Wrap things up a bit, a final "Happy Hour" here for this year and Happy Birthday to our friend Sharon.

Where are we today ?

Wow what another nice summer night, windows open and we both slept like a log. even slept in until 5:45 am! Unheard of for me. Today gonna be much warmer up into the high 80s f and feel like close to 100f (38c). but we can deal with that, nice shady spot and a breeze all is good here.
the crows making a heck of a noise this morning
right here in the trees
But it was still a wonderful day day even with a late start. Nice walkabouts and into to town for some fresh produce. Then the laundry routine. Suzie sorts and I take to the park laundry mat. 2 Loads  done in no time total cost washed and dried 6 bucks, sure can't beat that. While I did that she vacuumed and cleaned our coach, looks like new again! We on the road tomorrow and this is what we do before a travel day.
After getting things done and relaxing in the shade for a while enjoying our e-readers we headed on over to Cam's site for a "Happy Hour", our final one this year with our friends here.
nice group for Happy Hour
And to wish Sharon a Happy Birthday just cause we could and we were all here.
Happy Birthday Sharon
And here we are having fun
Then as we usually do head home around 5 pm to whip up supper. Tonight some pan fried Pickerel (Walleye) on our Weber Q in fish crisp, that we love. only available in Canada, sorry...
The cast iron fry pan works wonderful
on our Weber Q
Added a salad and fresh grilled 1/2 lemon sure was wonderful. After supper enjoying another wonderful warm evening outside, chat with a couple neighbors, read for a bit then call it a night way after dark 9 pm before we finally headed inside, but really was a wonderful warm summer day.
Tomorrow we secure the coach and head on down the road , not to far, Casino Rama in Orillia to see a Willie Nelson Concert on Friday that we have been looking forward to for quite a while.
Glad you stopped by for a peak and hope y'all some back again. Have a wonderful day.

A great Sunday with cooler weather and saw a Pileated woodpecker tonight.

Where are we today ?
clic on a pic to enlarge it
Yup fall is in the air, great night for sleeping, windows open a bit and so nice and cool, extra blankets soon needed.
Furnace on this morning for a few minutes to bring the temps from 48f inside up to high 60s . Then a nice walkabout first thing with some morning mist (fog) in the area.
love the morning mist
as the sun comes up
Up near the the entrance is a few huge rocks near the edge of the campsites almost the size of a car, amazing to see. Apparently left here from the "ice age" more than a few years ago.
Got a few more coffees down and even got Suzie out for a walkabout the park, was nice to get her along for  the exercise. A good group today playing "Holy Board" (washer toss). Because of the long weekend a large turnout, we don't play anymore. About  2 hours or more of hanging around and playing a game that we don't really enjoy that much anymore.
good crowd today
A nice walkabout around the campsites in the "Forest" , The campground is pretty well full this weekend.
huge sites in the forest
but Huge bugs too

this lovely pool is quiet this morning
but packed in the afternoon
After a nice light lunch and a couple more walkabouts, we enjoyed our e-readers in the warm afternoon shade, as you know we love our reading time. Even got time to cut my hair and trim my beard again, Suzie does the finishing touches for me, Quick easy and very reasonable. (almost free is good) a new hair trimmer every 8-10 years for $15.00 is sure worth the investment.
Then time for supper, gonna grill a nice wild pacific salmon filet , seasoned with Old Bay seasoning, lemon slices and parsley to add to a tasty fresh made loaded salad with some Muskmelon (cantaloupe)  made for a wonderful light, healthy and filling meal.
about 10 minutes or so on the grill
perfect
tasty? yes
After supper enjoy another wonderful evening. We heard at first then spotted this huge Red Headed (Pileated woodpecker) searching for food in the trees, so nice to see them here.
Pileated Woodpecker
Now to wind up another great day here as the temperatures are cooling off. Before calling it a night and heading inside shortly after 8 pm. When it gets too chilly for bare fingers.
Thanks for stopping by and hope your Labor Day weekend Sunday was as nice as ours.

Peterborough Farmers Market last visit this year and a nice almost fall day.

Where are we today ?
Clic on a pic to enlarge it
Another cool morning but is warming up quickly as the sun comes up so really not too bad of a day. Campground is pretty well full but at 7:30 am is very quiet. Just the way I like it.
nice view over the swamp
beautiful clear blue skies
Craft sale today at the clubhouse  at 9 am and I have a few things we would like to sell. Our friend Monique agreed to look after our few items as she has a large table set up. We wanted to go to the Peterbourgh Farmers market, again. it is the last day that we will be in this area when the market is on this year, so want to do a final tour, lots of fresh fruit and veggies at this time of year. As  well as lotsa people but we (I) wanted to go.  We left here at 9 am checked out the market and picked up a few groceries.  Some nice pics of the market but really not much we needed, Sampled a sausage roll snd picked up some very tasty Kielbasa. some for Pat and a small piece for us.
After the market stopped by "No Frills" for some bargains and checked out Giant Tiger for some deals. Nothing we needed there but was on our way. Then back home by 11:30 in time to make a nice light lunch (homemade soup and fresh fruit). Sure hit the spot.
More quality reading time in the shade on a nice quiet afternoon. then join in the "Happy Hour" at Pat and Norm's with a few friends and some nice light nibbles.
BJ (Billie Jean) keeping and eye on things
and a doggie fix for Suzie
Again stories and laughs are always fun
Supper tonight the rest of our beef in a jar, "stew" and a salad was excellent. Easy quick meal.
very tasty
Now relaxing once again on a nice quite end of summer evening, cooling down quickly but still enjoying this fresh evening air.
     Thanks for stopping by again.

