress. This morning expected delivery is today, 2 days early! Going to Valley Vista Resort one mile up the road. So I checked with them mail usually comes in by 1pm. Went there at 2pm and there it was, amazing! This is the reason we have been hanging out here for so long.
Now I can hear better, not perfect but much better, Me happy, Suzie very happy that I can understand her now too. We still going back to Valley Vista for Thanksgiving dinner and will leave there on Monday (after the holiday traffic) moving on down the road.
Gotta enjoy some more of this amazing weather, and reading in the shade is the way we love to do it.
what's not to love about these clear blue skies?
Then before it gets too late fire up our Weber Q grill a couple Turkey Garlic sausage to add to our salad, these sausage are really so good.
sausage and a salad did the trick
Things are coming together and we can move on down the road next week, would have been sooner but had to allow for my hearing aide. Maybe get back on track, our plans have been changing on a daily basis but that's ok, we can handle this weather, love the Benson area, that's why we are here.
Thanks for taking a peek today, hope you had a wonderful day too.

Sunday we can do nothing other than enjoy the weather right? Not much different than most days, just the way we like it.

Where are we today ?
Today is gonna be a day of rest. For 2 reasons 1 it's Sunday and 2 just 'cause we don't want to do much, (like usual).
6:30 this a nice long walkabout the park, watching the sunrise and enjoying the cool morning a quiet time of the day. Checking out some of the gardens and casitas here.
The pictures below should enlarge when you click on them, if not let me know please.
These are huge, believe they are Agave
a young Saguaro cactus
a dead Saguaro cactus
the sunrise outside our door
Below is a few casitas, lots of really cool ones here too.
Then a quick trip to Walmart around the corner for a few things. Always see something interesting there.
love this old Dodge pickup
1952 Chevy
Now Suzie had a craving for ham and eggs for brunch with home fried potatoes. And for this I can use my grill mat that works wonderful on our Weber Q 100.
The other day I baked a couple small potatoes for this purpose and we still had a bit of leftover ham. Grated the taters added some chopped onion and fried them up on the non stick mat. Added some eggs and ham and in no time a wonderful Sunday  brunch
Needs to be level or the eggs will run off
what a nice rare treat for us
Then after reading in the shade for a while hopped on my bike for a nice ride around this huge resort.
love the sign "No fishing"
guess not, no water here right now
Checked out the clubhouse about 3 pm, they having a Jam Session, looks interesting. But a woman spotted me as a new person and she told me new people here have to jam on the stage or sing! Hmm.. Very nice but we don't do either one. Ok thanks anyway I'm outta here. Got more reading to do. We can here the music a bit from our site anyway.
Then for supper grilled a hug pork chop we had, added to a salad and some sauerkraut. Again needs to be done shortly after 5 pm, getting dark and Suzie's show Madame Secretary is on at 6.
that was it
Another great day here walkabouts, bike riding and reading in the shade with my honey, nothing to repair today for a change.
Thanks for joining us hope you had a wonderful Sunday too.

Saturday and just enjoying the weather, because we can.

Where are we today ?
What are we doing today? Not much just the way we like it. Kick back and enjoy this wonderful weather. Mind you did find a few things to keep me busy.
First thing to open our awning and give us some shade, like I said before the sun here is very intense.  We do need a bit of shade, if not for us, but to help our fridge keep cool. Temp today got to 79 f with a SE wind and no humidity quite comfortable if you are not in the direct sun. Awning down and Suzie set up our sunshade. This we picked up in Quartzsite a few years ago, ten bucks. Easy up and easy down one person, easy peasy. We do not keep our awning down unless we are under it. The wind here it the desert can pick up at any minute and take our awning away. Don't need that to happen now do we? We do have a nice sunshade but takes 2 to put it on and take it off, not very convenient here.
Not the right color but the price was right
and does the trick
blocks the sun and we can see through it
Few walkabouts the park this morning and got a few miles under my belt.
Then wanted  to go for a bike ride. Flat tire on my bike! Checked it out valve stem leaking , so whipped into town the Ace Hardware here is amazing and got that done.
Then cruised around the park for  a while on my bike. Took a few more pics of some of the Casitas here, some are quite interesting
Then checking our one compartment the weathestirpping is coming off. Diagnosed the problem and found an easy fix. Got some Goop and glued it into place, looks good and so far so good.
not so good
Goop to the rescue
looks good as new
Now to just take it easy and enjoy some reading outside. We have a few hundred books to read on our e-readers so no need to worry about running out of reading material.
more wonderful clear blue skies
Then shortly after 4 o"clock gonna whip up a salad for supper and preheat our Weber Q. Tonight a couple Turkey burgers sounds like a plan.
sure did the trick tonight
Not much we need to see in the area, think we have been there and one most of it over the years. But we are mainly here for the weather anyway. So today and few more will work for us.
Thanks again for stopping buy, not exciting for you but is wonderful for us and that's what really matters.