Met a couple of very nice Blog followers and enjoyed some sunny almost warm weather. And a friends Class C for sale.

Where are we today ?
clic on a pic to enlarge it
Again a much cooler night only 39f this morning. But the sun came out and the day ended up pretty nice after all by 9 am.  After a few wonderful walkabouts the park.
We had bought a roast beef a while ago and put it in the freezer, (Suzie was craving a roast beef) thawed it out in the fridge overnight and was gonna put in our slow cooker today. Once thawed I really did not like the smell of it, (not good) so regrettably we threw it in the trash and went to plan B. We had a "Beef in a jar" that we had done back in 2010 was stored under our bed. Checked it out and was good so into our ancient slow cooker with some celery carrots, onions, garlic and a sweet potato for the day on low.
Just ran a few errands today and some more walkabouts when taking a break from reading. Nice light lunch, and got to enjoy some wonderful reading time in the shade.
About mid afternoon we were surprised by a blog follower stopping by. We had conversed by e-mail a few times about them going full time. They finally made the leap, house sold, rv purchased and they will soon be full time rvers'. They are looking at a park to call home and are checking out a few, this one is on the list. They stopped, chatted and picked our brains for ideas. I am sure we overloaded them with info that needs to filter down.  So nice to finally meet them such a super couple. I am sure that we will and hope we do meet them on down the road.
John and Hazel
Shortly after they left it was time for "Happy hour" at Norm and Pat's across from us, and we can't not go there for an hour, tell shorties and chat with a few other happy campers here.
we having fun
it still does a great job
Added a salad and some cantaloupe and we good to go.
pretty well a beef stew but was so tasty
leftovers again is good
We have a good friend that we met last January in Quartzsite at Bloggerfest. Single woman taking a year to explore the USA in her RV. Originally from New York city. We had fun with her in Quartzsite and then we all moved on. Now she is back to NYC and settled in and has a nice class C that she wants to sell, why? Cause she did what she wanted to do and where do you store an RV in NYC? When you don't know if and when  you will use it again. A very nice Class C that treated her well in her travels. a perfect unit for the right person and priced right.

You can check out Clancy's add by clicking here  .
Now relaxing outside reading and enjoying some cooler weather. After another fun day here.  And just watching people pull in for the weekend is entertaining as well. At 8 pm fingers getting cold unless we put gloves on (not) so time to head inside for the night.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you had a good day as well.

Adam and Eve Rocks, cooler weather and home made soup for a perfect September day.

Where are we today ?
clic on  pic to enlarge it
This morning it was quite cool (45f) and remained that way all day did not get much about 65 F. So needed a sweater and longer pants for most of the day. But heck we just not used to it. The heat wave will be coming back next week again.
So today a was a good one to make a large pot of homemade Turkey Noodle soup from that huge 10 lb turkey we cooked on our Weber Q last Sunday. We ate for 5 days with that Turkey for $9.90 and still some in the freezer and lots more soup, now that was a great deal.
Got the carcass boiling at 6:30am for a couple hours and made a wonderful broth,. While that was going on I got a couple nice walkabouts the campground and noticed the wonderful sumach in the morning sun.
looks so colorful in the morning sun
Then a quick trip into Buckhorn just down the road for a few supplies. Spotted a sign for the "Adam & Eve Rocks" so had to check it out. A wonderful spot to check out these huge glacial rocks with a nice story attached to them.
this is them
On my way back down the road spotted these wild turkeys running down the shoulder. Such a nice site to see right here in the village. Where is the turkey hunters when we need them? Great eating.
Now home and the turkey broth is ready to strain, pick the bones and add some fixings. Onion, celery, carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, bay leaves, garlic, spices and egg noodles.
The soup was done in time for lunch and once again so tasty, perfect for a cooler day.
love home made soup for lunch
Then some nice afternoon reading time in the shade , kinda cool but dressed for it. Reading a new science fiction novel Seveneves by Neal Stephenson 880 pages and I am hooked. Can hardly put it down.
But we we got invited to Emile and Moniques' for Happy hour at 3:30 so had to go, just because we can. Chatted for a while told stories and exchanged ideas, Steve and Gail stopped by to join us as  well. Then time to head home to whip up supper.
yup we happy
For supper tonight pan fried Basa fillets with fish crisp on our Weber Q.
As I have mentioned before
the grilled lemon is so juicy
Added that to a salad and cantaloupe and had a very nice healthy tasty meal.
was wonderful
Now enjoying a cooler evening outside reading (dressed accordingly) until things cool down and time to head inside.
Hope you had a wonderful day as well enjoying this much cooler weather and thanks bunches for stopping on by.
